Today's guest is: Martin FitzgibbonMusician, songwriter, singer and author Martin Fitzgibbon was introduced to the art of drumming aged 8. By the age of 16, he had ventured into the uncertain, exciting and precarious world of the professional musician, playing in every kind of venue including a few he was reluctant to admit to his Catholic mother. Fitzgibbon explains, “You did what you had to do just to get by. I played in Soho nightclubs for a while and there were some pretty unsavoury characters you had to deal with, but as a kid it was a great education in many different ways”
Money has never been a real motivation either. He says “Sure you need and deserve to get paid for what you do, but I enjoy musical variety and if I liked the sound of a proposition, I said yes first and then found out what numeration was going to be later” As a result he has no regrets and has worked in almost every musical genre, in many parts of the world, whilst pursuing his craft.
The drummer in the original production of The Rocky Horror Show, which
premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in London alongside Tim Curry and Richard O’Brien, among others, Fitzgibbon continues to perform and is currently preparing to record a solo album due for release in early 2025

Today's guest is: Kristine JensonKristine Jenson has been practicing yoga and meditation for over 30 years and learned the art of mala making 10 years ago. As friends and family began to ask Kristine to create malas, necklaces, and bracelets for them, she decided that she should explore the idea of opening a business. Not wanting to be just another commercialized business, she meditated on the idea of how to make it something more meaningful. The message she received loud and clear was to make the business be about her beloved niece Devon, who died from a heart defect in 2003. Since she opened Jenson Natural Jewelry in 2017, she has been able to share Devon’s story worldwide and has created a legacy in her name by donating 10% of her business profits to Children’s Hospital in Devon’s memory as well as to other non-profits that Kristine cares about. She has been able to take the heartbreak of losing her niece into a company that spreads hope and love to the world. www.jensonnaturaljewelry.com

Today's guest is: Hannah Lee, LSW, CYTHannah Lee, LSW, is a therapist and yoga instructor at Room To Breathe Psychotherapy and Yoga in Chicago, IL. A social worker by training, Hannah worked on social issues such as housing, incarceration, and access to higher education before joining Room To Breathe. There she provides individual and group therapy, focusing primarily on trauma healing; perinatal mental health; parenting/caregiving; identity exploration for people of color; and neurodiversity. She is a graduate of RTB’s psychologically sensitive yoga teacher training and teaches a weekly online class.

In both yoga and therapy, Hannah and Room To Breathe emphasize accessibility, autonomy, and the importance of participants building an internal sense of safety. By prioritizing “function over form,” participants have the space to explore the sensation of postures and experiences without the pressure of achieving a particular form or outcome. Practicing these values in the yoga and therapy spaces changes the power dynamic in the room and can be a tool for healing for folks that have had their choice taken away from them. Hannah and Room To Breathe know that these are practices that benefit everyone, not just those that identify with a trauma history, and hope that both participants and practitioners can learn how psychologically sensitive care can benefit everyone.

Today's guest is: Lorine BambergAfter spending almost 25 years in pharmaceutical advertising, Lorine realized more than ever the need to take breaks which reset the mind and body, inspiring optimum health and well-being. Whether at work or life in general, yoga can help to get the morning going, reset the spirit in the afternoon, or wind down the day into a restful evening. But the more she studies and teaches yoga, the desire to bring more inclusion to the practice is the larger goal. Elements of yoga can be adapted to any levels of capability, to bring joy in movement to those otherwise not considered students of yoga. She wishes to bring yoga to those communities, expanding the perception beyond the catch phrases and the fancy clothes. The outdoors is her haven and healer. The trees are her inspiration and protector from the elements. She marvels at nature and its adaptability. Lorine draws from her Reiki and Yoga studies, love of nature, connection to her own inner child, and openness to alternate methods of healing when teaching, moving away as much as is possible from the conventions of the pharma industry to guide and connect her students with their true higher selves.

Today's guest is: Gracie LynnGracie Lynne was not a born writer; she was a writer born out of adversity.
Although she had two degrees, she never considered writing to be a probable vocation.
Her first writing that gained notoriety was that of Christmas letters. She would write these from her children's point of view, with a flair for humor. When her children were young her marriage ended. Gracie sought comfort in her church and began writing plays for a single's ministry. That is when God put a calling on her life to become a Christian author. While continuing to work as a registered nurse, Gracie moonlighted as an aspiring author. After eighteen years of hard work, The Shattered Vase was released. This debut novel was nominated for best Christian fiction in the Christian Literary Awards and won the Firebird award. Gracie is not only an award-winning author but also a landlord, Bible study leader, volunteer, and an actress. She has raised three amazing children, as a single mother, and is now overjoyed to be a grandmother.
Gracie would like to acknowledge that without God, The Shattered Vase could have never been written. This is His story much more than it is hers. www.theshatteredvase.com

Today's guest is: Jason Elliottason Elliott is the co-founder and President of Perfectly Snug — the sleep solution company behind the popular dual-climate controlled Smart Topper and app. The Smart Topper keeps the user and their partner at an ideal temperature all night, resulting in a deep, restful sleep. The integrated technology senses body temperature and auto-adjusts the amount of cooling or warming to ensure each person stays comfortable. Users can also set preferences and sleep/wake times for each person using the Perfectly Snug App.

