Today’s topic is something I struggle to comprehend, because I always feel like the line between trauma dumping, reaching out for support, and constructive vulnerability is often blurry. As someone who is highly self-conscious, socially anxious, and worried about being perceived as a “toxic person”, I constantly find myself under-sharing my needs and lacking genuine connection with others, Which is why on today's episode if you haven’t already guessed, we are going to be talking about Trauma Dumping.

“Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it’s better to leave them broken than hurt yourself trying to put them back together.” ~Unknown On today's episode i am going to be talking about how my need to be valued and loved by the people, especially the men in my life has led me to not really valuing myself and allowing myself to be bullied by these people and taking all the bullying because i feel like it is the only way they will ackowledge me and not leave. I touch on how i need to stop making excuses for people and accepting that i deserve sp much more than the bare minimum. On today's episode i am going to be talking about how i love being in low maintenance friendships vs being in high maintenance  friendships. "Low-maintenance friendships require the least amount of effort to upkeep the relationship. They don't demand any attention, rules, or expectations. But you'll have meaningful meetups every once in a while — which will take no effort to do as you'll love to do it." - Jaleel & Nicole "High-maintenance people live in a world that revolves around them, so the only schedule that matters is their own. They'll often forget about, or even ignore, the times you're busy because they find their time to be more important". - Adam Dachis

With world mental health day being on the 10th of October 2021,i thought it would be a great idea to do an episode on mental health from a varsity student's perspective. World Mental Health Day is an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries.

On today's episode I'm going to be talking about grief, how I've dealt with my grief, how to live through grief and in the words of Dr. Alan Wolfelt “Grief is the internal thoughts and feelings we experience when someone we love dies. Mourning, on the other hand, is taking the internal experience of grief and expressing it outside ourselves. Many people in our culture grieve, but they do not mourn. Instead of being encouraged to express their grief outwardly, they are often greeted with messages like ‘carry on,’ ‘keep your chin up,’ and ‘keep busy.’ So, they end up grieving within themselves in isolation, instead of mourning outside of themselves in the presence of loving companions.”

Abandonment issues stem from a fear of loneliness, which can be a phobia or a form of anxiety. Abandonment issues can present themselves in three insecure attachment styles and in this episode, I will be discussing these three insecure attachment styles using my personal stories and experiences to try and navigate through these issues.

In today's episode, I am going to be talking about reaching the point of burnout, trying to figure out my self worth and being vulnerable with myself and with others.  I am not a professional, so you should always take everything I say with a pinch of salt. All I hope is that listening to this can motivate you to go and do some research for yourself, to ask professionals, and know that you are not alone. I found these sites very helpful towards prepping for this episode, so you should go check them out as part of your own research.https://www.thisiscalmer.com/blog/5-stages-of-burnout  and https://www.helpguide.org/articles/stress/burnout-prevention-and-recovery.htm#:~:text=Burnout%20is%20a%20state%20of,unable%20to%20meet%20constant%20demands.

I regret a lot of things in my life but on top of my long list of regrets, is not having the chance to talk things through with my dad while he was still alive. I wish I could have told him how much I loved him and apologize for resenting him and low-key hating him.

And because He is gone now, I decided to write him a letter, telling him what is on my mind. I know he probably won't hear this or read this because he is dead but I hope that it can bring some healing to someone else.  I hope there is someone out there who will hear this and find peace.
