The more we move from nature the more we move to grave. One of the best things to practice is learning more about our health. Our lifestyle is the major thing that affects our health. How amazing I got tested through my fingers to know about my eye defect.I thought it was magic but no, I got to know it's about knowledge and experience.I marvelled because we practised what we discussed on the show right in the studio. Without prescribing drugs, she did what is called Therapeutic Analgesic for my colleague in the studio who complained of a headache and quickly, sent a message to the brain through his fingers to relieve him from the headache. 😀I got some tips on how to boost the brain 😊 something so easy that I can do every day which I'd never thought of.Jokingly, I asked if the doctor could detect if someone has infection through the palms and she made me realise it's possible to some extent.I had a Date with Dr Mrs Rukayat Agbaje this morning on the show Awujo Wa. We discussed the Metaphysics and Epistemology of Pain in Acupuncture It was worth it to host such an amazing skilled Acupunturist. 😊Let me give you a synopsis of what Acupuncture is.Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medical practice that has been used for thousands of years to treat various health conditions, including pain.Highlight of some points we discussed: 1. What Acupuncture is all about.2. How acupuncture theory explains the metaphysical nature of pain and its relationship to the body's energy channel.3. The Western philosophy of pain is often viewed as a subjective experience. How does the perspective align and differ from the traditional Chinese view of pain in acupuncture? 4. The role of Qi and vital energy play in the metaphysical understanding of pain within the acupuncture theory.5. How does acupuncture's approach to maintaining pain management contrast with modern Western medicine's understanding of pain and its treatment. Here is a take-home. 😊Water should be taken according to body weight and not just anyhow for the fact that too much of everything is dangerous. Plus, we drink sipping and not gulping water anyhow. The older we get the more our body feels to reject taking water! We have to force ourselves to do so. Breakfast should be taken before 7am while dinner should be taken 6pm-7pm, at least, 3 hours before sleep to avoid malfunctioning of the organ. High blood pressure patients are prone to not heal on time if they continue to have late dinner. Not using the restroom is not a sign of a good immune system 🙄 as my Yoruba people would say (Ara mí rán) I wish I could interpret that in English. 😀😀For individuals considering acupuncture for pain management, it's advisable to consult with a licensed acupuncturist and discuss how this traditional practice may complement or be integrated with conventional medical approaches.Listening to the show may interest you. 😊 Barakat Adejumo🌹#medicine #traditionalmedicine #chinese #nigeria #health #life #tips

How much are we concerned about beggars, children hawking on street. It's saddening when people see beggars as people who can be given alms in exchange for their destiny.

How much are we concerned about street children? The rate has increased to 18.5millionare according to UNICEF.

Some of us are majorly concerned about giving them 20 Naira, or 50 Naira, as much as can afford at present. For how long will that save them?

Yes, some beggars are millionaires in the business. You can say that, but is it all of them?

Ain't we worried about the future of these street kids?

Some children hawk whilst their mates are in the classroom learning.

Some drop out of school as a result of poverty and turned into street kids.

HSKI has been doing a great job in reshaping the future of these street kids.

It would be a blessing if we can have more hands on deck to help the street kids, not just to feed them but to secure their future and eradicate having children on the streets.

It'll amaze you to know that the beggars (AlMajiri) have a king in their turf, whose order is the final.

It draws one's jaw to hear about the 33years old woman (beggar) that has given birth to 15kids!

Why do you think they give birth to many children? 😂 get to know by listening to the audio.

On the show today, discussing The Street Children: Education and Our Society. Some of the things we discussed include:

  1. Who can we call a street kid?

  2. How does Society affect street kids/children?

  3. What are the causes of the rising numbers of street kids/children?

  4. What are the impacts of organizations in solving the problems of the street kids/children?

  5. What policies or programs have the government made to eradicate the challenge?

Advice to the parents and society, recommendations to government.

Whenever we are told, we are malaria positive or diagnosed with fever or any kind of disease, first thing is to say " Olohun Onije, orimo ko" (God Forbid, over my dead body) 😂

It's just funny! Should we say, it's ignorance or what?

When health practitioners observed or diagnosed and give out their results, some would not return to such clinic or hospital, then started praying and paying traditionalists.

