Welcome back busy Bees! Let me introduce you to our new guest, Wimintra.

Wimintra is definitely a busy bee!

She is a mom to a wonderful girl calls Jordan. She is an entrepreneur. Wimintra is the founder of Hotelintel.co (https://hotelintel.co) and WIMINTRA Company limited (https://www.wimintra.com). Hotelintel.co is a one-stop portal for news and intelligence for things hotels, hospitality and industry related investment.

Wimintra is also running a pro-tech startup and doing venture building at Whatnot Startup Studio (https://whatnot.co). Yet she still finds time to launch her new clothing business Whooshe.inc (https://www.instagram.com/whooshe.inc/)

Having to undergo an emergency C-section is stressful and can even be traumatic as a first-time mom, but at least when you decide to do it in an international hospital and one of the best hospitals in the country you expect proper high standard measures in place and the healthcare providers to manage the pain during the surgery.

In this episode, Wimintra will open up about her traumatic C-section or what her husband called hospital horror. She has experienced the most terrible caesarian operation due to anesthesia failure. Indeed the anesthesia administrated was not enough hence it did not work. She felt herself being cut open while still conscious, she felt every single incision during the operation.

No doubt this story could send chills up anyone’s spine.

Wimintra is of these women I like to call kick ass women who are not easily scared or intimated. Despite this traumatic experience, she was back on her heels and ran her business after a week of postpartum recovery.

Tune in!

In this episode we have Symphony.
Symphony is the South East Asia Campari brand ambassador. Symphony is Malaysian, she moved from Singapore to Bangkok two years ago while she was pregnant of her first child.

She will share with us her long labor experience from a planned natural delivery to a C-section and her personal story about postpartum depression coping with the loss of her mother.
She found strength through self-care and self-acceptance.

Pregnancy and maternity bring a mix of feelings, and not all of them are good. It’s okay, even when it does not feel okay, it’s OKAY.
Just like Symphony’s story, we need to normalize postpartum depression and the mental health challenges of being a new mom. PPD happens to so many women but unfortunately we don’t hear much about it, we don’t speak about it. In 2021 and in some parts of the world, it’s still a taboo, even feeling ashamed to talk about it.

A reminder to be kind to ourselves no matter what is happening in our lives, give the permission to be a beginner again, to start all over again, to take small steps. Trust the process of getting through it and seek help if needed.
There is always another way, the way of kindness, the way of slowness, the way of self-acceptance.

The confinement month is an extended period of rest for mothers postpartum lasting anywhere from 26 to 45 days in which mothers and their babies are confined to their homes and cared for by other women; traditionally mothers or mothers-in-law step into this caretaking role, but hiring a confinement nurse or checking into a confinement hospital have become new norms in our modern society.

Diana had her first child four years ago, and decided to fly in a confinement nurse from Malaysia to help taking care of her and her baby during postnatal recovery. You will learn in this episode this special journey and how the postpartum confinement has helped her to recover from the labor.
