Choosing the right wine glass will enhance your wine's aromas and get the best out of it. Shape matters. This is what we discussed with Mark Baulderstone, ANZ Managing Director of the leading wine glass manufacturer, Riedel.
Riedel was the first in history to recognise that the taste and aroma of a beverage is affected by the shape of the vessel from which it is consumed. Founded in Austria in 1756 (267 years ago!) and pioneering grape varietal-specific stemware since 1958, Riedel has become the most popular brand for wine connoisseurs and drink specialists, hospitality professionals and consumers globally.

Sustainability is a growing focus in the wine industry and we've been hearing more and more about the concept of 'regenerative farming' for wine.
For this new episode, we sat down with Jason Haas, Partner and General Manager of Tablas Creek, a winery based in Paso Robles, California. Tablas Creek was indeed the first winery in the US to be 'Regenerative Organic Certified' in 2020. Who better than Jason, to discuss the concept of 'regenerative farming'?
What does it actually mean? In the vineyard? In the winery? Is 'regenerative farming' another buzzword? Questions that we covered with Jason Haas and Erica Landin-Löfving, wine sustainability expert in the latest episode of the Vintec Podcast.

Napa Valley occupies a small but unique area. Despite its small surface (only 48km long and 8km wide), the Napa Valley is home to a great variety of fine wines thanks to the diverse microclimates and soils. It is particularly revered for its Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
As one of the world’s premier wine regions boasting more than 400 wineries, many may find it difficult to pick real good bottles of wine from this region. For this reason, Michael Anderson, Head of Auctions at Langton's is here to help you navigate through the huge variety and choose the next wines to try and lay down in your Vintec cabinet.

We conclude our Tour of Italy with a focus on its Southern part. The heat of Southern Italy means that it is best known for full-bodied red wines made from grape varieties such as Aglianico, Primitivo and Negroamaro. However, in common with the rest of Italy, there is a great deal of variety to be found here, from perfumed whites made from Fiano to the restrained and elegant reds made from grapes grown at altitude on the slopes of Mount Etna. Campania, Basilicata, Puglia, Sicily... are the regions we unveil with our guest Daniel Marcella, Sommelier & Founder at the Italian Wine Society.

Cath made the first Oates Ends wines in 2000, fresh out of Uni, in the shed on the family farm using grapes from the ends of the rows that the machine harvester missed, hence the name. It was a whole family affair and the single barrel was shared with friends of the family. Fast forward almost two decades and after a rewarding international winemaking career, Cath decided it was time to return home and focus on making wines from Wilagri that really captured the essence of this special vineyard.
Her winemaking style concentrates on capturing the incredible perfume and elegance that this vineyard gives.

Making wine was not initially on the cards for Nic Bowen. Born in the Great Southern region into a winemaking family, he was for a time a professional triathlete, before completing a commerce degree and working in financial planning. However, this path wasn’t for him.
Working vintage in Bordeaux made Nic appreciate the cultural interaction of wine, people, food and place. Returning to Australia he went back to university to gain a degree in winemaking and pursue a career in the industry. He landed a coveted role at Hardys in South Australia, making wines for Tintara and working closely with sparkling wine master Ed Carr at House of Arras. He's now the Chief Winemaker for Howard Park that he joined for the 2021 vintage.