Same in the scenario, When the new mother noticed something in the neonate, such as yellowness of the eyes instead of going to the hospital to confirm and get treatment at an early stage, the grandma could say "the baby will be fine, you can't know more than me, I nurtured your husband or father... Blabla.

More reason we have to pay attention to our health issues before and after marriage.

Genotype, blood group and rhesus factor should be thoroughly checked for compatibility.

Yesterday, we discussed Neonatal Jaundice, which is a disease that affects neonates and could lead to brain damage. It's about the yellowness of the eyes that's ignored by people and it destroys the baby's brain so the child develops long-term complications like mental retardation, paralysis, etc and such child later turns to be abandoned without adequate care.

Some of them, become special needs children and, sadly, there are no adequate facilities to take care of them in our society today.

It was said that, if an incompatible blood group should have a baby, this disease could affect the child.

Same as Rhesus status.

It's said to be prevented right from the pregnancy stage and immediately after birth when confirmed to be what's affecting the child.

As a society, what's our role here, Firstly, ensure pregnant women around you go for antenatal as expected in a standard hospital.

Secondly, when anything seems to be wrong with a child, let's encourage the parents to visit the hospital without delay.

Thirdly, before getting married, advise singles and new couples to check their blood group and rhesus factor. If not compatible, medical practitioners would ensure the baby and mother are fine by giving the best treatment and guidance.

I heartily appreciate my guest, Ms. Najeebah Arikewuyo, It was a great experience with her. 😊

From research carried out here in Ilorin, 70% of parents are guilty of child favoritism.

Now, what if we do that across all states and see the statistics of affected homes.

Child favoritism could be intentional and unintentional as gotten from research.

Many unstable adults out there, would turn out to be aggressive people because they lack parental love, and in one way or the other were victims of child favoritism.

Loving a child is natural, but make it loving your children! Including the adopted child(ren) in your care.

It was said that parents can have a favorite from the children but shouldn't be placed on the forehead.

It will not only affect the favorite child, it'll affect the whole family, the society and the final result will bounce back on the parents.

Child favoritism has no positive impact but rather builds hatred, enmity, jealousy, and the gap between the parent and family.

Some parents tend to have the first born as their favorite child, while some choose their favorite due to how smart and intellectually blessed the child is, which should never be.

When a parent punishes a child now and the favorite child did the same thing, such would be overlooked! Why?

This alone affects the self-esteem of a child!

The favourite child mostly turns out to be a spoilt brat! And misbehave in society because they see themselves as the champion over other children in the family.

Only those who knew that their lives are at stake and did some self-reflection will break this bond and make other children in the family not have him/her as an enemy.

As a parent, what's the way out? As a society, what are we doing to curb this?

You and I, what impact have we made to stop this and help the victims?

I so much enjoyed the program with my Guest, Mrs. Ariyo Mariam M. On the show Awujo Wa.

It was a great experience!

You should listen to the Audio 🥰

Awujo wa always comes up every Saturday, on O.fm 92.5 at exactly 7am. 🥰.

A recorded radio show. Who are you before marriage? Who did you choose as your partner? All these are the foundation of responsible parenting.

Parenting starts when you decide to choose your spouse, became one, get pregnant and expect the baby.

It's seen as child abuse when children who are supposed to be in school are served responsibilities of hawking to feed the family, as this could lead to rape cases and even the male child can start having bad gangs, smoking, drinking and keeping bad company.

As a parent, you failed if you are not able to provide the three basic needs; Food, shelter and cloth, for your child(ren). And it should be known that part of your responsibilities is to give security and education.

Both formal and informal.

Parents should stop pushing all the responsibilities of their parenthood to teachers!

Parents are the first teacher, They are life models.

I'm glad one of our audience asked our guest her view on social media usage and the use of smartphones by these teenagers and youth.

I can't give you all the full details, this is just the synopsis of it. 😊

You should listen to the full discussion on the Responsibilities of Parents in society Development.

Learn and Relearn!

Remember, the goal is to live the world better than we met it. Our tomorrow must be better than today.

Listen to the recorded version, give your contribution and look forward to another amazing session next week.

A child testified that he would have turned out to be a miscreant/thug, if not for the beating and punishment he got from his parents.

Another child developed a hatred for her mother as a result of memories of the beating she had from her.

