The Kalamazoo Valley Community College baseball team won 12-0 over Owens Community College on March 12, 2015, at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, FL. It was Game No. 8 of the spring trip for the Cougars. That brings the team's record to 4-4. Freshman LHP Zane Gonzalez pitched a complete game shut out for the Cougars while only allowing 5 hits. Valley's offense came alive with the big hit coming on Keegan Marsden's 3 RBI double in the bottom of the 6th. Tyler Trammell added 3 RBIs along with 2 RBIs each from Kevin Phelps and Ryan Slaughter. KVCC will finish the trip with a Friday double header against Lincoln Land CC (IL) at 1:30 PM in Winter Haven, FL. In this recap, coach Cody Piechocki says the team a chance to complete the trip with 6 wins, which would be a record for a KVCC trip to Florida.

In game two, the Cougars picked up an exciting late game victory off a Tyler Stevens solo home run in the bottom of the 6th to put the Cougars ahead 2-1. Starting pitcher Jared Vanderbor took a no decision despite throwing 5.1 IP with 7 K, 3 H, and one 1 ER. The Valley bullpen was able to hold off the Cyclone offense and Ryan Slaughter came into relief to pick up the 2-1 victory.

The Cougars (Kalamazoo, Michigan) won Game 1 by the score of 4-2, scoring 2 runs in the top of the 7th inning. Jared Vanderbor pitched 4 innings to start the game, and Dylan Roberts pitched the last 3 innings to get the win. In Game 2, LHP T.J. Cerven got the win, pitching 5 scoreless innings. Mason Vredevoogd pitched 2 innings to get the save. The team won 8-0, scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. The games were played March 7 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
