Also in other news; The Tioga County Democratic Committee has announced its candidate for legislator in Tioga County’s fifth legislative district, Waverly Deputy Mayor Pat Ayers. He will run for the county seat that was once held by Ray Case, who passed away in December. The district includes Waverly and the Town of Barton. Legislators appointed Dennis Mullen to fill the seat, but the state ruled that it must go to a vote. Election Day is Nov. 8. The Tioga County Republican Committee has not yet announced a candidate. Over the weekend Kmart in Binghamton will be shutting its doors for the final time in mid-December. The parent company of Kmart, Sears Holdings, says that the decision to close the store comes after a review of the store’s profitability. In anticipation of the closure, the Binghamton Kmart will begin a liquidation sale this Thursday. In other news; we have an update on New York City and New Jersey; New York City Mayor is not looking for any other suspects. However Ahmad Khan Rahami; was just found and shot by police and currently in the hospital. Also; two homeless men found a backpack in the trash, thinking there was something of value in it. Instead, what they discovered and their actions that followed potentially saved lives in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Now to the disturbing sports news; Chargers running back, Danny Woodhead is done for the season with a torn ACL, according to multiple reports. Have a great Tuesday everyone.
NYC Mayor not looking for other suspects. However Ahmad Khan Rahami was just found and shot by police and currently in the hospital.
The New York Police Department said Monday that 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami is being sought for questioning regarding the New York City blast over the weekend.
Happy Tuesday Waverly New York; Mike is out on assignment; but before we hit today’s weather: The Waverly Department of Public Works building has been demolished following a devastating fire last month. More information on the fire is expected to be discussed by Village of Waverly Trustees in a meeting at Village Hall today at 6:30pm. This meeting is open to the public. Waverly News will be there LIVE to cover this event.

Waverly Police and the Tioga County NY Coroner's Office have released the name; David Bidlack of Sayre Pennsylvania that was involved in the fatal pedestrian incident in the Village of Waverly New York. He was 22 years of age. The incident is still under investigation and awaiting toxicology reports.

Breaking News update; The Tioga County, New Coroner's Office have advised this agency that the scheduled autopsy on the person involved in the fatal train incident will NOT be completed today as planned. The autopsy will be completed ASAP, as scheduling permits. Pending further investigation into the incident an update will be provided in the near future. We will come back with more news as soon as we can.