Today on the program Àwùjọ wa (Our Society), we discussed Disciplinary Measures in child upbringing: should beating be condoned?

As both guests were not on the same page, it was an engaging moment with them.

I believe in beating, I don't believe in beating, as both guests give their lines and did justice to the topic.

Extensively we discussed if beating instills morals, corrects a child or instill fear in a child and should it be condoned as disciplinary measures.

Likewise, the psychological effect of beating on a child.

It saddens that some parents reign curses on their children whenever they offend them and engage in throwing tantrums, beating a child with sharp or harmful objects, we urge parents to put a halt to this, as their children are their future.

Here's the recorded version. Listen to their opinion on the best way to correct a child, aside from beating.

I believe all parents need sensitization and counseling sessions on parenthood as we are raising society and not a single child.

As I am on the journey to make our society better, do your part, Let's make the world a better place than we met it by taking positive impactful actions.

"She talks too much, I can't cope in such a relationship, we aren't compatible".

"He's too quiet, it means he's dangerous and just pretending to be a calm man, I can't marry such a man".

Why shouldn't I talk freely insight of whom I called a lover? I asked, if being talkative is a red flag in a relationship or not?

Is it every quiet person that hides their true color to get a man or woman?

What if it's their nature? What if she loves engaging in meaningful conversation and not chitchat.

We should know, in a relationship what you viewed to be a red flag might be something that gives another person joy.

Nevertheless, let us try to make a balance and be more tolerant. It is like some people to be quiet not being pretentious.

Communication is good but too much of it might turn to some turning else.

Talk and act moderately. Why not listen to today's podcast to have the full gist. 🥰

Love is blind as they say, but I say love is not blind. We humans just decide to turn a blind eye to some important things in our relationship. Red flags would have been showcasing and drifting but we claim to be in love and act as blind to it also claim to change our partner after marriage! The question is "Would it change after marriage?" What I take or opine to be a red flag in my relationship might not be a red flag for you. I don't club nor take alcohol if I meet someone who's into all sorts that means it's a red flag for me! Anyways... I took my time to discuss this in my latest podcast called #Redflags take your time to listen to it. Finally, don't die in silence .... If it's not working walk away. What you think would change after marriage might actually grow beyond your control if not controlled at the foundation stage.

"She has been a great partner since we met, we live in the same neighborhood and always pass by. We started dating not up to two months and I told my mother about her and said she likes her and claimed the lady has always been on her best behavior ever since she knew her. Just last week my mum said my girlfriend doesn't greet her well enough! Oh, someone I just told you about and nothing like formal introduction has ever taken place. What am I to do or say? I told my girlfriend to be greeting my mum very well anytime she passes by, she was surprised and say she has always been doing that which I also know. I don't want anything to come between my girl and me and the same with my mum. I love and respect them both!" My advice is to maintain a good relationship with both of them, let your mum knows your relationship has never been legalized, and it's obvious the lady is on her best character as she claimed herself. Tell your girlfriend to do more, try harder, because if it's her mum that complained of the same thing she would definitely adjust and she shouldn't see your mum as a weasel or enemy from now. The mother-in-law should calm down, it's too early for those allegations. A relationship of barely two months. What do you think?

View Details

Dating involves two persons, there's a need to define your relationship for you to know your stand. Don't get served breakfast all the time! Red flags are obvious. If you're not ready for marriage stay away from dating someone whos ready! Don't play with people's emotions and feelings, it hurts. Let your intentions be clear to your partner. If you want to have a fun look for someone you're both ready for fun and not a serious relationship. Some date men because of money and material gifts, and some men date ladies just to satisfy their sexual urges. It's left to you to determine and define your relationship to avoid wasting your time chasing shadows.

View Details

It's about a beautiful lady who has been dating a man for years and believes sex can hold the man because she never denied him sex. She always satisfies him. The question is when you're not married while courting does it mean your body belongs to your man? Can't you say NO!? Satisfying a man you're not married to makes a harlot. The guy broke up with the lady when he said he's not ready for any commitments. She thought of suicide but was saved by friends. This is a lesson to all ladies turning prostitutes in the name of displaying wife material. Learn to say No! Your body is yours until you're married.

