Our guests this week are Peter & Sally Motta. They share about marriage from the perspective of having thought it might not heal or get better. Peter battled with addiction for 10+ years, Sally had to fight through many different situations. God has restored their relationship and they are currently in a healthy and thriving marriage, serving their community in various ways and advancing in their careers and businesses. They are currently leading the children's department in their local church and also co-lead Journey Couples.

Matthew 14:13-21 ESV
The miraculous was done by Jesus but the ministry was done by the Disciples.
There has to be a shift in your thinking. You’re not a disciple when you just sit and receive, you’re a disciple when ministry is given from His hands to yours.
- “We have only” is mindset that doesn’t matter when Jesus is involved.
- He will multiply what we bring to Him.
- What Jesus multiplied the Disciples distributed.

Proverbs 3:3
Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.
How do I establish my heart?
I write it on my heart.
I absorb what God loves and what God hates.
I spiritually create a standard that distinguishes my desires from God’s desires.
I’m able to compare and contrast - I think this should be done - but I know this is what God desires and is pleased by.

The Spirit of God will always encourage you to share the message of the Resurrection of Jesus, The Spirit of the World will always ask you to be quiet about.
The Resurrection was the platform in which Christianity spread. To this day we preach not of just the death of Jesus but of the life that came despite death.

Unfortunately, many modern Christians have reduced Him to a single-attribute God. Never mind that the angels in God’s presence do not cry out, day and night, “Love, love, love,” but “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty”
Love is defined by God.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking learning about love and pursuing love is the single most important thing you can do as a Christian.
God defines love.
In heaven they cry out who he is and what he is and that is Holy.

- ABIDES in the words of Jesus (accept or act in accordance with (a rule, decision, or recommendation).
- LOVES other Believers/Disciples
- AIMS to become a friend of Jesus.
Internal definition - how can you examine your life to see if you’re a disciple?
John 8:31-32
31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

The Arrival
Luke 19:28-40 After telling this story, Jesus went on toward Jerusalem, walking ahead of his disciples. 29 As he came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives, he sent two disciples ahead. 30 “Go into that village over there,” he told them. “As you enter it, you will see a young donkey tied there that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks, ‘Why are you untying that colt?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it.’” 32 So they went and found the colt, just as Jesus had said. 33 And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?” 34 And the disciples simply replied, “The Lord needs it.” 35 So they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over it for him to ride on. 36 As he rode along, the crowds spread out their garments on the road ahead of him. 37 When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. 38 “Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!” 39 But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, “Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!” 40 He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!”
•Jesus enters your life because He wants to (v. 28).
•Jesus enters your life with His plans (v. 29-31).
•Jesus enters your life using His followers to reach you (v. 29).
•Jesus enters your life bringing miracles (v. 37).
•Jesus enters your life bringing peace (v. 38).
When you’re in the valley, look up. The word of God is the foundation of everything.

To surrender is to observe, submit and follow the leadership and Lordship of Jesus over your life.

You were designed to worship God and if you fail to worship Him, you will create other things (idols) to give your life to. You are free to choose, what you surrender to but you are not free from the consequence of that choice.”

Our sinful nature always tries to take the lead.
This is why surrendering to God is important.

Battles happen daily. Wars can last a long time. Truth is a mirror not a microscope.
Matthew 7:3-5 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! Truth is evident in your life when you can see your flaws and failures long before someone else’s.

Francis Frangipane the author of the book "the three battlegrounds" said : “You will remember that the location where Jesus was crucified was called “Golgotha,” which meant “ place of the skull.” …the first field of conflict where we must learn warfare is the battle ground of the mind; i.e., the “place of the skull.” For the territory of the uncrucified thought-life is the beachhead of satanic assault in our lives. …We must be crucified in the place of the skull. We must be renewed in the spirit of our minds!”

There is a definite connection that I don’t have to stretch far to understand between belief and living as such. You live the way you believe. We are faced daily with questions concerning our positions or stances on many different issues.
How are we supposed to act justly? When everyone around is doing all they can to cheat? How am I supposed to be kind when I get so angry? And they’re angry at me? How am I supposed to be humble when everyone is so prideful around us? When humility is taken as inability or weakness?

Micah 6:6-7 MSG How can I stand up before God and show proper respect to the high God? Should I bring an armload of offerings topped off with yearling calves? Would God be impressed with thousands of rams, with buckets and barrels of olive oil? Would he be moved if I sacrificed my firstborn child, my precious baby, to cancel my sin?