How did Perfectly Snug come to be? For years Jason was perpetually tired even though he was in bed nine to ten hours, while his wife was well rested with seven to eight hours. It took him an hour to fall asleep and would toss and turn all night, waking up too hot, too often. Poor sleep affected his mood, energy level, performance at work as an engineer, and ultimately, his health.

After speaking with his friend, co-founder and CEO Marty Furse, he realized there was a gap in the market for a sleep solution that would solve his problem. Being engineers, the two developed many prototypes that Jason then tested every night at home with his wife. He also instrumented his bed with sensors and started studying his sleep and skin temperature, which led to the evolution of the technology for what would become the Smart Topper by Perfectly Snug.

Jason has a BASc in Systems Engineering from the University of Waterloo and MASc in Mechanical Engineering from UBC, as well as extensive product development experience in various industries including fuel cell technology, laser optics, precision mechanics, and solar energy, and expertise in manufacturing from start to finish.

He currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking and building projects in his garage, as well as camping and outdoor adventures with his wife and three children. perfectlysnug.com

Today's guest is: Shahada KarimShahada Karim believes the most effective way to connect is through plain speech, clear direction and decisive action. She grew up ‘dabbling’ in forms of yoga, to stretch overworked muscles from too many hours in the gym. In 2012, she committed to learning as much as she could about yoga with her first certified training in Hatha Technique. She’s since been certified in Hot Power Fusion (Hatha/Bikram Hybrid), Yoga Sculpt (external weights and resistance) and Yin Yoga. She also studied Mat Pilates, Barre, Yoga 4 Cancer and Yoga Nidra.
She has specialized training in anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, energetic cultivation and transfer, sound therapy, meditation, and breath-work.

In 2017, she expanded her studies to Ayurveda and its specific connection to Nutrition and Physical Expression. In 2018 she founded Habibi Sport, to focus on sustainable choices and habits that encourage health and wellness for life. She developed NOURISH: a personalized nutrition program that works with an individual’s unique taste proclivities, habits, and emotional triggers - to help them reach optimum health and wellness. She also developed the Habibi Technique, which focuses on ‘center out’ movement and utilizes breath to target specific muscle engagements. The physical exercises promote conscious muscle contraction and extension. Results include a strong, lean, flexible body and expanded lung capacity. The energetic result is courage of self- expression, self-confidence, self-love, self-honesty, and the fortitude to hold space for oneself and others.

Today's guest is: Katie LipsKatie Lips is an author, entrepreneur, speaker, mother, and weightloss expert, and helps people around the word to learn to love themselves, lose weight and find happiness.

Katie wrote her debut book Love Yourself & Lose Weight to share her experiences of successful and enjoyable weightloss. Having struggled with weight for many years, Katie found the secret was self-love. This simple book about love aims to help people to love themselves, lose weight and be happy.

Katie’s story is typical: in her twenties and thirties she gained weight gradually and reluctantly, with life’s setbacks causing her to feel less and less excited about being her. She fell out of love with herself and was stuck in a rut.

Fed up with feeling out of control, Katie realised the power of self-love as a catalyst for doing what she thought were difficult things - including losing weight. Over time, she learned to love herself and used her new found self-love as a catalyst for her massive, easy and enjoyable weightloss.

Katie lives just outside of London, England with her husband Paul, daughter Lana and cat Mikey.

Today's guest is: Cathy ConnallyCathy Connally’s culinary career had an inauspicious start at nine years old, with the renovation of her mother’s kitchen involving the Yellow Springs, Ohio fire department. Later, to the horror of a high school teacher in St. Peter, Minnesota, she would win a Betty Crocker Award, only because she was good at math. This vote of confidence would propel her into internal audit in the global mining sector and eventually to a career as an entrepreneur in technology. Eating countless takeout meals while driving hours to put out project “fires,” was leading to a slow train wreck on the health front.

Her first book, Flavour with Benefits: France (released April 7, 2021) which she co-authored with Charley Best, is a romantic journey through France with stories of intrepid women, some famous, some not, and lessons about food as medicine experienced by Cathy at five years old. Her mission with Flavour with Benefits™ is to share her journey and experiences with millions of people so they too can overcome health challenges by taking simple actions every day, enjoy great tasting food and never compromise flavour or health.