I was just 23 when I married my husband. Love is blind as they do claim but Love is not blind. We humans decided to turn a blind eye to some vital things in the name of LOVE.

We never bothered to know our genotype neither our blood group.

After two years, we were blessed with a son which became our source of sorrow.

We started spending and spending on his health, he was a sickle cell as we were told by the doctor.

We never knew our Genotype! And never care to know before marriage. We are both AS, Had it been we had known we would have quit the LOVE.

Had it been we had known we would have done the needful than birthing him for pain and suffering.

We lost him after a while, We thought we could cope with it but NO,

We believe LOVE is enough for everything but I must say we realized a lot in marriage as a lot unfolds when we never expect.

We divorced and each of us had to start a new life!

It hurts.

Don't birth that child for suffering. It's not only about you! Think of that generation coming from you.

You need to know your Genotype and Blood Group.

Today's Gist 🥰 Can you allow your parents to choose your future partner for you?

My parents are always not in support of my relationship.

There's a girl I love so much, I introduced her to my parent they said No!

I continued with her, we had our first child but gave up the ghost! The second child... Died after birth!

The lady left me 😥 I met another charming woman, we started well but my parent said No again!

I met her parents, we continued but different calamities from different angles, every day!

She decided to leave as well, my parents mocked me, saying they warned me but I didn't take heed.

I regretted everything! Almost 10years revolving around the same thing! Nothing to write about achievement neither family love.

Something happened later and I confronted my parents... Guess what?

..................

I regret following my Mum's words. It happened, she became pregnant but it was a toxic relationship.

I wanted her to be my baby mama... Because I have a lady I love deeply.

But my mum said I must marry her! I broke up with the love of my life and married my baby mama, then life became miserable. No peace at home! I always want to stay outside than my home!

She nag! Threatens and never appreciates.

I wish I married whom I loved and found joy and peace in, but it seems too late!

I just want to quit! Start all over, Divorce her and never allow someone to tell me who to marry or be with!

But guess what... Life is complicated! What works for A might brings downfall to B!

Have you ever had issues with your mother-in-law or father-in-law?

Can you quit if your parents are against your relationship?

What's the assurance that if your parents choose for you, there won't be any problem?

Independence Day in Nigeria. Should we continue to celebrate Nigeria? Why are we celebrating Nigeria? Are we Celebrating Nigeria or Nigerian? I love my fatherland ❤️, I pledge to Nigeria my country, to be faithful loyal, and honest. To serve Nigeria with all my strength, to defend our unity and uphold our honor and glory, So help God.

Are we working with this oath? We complain about everything without doing anything! Two wrongs can not make a right! We made Nigeria what it is today, why can't you fix your fault?! Why blame the government for everything? A graduate that can not writes and compose a good Cv, how's that the fault of the government?

Job seekers supersede job creators! We worship money in this country! Who has no money is not successful! That's why money ritual is rampant! Kidnapping too!

Corruption is not just happening with our government but with all of us! Corruption and embezzling are flowing in our blood!

We don't want to work for anything! We want everything to happen within a twinkle of an eye.

Should we only focus on crude oil as a source of revenue for Nigeria?

What do you gain in cursing your dear country? I'm not telling you to agree to my mindset but letting you know what the future would look like if we continue this way!

Change your mindset, nothing good will happen if we don't adjust from ourselves! Who can we make a leader in Nigeria? The Imam that embezzles the mosque offering? Or the pastor that builds his house with church tithes or You that was made a group leader and ran away with little contribution from people? Who?

Nigeria shall be great! Nigeria will be great! I love you my dear country. Happy Independence Day Nigeria. Nigeria @61.

It's about two lovers, the lady gave the phone to his man after he requested to use it to watch films. The guy refused to return the phone to the lady and he started abusing the lady. She reiterated and insulted him . The guy threatened to deal with the lady in all ways. The guy wasn't the one that got her the phone, they never had any intimacy and the lady happened to be a decent young innocent one. Plus, she's from a well-to-do family. The guy continued to threaten her, using her social media pages and chatting with people pretending to be the Lady.... Hmmm, it led to a police station ... Listen to the podcast and learn. Now, who is at fault? Can you give your phone out in the name of love? Lesson; don't you ever keep nude pictures of yourself on your phone.