The world needs people anchored to Jesus ; Not turned by emotion or culture. Not moved by pressure or politics. Having depth in scripture and impact in culture.
IN ACTS 9:10-19 GOD gives a vision to Ananias. Ananias has to move forward. In Acts 18:5-11 God gives a vision to Paul, Paul has to move forward.
A lot of times we think just because God has put a vision in us it will just happen. A lot of times we are sitting on the vehicle God gave us to see the vision come into fruition.
Forward movement may start with a vision but it requires action.

• Moses encounters a bush that is burning but the fire does not consume it - God speaks to man
• Elijah has wind, earthquake and then fire - God speaks to man Jesus is crucified, appears to the disciples teaches them many truths and then instructs them to wait for the gift.
• The upper room, the tongues of fire - God speaks through man.
Acts 2:1-2 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
TPT On the day Pentecost was being fulfilled,[a] all the disciples were gathered in one place. 2 Suddenly they heard the sound of a violent blast of wind[b] rushing into the house[c] from out of the heavenly realm. The roar of the wind was so overpowering it was all anyone could bear! 3 Then all at once a pillar of fire appeared before their eyes.[d] It separated into tongues of fire that engulfed[e] each one of them. 4 They were all filled and equipped[f] with the Holy Spirit and were inspired[g] to speak in tongues—empowered by the Spirit to speak in languages they had never learned!
Because Jesus is the great high priest - he has empowered us with the Holy Spirit

Being Mission Minded means to live intentionally to fulfill the mission given to us. God sent His Son to us - John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus gave us the Great Commission - Matthew 28:18-19 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Jesus commissioned us to Make Disciples, Baptize people, and Teach them. Being Mission Minded means to live intentionally to fulfill the mission given to us.

"Stay the course" is a phrase used in the context of a war or battle meaning to pursue a goal regardless of any obstacles or criticism
Matthew 28:18-20 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore[c] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.[d]

The harrowing experience of my Grandfather's slip on black and ice and the subsequent shattering of his hip and the pain and chaotic experience. "When a poor old lady from the village slips on ice, they start planning her funeral..." The local hospital and medical team weren't prepared to help them. They share the time getting treatment From a little village in Russia to finally reaching help in Helsinki. There are so many little miracles in this account. "The Russian mob had men all around us..." In this part, we go into my Grandparent's time as missionaries in Otradnoye, Russia (Otradnoye, Отрадное, Leningrad Oblast, Russia). From moving with 16 suitcases and traveling on a train as Americans, to sharing the Gospel and why they chose to not pass out flyers and street preach. A while back, just after dinner I sat down and talked with my grandparents Daniel & Linda Mancha about their time in ministry. How being asked to leave one church because of being spirit filled Christians brought them into a local Church that was going to be a vehicle for change for a local community in Los Angeles. In this episode we talk mainly about how walking into a Church and being the only Hispanic family didn't matter because they knew the Lord had lead them there and then we talk about their time church planting, pioneering and taking over a Church that needed healing here in the USA. When you find the truth - you have to put your life into first gear.
Movement has to happen.
You can’t just roll and hope for the best. No matter how much you hope to accelerate you have not put the right things into the right places. First - is the place that God needs to be in order for your life to move forward. Is the truth of the Gospel in the place that it needs to be? What treasure is first in your life?

Ephesians 5:25-33

"The work of the Believer"
Jesus has given us the responsibility of ministry.
Luke 9:10-17 ESV 10 On their return the apostles told him all that they had done. And he took them and withdrew apart to a town called Bethsaida. 11 When the crowds learned it, they followed him, and he welcomed them and spoke to them of the kingdom of God and cured those who had need of healing. 12 Now the day began to wear away, and the twelve came and said to him, “Send the crowd away to go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find lodging and get provisions, for we are here in a desolate place.” 13 But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish—unless we are to go and buy food for all these people.” 14 For there were about five thousand men. Ephesians 4:11-16 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. (Ephesians 4:11-16 NKJV) . Ephesians 5:22-30 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. Ciera shares some of her background and what got her in to this field of work. Also, she shares some scary situations that she found herself in. What does Anxiety cover? What does it look like? Matthew 22:15-22 Taxes were usually the impetus or movement that caused revolutions. Specifically NOT paying taxes. Make no mistake about this - it was a politically motivated position the Pharisees were trying to trap Jesus in.

