"Talk of The Titans" podcast is a weekly show every Wednesday dedicated to featuring special guests of the Scottsdale Titans ABA Professional Basketball team. From players, coaches, ownership and directors. Also featuring special guests from our community. During the show we dive into everything from basketball, community outreach, and so much more!

Last Sunday the Scottsdale Titans has their first true home game of the inaugural season vs Orange County NovaStars from California. Broadcast intern and podcast host Bobby Cacho, gives an inside look on game day and his experience. We're excited to bring back Head Coach of the Titans, Jeanette Mireles for the first episode of 2021 with Bobby and Alexandra. After the team took on the Desert Jump Off Tournament 3-game match-up this weekend, the Titans are looking to keep growing their game both physically and mentally. In this weeks episode Bobby is joined by ABA General Manager and WBA Commissioner Deshawn Woods. They discuss how it’s been going so far for both the Scottsdale Titans and Sirens.
They discuss the importance of staying healthy and safe as we are still battling COVID. Also, the importance being committed to the team when it comes to practice schedule, workouts and games for each player. Woods discusses the upcoming schedule for the Titian’s and how big of a statement the team can make depending on how it goes against other ABA teams. Danielle Jackson, the Scottsdale Sirens’ Associate Head Coach, stops by to talk basketball with Bobby and Jerard for this week’s episode. The two hosts ask Danielle about her experience growing up in Baltimore, how she developed a passion for basketball and how she came to be the founder of the non-profit organization She Can Ball Too. Being a coach for thirteen years, Danielle has plenty to say about her experience and methods but also sheds insight into what she’s learning from being with the Sirens, as well as working with Coach Kurt. Week two of this Talk of the Sirens series brings Sirens guard Ivy Cotton by to chat with Bobby and Tori. Ivy shares her story of growing up, playing basketball around Downtown Phoenix to how she met Coach Kurt and the Sirens. We’ll get to hear her perspective on how the team looks and what she expects from the season.
Beyond the basics, Ivy also shares past experiences and beliefs that give insight into what drives her and fuels her to be the emotional player she is. Join is as we step inside the mind of another Sirens player and get better acquainted with the team.
Starting this week we will be switching it up a little to "Talk of the Sirens" featuring the Scottsdale Women's team.
This week Alexandra joins Bobby to help welcome Onley Cathemer onto the podcast. As they sit down with Cathemer, she goes into depth about her time playing in high school and college, explaining the sacrifices and lessons she has learned throughout her journey making her the person/player she is today. Explaining the importance of dedication and to enjoy the moment while in it.
We also learn that her love for the game is much bigger than just herself playing on the court, but being a coach and leader to other girls she works with, as a scout for Arizona Prep. This is an episode you don't want to miss out on!
During this weeks episode both Bobby and Jerard discuss ALL the top trade deals, possible trades and Draft news in the NBA. While the 2020 Draft took place less than 24 hours ago and the 2020-2021 season will soon being in just over a month, there is lots to discussed. A Phoenix, Arizona native, Tanner Waldrip fell in love with the game at a young age from his father. After playing multiple sports throughout his younger years, it wasn’t until his sophomore year of high school when he decide to really focus on basketball. During this episode we get to meet Tanner and how his transition to play with the Titans has changed his mindset of the game. Speaking about the dedication him & his teammates have been showing both on and off the court. We also get to know who Tanner is when not training and some of his favorites.
This week Bobby is joined by James Stonikas. New to the Titans roster, James is already finding his place with the squad. During this episode they discuss a little back history on James and his enjoyment of the game. They also get into how James is feeling so far as the Titans have been able to get a couple scrimmages under their belts. Lastly, we get to know some of James activities he like to do outside of playing ball.
This week, Jerard joins Bobby as co-host to learn about Scottsdale Titans player, Nicolas Hill. During the espisode they discuss his love for the game, Hill's past accomplishments with basketball, and how he ended up where he is today with the Titans. They also discuss what type of person Hill is outside of playing basketball and some of his favorite things to do.
In this weeks episode, host Bobby goes one-on-one with Assistant Head Coach David Flick of the Scottsdale Titans. During this weeks episode we learn about Coach Flicks passed coaching experiences and how he is excited to be back working with Head Coach Mireles, as they have a long history working on the beach together.
As the ABA season has been pushed back to January 1st, our two Scottsdale teams have been putting in work both on and off the court. During this weeks episode, Jerard gives us a little in site on how last weeks scrimmages went for both teams. Jerard and Bobby also talk about the NBA Finals 2020 Champions, the Los Angles Lakers as well as some off-season hot takes on certain trades and contract possibilities throughout the entire league.
