Sollux comes back to life, Vriska makes her peace, Terezi accepts a mysterious mission from the eighth Exile and Karkat argues with himself through space and time. It all goes down in the epic conclusion to Act 5 Part 1, which will also be our final episode. Thank you to everyone who tuned in and supported us on social media! We'll see you some other time, some other place in paradox space.

Eridan Ampora and Feferi Peixes take the stage this week as the typical moirals and the last pair of trolls to be introduced in Act 5 Part 1. Although one of them is definitely a fascist (no prizes for guessing who), one of them may have just captured Alicia's heart. Jacob also shares knowledge about lasers and Robin (the character from DC Comics).

Matesprit? Kismesis? I hardly knew her! Jacob and Alicia tackle one of the most difficult and notorious pieces of Homestuck lore this week: the troll romance system. What exactly are Tavros and Vriska? Do humans experience the same kind of emotions? And is there any link between the troll reproduction system and ours???

Its bad news for Midnight Crew haters this week as the Intermission suddenly becomes very relevant with the introduction of Doc Scratch. Can Alicia overcome their prejudice? Is Jacob guilty of shipping crimes? And how will they manage to escape the collective ire of both Kpop and Genshin Impact fans?

Apologies in advance for the cat noises, but the introduction of Nepeta Leijon turned Alicia absolutely ungovernable for this entire episode. We also find out why the mean spider girl Vriska Serket is such a huge 8itch, alongside what characters Jacob used to roleplay back in the day. Equuis Zahhak is here too, I guess? Not sure if anyone really cares about him.

After a relatively innocuous start, Act 5 slowly begins to turn up the pressure as the troll's session heads towards disaster. Sollux Captor is our main focus this week, who predicts his own demise before the game is up, alongside Aradia Megido, who is manipulating him for unknown purposes. Plus, Tavros Nitram gets bullied by a mean spider girl (AG) and a single flash of a cat-themed character sends Alicia equally feral. Jacob talks about dinosaurs.

We did it. Its finally here. Act 5 is bearing down upon us after a short break, fleshing out an entirely alien troll culture and several new characters. Is Karkat meant to be warped reflection of John? What exactly is Gamzee smoking so that he's so high, all of the time? And could Terezi potentially be the character to steal Jade's space in Alicia's heart? Now we're talking about stuff people actually care about!!!

Welcome to the Political Zone. To commemorate the very first piece of user feedback we recieved and celebrate making it all the way through Homestuck Part 1 without stopping, we're checking out Kevin Costner's notorious 1997 box office flop The Postman. Is it really that bad? Would it have done better after September 11/as a rock musical? And what can it tell us about the American founding myth, the importance of communication, and indeed Homestuck itself?

This episode is far too long!!!

In the epic conclusion to Act 4 and Part 1 of Homestuck as a whole, John discovers that his entire existence was a self-fulfilling paradox prophecy. Jack Noir continues to raise hell on The Battlefield, Alicia explains why they have literally become Jade fr, and there is a detailed discussion about different forms of easy-bake confectionery.

NOTE: There are some distortion issues with Alicia's mic at the beginning but it fixed itself a couple of minutes in for some reason.

Things take a turn for the worse this week as a version of Dave comes from the future to warn John that following GC's advice will end in disaster. Jaspersprite also implores Rose to 'wake up' while GA attempts to pique her interest with some passive-aggressive courtship. Apologies in advance for the rapping, but don't forget that Andrew Hussie was the one that wrote it.

As Jacob mentions, there was a 20 minute period during which we could not record due to audio interference, so we ended up running a lot longer than we usually do and kind of losing our minds by the end. In any case, Act 4 has plenty of exciting stuff to offer this week: the origin of the Exiles, a new troll with a very annoying typing quirk, Dave torrenting build grist and an eggy loking thign [sic].

We're finally back to the main story this week with the beginning of Act 4 and Alicia couldn't be more happy to leave the Intermission behind. Jacob also enjoys making various veiled Star Trek references and talking a lot about the Metroid franchise. Yeah, I'm thinking we're back.

Maybe we should've done the Intermission in one episode, because Alicia is really losing their mind here. Jacob attempts to keep them somewhat engaged by indulging in several tangents, but its still like getting blood from a stone. At least we get to see what CG looks like, though!

The time has come for that part of the story between Act 3 and Act 4 that's kind of part of the story, but also kind of not. Although Alicia isn't a fan from the very beginning, can Jacob make a compelling case for the Intermission by comparing it to Hunter x Hunter? He'll certainly give it a go, alongside plenty of tangents about Twin Peaks, Christmas music, and the problems with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Jade's gift from John takes a mind-bending route through space and time to close out Act 3. Rose and Dave speedrun the first portion of SBURB while Wayward Vagabond and Peregrine Mendicant take fire from an unknown attacker. Dad Egbert earns his freedom by destroying a hat. John steps into the great beyond.

This is a big one.

I want to apologise up front for the sheer amount of tangents we go on this week. You'd expect better from the 41st most popular podcast in the Hobbies category of Apple Podcasts (United Kingdom).

In any case, we do talk about some more of Act 3 this week: interdimensional canines, sleepy adventures in a golden kingdom, and why the whole idea of a Bill Cosby computer may not have aged so well.

Rose makes a new friend. Dave gets tormented by his older brother. John gets told in no uncertain terms that he has to take the Ring to Mordor, even if Nannasprite could just fly him there. Act 3 continues in earnest across multiple characters and multiple timelines, which makes talking about it really fun (not).

Covering pages 861-962.
