Midnight Deliverance | Acts 16:23-28 | September 14th, 2025
Today, Pastor Jeremy unpacks the moment where Paul and Silas are in jail and are freed by the power of God. It is important to understand that the Gospel is a divisive subject solely due to the evil and darkness in the world, so following Jesus isn’t going to be the easy walk in life, but the best walk in life. Even though Paul and Silas were imprisoned for spreading the Gospel, their continued worship and praise to God, even in the deepest, darkest corner of a jail cell, is what allowed them to draw closer to God and ultimately be delivered from their imprisonment. Welcome to a Brand New series at Alinea Church, “Parenting Pandemonium.” In this week's empowering message, we explore the profound significance of spending quality time with your children amidst life's bustling chaos.
Why do we look for the living among the dead? It is the same question the angels asked the women at the empty tomb. Tombs are for dead people. Jesus is alive. Yet we keep going back to find fulfillment in dead things. Let’s go to Jesus, because He is the only one who can give us healing, fulfillment, purpose, and forgiveness.
Now that we know all of the disciples, what can we learn from them as a group? How did what they do get us to where we are today?
We know Peter from his great successes and great failures. However, when we evaluate his life, it isn’t his daring steps of faith that he wants to be known for; it is something much more simple.
Doubting Thomas? All of the disciples doubted. More like, sulking Thomas. Listen in as we learn that a life lived with a defeatist attitude can cause us to miss Jesus.
One we know quite a bit about. One we know nearly nothing about. Yet interaction with Jesus changes how we see everything.
Society wants us to be at each other’s throats. If they aren’t in our camp, we are to hate them. However, Jesus provides a better way. He calls us to Himself, not to a side.
Today we’ll look at the two brothers, James and John. We’ll dive into why Jesus named them the Sons of Thunder, but more importantly, how their response to the call of Christ, dictated the direction of their lives.

Last week we learned that the life we expected and the Christian life can not match up, leaving us disillusioned. This week instead of looking at our expectations, we are going to look at where we apply our energies. Many times in life we can feel like we are pushing so hard to achieve a certain outcome. Maybe our marriage is struggling, our kids are not turning out like we had hoped, or that we aren’t making headway at work. After all of that struggle, we are left asking, am I even doing this right? This week we were back together having services and starting our new series, “Hot Take.” We are hitting topics that are hot on the heart of the speaker that Sunday. This Sunday, I felt the need to talk about expectations. Too often, we can be sold a version of Christianity that doesn’t meet our expectations. And when we do that, others can feel that there is something wrong with them or something wrong with the message. Neither of those thoughts is true. Instead, we need to realign ourselves with what Jesus said this Christian life would be like. Tune in today to hear part one of the expectations Jesus laid out for the believer.
We continue our series on prayer. This week we look at the many types of prayer God makes available to us in Scripture. Sometimes we are grateful. Sometimes we are in awe. Manytimes we can think things are too good to be true. The disciples thought that about the resurrection of Jesus.
We can also look at the resurrection through rose-colored glasses and forget that it took place during a time of great distress and chaos.