This week, Bobby and Tori interview head coach of The Scottsdale Sirens, Kurtis Gibson sister team to the Titans. During this episode they dive deep into Coach Kurts basketball past, his strategies and philosophies. And of course, as the NBA season is soon coming to an end, coach discusses what he’s noticed about the game plans in the current NBA Finals. This is definitely an episode you won't want to miss!
In this weeks episode of “Talk of The Titans”, Alexandra and Jerard join host Bobby to discuss NBA Finals, Predictions and the paths both the Lakers and Heat took to get there. They also discuss how the LA Clippers blew a 3-1 lead, who will become the next head coach for the team, as well as what it will take for the Milwaukee Bucks to win a championship. Lastly, Alexandra gives a quick update from coach Jeanette on how the team is doing so far as practices become more consistent and scrimmage games continue to be added to the schedule.
Nick Campbell returns as the lone guest for episode 13. He chats with Bobby about the Clippers’ disastrous game 7 loss, the Eastern Conference Finals and the future of some losing teams. Come and join us for more hot sports takes from the broadcasting team.
This week, Bobby and Jerard interview David Haywood, a forward on the Titans. Haywood has had an interesting basketball journey and, at the age of 38, he has a lot of knowledge to share. He goes into depth on his basketball philosophy, past experience and also his professional boxing career in this insightful episode.
This week, Nick Campbell and Tori Diaz return to talk sports with Bobby. The three of them discuss their thoughts on the NBA Playoffs, speculate who will win The Finals as well as the NBA's stance on social injustice. Come and listen to Nick endlessly defend the Clippers, while Bobby tries to explain why the Lakers should still be the favorites.
Greg Triay stops by this week to chat with hosts Bobby and Tori. Greg is the director of the Titans’ social media/marketing team and has helped organize several charity events as well. Coming from California, Greg had realistic dreams of becoming a football player until the unexpected happened and he went down a path that led him where he is today. Join us this week to hear the story of another member of the team.

Bobby hosts the podcast on his own and talks with two interns, Tori Diaz and Nick Campbell, who work with the broadcasting team and help produce the podcast. Tori and Nick answer some questions that will help listeners know them a little better and then share some hot sports takes. Join us and get to know some more of the minds behind the podcast.
This week, Alexandra Wray co-hosts with Bobby Cacho to interview Scottsdale Titans Guard, Sean Whiting. Sean is the second player to sign with the Titans and has quite a vocal social media presence for the team. Throughout the interview, Sean tells stories from the time he spent playing professional basketball in China and touches on his upbringing as well as goals he has in the ABA.
The last two episodes have featured player interviews, but this week’s podcast offers a change of pace as guest host Jerard Obyrne interviews the Titans’ General Manager, Deshawn Woods. Deshawn goes into detail on the requirements of his job, his approach, his basketball history and how the team is handling Covid-19. Listeners who may be unfamiliar with the Titans will get to hear about the team’s origin and the people behind it. If you are familiar with the team, this interview should give an open look at how the team is run and the mentality of it’s leaders.
Episode five of Talk of the Titans features new co-host Tori Diaz joining Bobby to interview Devin West. Devin West is a forward/center who was the first player to sign with the Scottsdale Titans. He answers some questions about his past and then touches on his future plans with the Titans organization as well as the charitable events he has been involved in for the city. Listeners won’t want to miss the chance to be introduced to a couple more members of the Titans.
In the fourth installment of Talk of the Titans, Robert is joined by a new co-host, Dominic Bravo, as well as Titans point guard Tommy Whatoname. Tommy chats with the guys about his journey from growing up on the Hualapai reservation in northern Arizona to landing a spot on the Titans roster. Other topics of conversation include Tommy’s work with the Hualapai reservation’s youth as well as his approach to the game and goals he would like to accomplish with the team. This is the first episode that features a player from the team, and so fans can get to know one of the guys a little better.
Cheerleading since she was five, Sophia St.George, co-head coach of the Scottsdale Valkyries cheer squad has years of experience competing and coaching at a high-level. While excited for the opportunity to get back to the sport she loves, Sophia is ready to get down to business. As tryouts approach in the upcoming weeks, Sophia has big plans/goals for the soon to be cheer squad and their season ahead.
Passionate about sports & non-profits, Jessica Japka has taken her skills as a PR professional to help bring the Scottsdale Titans Organization and the non-profit "Couponing For the Less Fortunate" together as one to give back to the community. Believing that there is a bigger story than just playing the game of basketball. Jessica is excited to see what other passions the players have off the court when it comes to charity/volunteering opportunities. Jessica and her team are excited to put these two organizations on the map as they continue to push for more media exposure as the ABA season approaches.
Finding a passion for basketball at a young age, Head Coach Jeanette Mireles talks about her reason for loving the game, her past playing and coaching experiences, as well as what we should expect this coming season from the team/staff both on and off the court.