The context of this particular situation is important. Context is always important when it comes to scripture. However, the basis for the confrontation from the Pharisees was much more than addressing the position Jesus held on paying taxes.

The Herodians and the Pharisees disagreed on a lot of stuff. The one thing that united them was their opposition of Jesus. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” Their common goal was to get rid of Jesus.

The un-relenting Biblical conclusion of Jesus is that He is the Son of God. This biblical understanding creates for us the standard of the Christian faith; Christ is the cornerstone. What did Jesus teach us about love? Jesus taught us to love God first - then love others.

Isaiah 6:1-8 | A message shared in March of 2016 at the PCCF 40 Year Anniversary Harvester's Conference. Held at East Los Angeles College. I believe this message was from the Holy Spirit and spoke to my flawed humanity. I can position people in the wrong place; even making an idol of leadership. After our European Church event "Gathering of the Nations" we had a night of fellowship and grilling at Pastor Nixon's house. We discussed the miraculous birth and life of his son Marcus ; renting the church building from gypsy mafia ; and of course evangelism , discipleship & multiplication.

Using media in the church (the good and bad
I Skyped this interview over 10 time zones and 2 continents. Aleksander Seema is a young Estonian, stepping into a new field of Documentary film making. In his latest film, he follows his grandfather into the forest to find an Estonian flag that was hidden decades before during the Russian Occupation of Estonia. We talked about "Metsa-Venad" or "Forest Brothers" who were basically resisitance fighters hiding in the forests of Estonia.
He shares his thoughts on Big churches and small churches. The good and the bad of using media in the church. How he began questioning alot of the routine of Church and some of the conclusions he's shaped.

In this episode , I sat down with Pastor Marcel Muniz. The Muniz family are planting a church in Pasadena,California. We talked about different subjects including // the facade of Pasadena ; How Pasadena is like Bell Gardens and how Food for less compares to Albertons. Reaching English speaking hispanics / Growing up and dealing with abuse and a broken family and home ; yet, his parents doing the best they could to teach about family and pointing him towards Christ. Playing music , shows at the Allen theater in South Gate , concerts with set your goals , the warriors, etc. Dealing with being a single young man. The battles of dealing with dating and fornication while genuinely trying to serve God and grow. Working on major projects for Los Angeles County and winning awards for the implementation of the outcome of the projects.
Praise Chapel ; the future , the good and the bad. What changes have to be made? Family mentality is one of our greatest strengths and one of our weaknesses. How does Discipleship & Mentorship fit in to all of it?

Reinhard is a new self produced solo artist, currently releasing his material slowly online. He's also an Architect based in Germany for now. We talk about everything from art to depression and dealing with depression as a Christian. Reinhard shares how the Holy Spirit just used people around him and helped him step out of a very challenging time in his life into a refreshed and passionate new chapter. Reinhard was part of a church planting team , everything was great in the beginning but ended with him feeling disillusioned and weak in his faith. During this time he turned to alcohol to help him escape ; currently he is serving in a new church with a clear direction to serve God no matter what happens. If you're dealing with depression or dependency (addictions) we both encourage you to get the attention and help you need, it gets better!

Abigail grew up in Hong Kong in an International Church. She explains how her stomach is Indian but the rest of her is international. I sat down with Abigail and asked about her thoughts for the future, the challenges of being in that type of ministry and specifically the city of Hong Kong. She shared about her desire to help victims of sex trafficking and what her plans are to reach out to them as she develops a plan for ministry.

Ulf is a millenial working amongst refugees. Has a depth of knowledge of the history of Germany and Christianity's influence. Currently he is working with young refugees in helping them get settled and do paperwork. I sat down and asked his thoughts on Evangelism , Discipleship and Multiplication in Germany. One of the most surprising topics is how some German people would rather stand naked in front of you then talk about religion. That's how personal, private and sensitive the idea of Personal Beliefs are considered.

Baruch Sanchez is the son of Pastor Arturo Sanchez a Missionary & Church planter. I sat down with "Papa" he shared some of his story. This was a short podcast, we were not able to get all the details. We recorded outside so please excuse the surrounding background noise. Papa is connected to Paul & Shauna Neville who are planting an international Church in Maulbronn,Germany. Papa's Father ,as he shares, was a journalist in Gambia who was kidnapped and has not been heard from again. He believes his life would be in danger if he were to return.
