Though mentioned by C.S. Lewis many times, George MacDonald is an often-overlooked piece of fantasy and Christian literature history. Who was this Scotsman whose book "Phantastes" was the baptism of Lewis' imagination? And why did J.R.R. Tolkien look at it with such a critical eye?

In the first of a limited series, The Scribe and the Violet Author tackle the big questions of life: Where do stories come from? How do you balance writing from inspiration and having a schedule? What does it mean that the Scribe is a pantser?
All these and more are answered in The Story's Origin!
In this, the final section of the Darkness and the Moon Saga, Tuddle traces his steps backward to the beginning, coming full circle with his past and his future.
In the first part of the final arc of the Innkeeper's story, Villith Cathgard Tuddle is met by an old friend, who begins to help him heal.
Now known as The Consuming Fire, Perios continues his destructive spiral to fame and glory. As the war continues to slog forward, he and his squad are given a new task - duplicate what they did at Rashin and overtake Gonnicksburg.
The Innkeeper's story continues with the warrior Perios and his squad. One of the most proficient and most feared groups in the Ishtan Federation, Perios and his squad undertake one of their most difficult assignments - taking control of the border city of Rashin. The first half of Obliteration without Direction, part 3 of a 6 part series.
In the second half of Smile at the West, Lant grapples with questions of love and longing, growing as he does so. Still, his mother's voice rings in his head... "Smile at the West." The second half of Smile at the West, part 2 of the 6 part series.
The Innkeeper Tuddle begins to tell his tale... That of a young boy named Lant, caught up in the emotions and hardships of early teenage life. The first half of Smile at the West, and the 1 part of the 6 part story.
In this premiere episode, the Scribe gives a brief synopsis of what the Scribe's Journal is about and relates his first writing experience (spoiler, it was pretty bad). On the bright side, everything can only get better from here!
