“Leading Worship in the Rhythm of Motherhood”
Guest – Amber Johnson
In this episode, Amber Johnson, a mom to two beautiful little girls, joins us on the show! Amber spends some time with us talking about the joys and challenges of being a mom and being 150% committed to Worship Ministry.
Amber is a wife to a wonderful man and a mother to two beautiful and sassy girls. She has been in ministry her whole life as many other minister/church leader's children can understand. She has enjoyed working with children, leading events, singing, and helping out with whatever the needs of the church are. Her husband gently pushed her to step out of her comfort zone and take on the role of leading worship on a praise team, rather than singing in the church choir. In her words, “I’ve been hooked ever since.” She works at a veterinary hospital and loves animals. She is thankful to God for the beautiful life He has given her. Motherhood and ministry, especially together, are not easy but they are so worth it.
In this episode, Amber takes us on the journey she walks as a mom and Worship Leader simultaneously. She digs into her daily lifestyle of handling responsibilities in leadership and at home, the challenges of being fully present in both spaces, balancing home when both mom and dad serve, what it looks like to have a support system (or not), the importance of self-care, how her serve affects her little ones and so much more! Amber’s transparency throws us into the heart of a woman’s journey in ministry and how important it is to her that her girls feel valued and loved. If you are a mom and leading worship is your heart’s desire, you NEED this episode!

Pastor Antonio provides us with mind-blowing wisdom on how to navigate through congregational questions or criticisms, and he shares how the structure of the worship ministry directly affects its ability to answer the call to being a multi-cultural church. His transparency gives us a peek into some of his own struggles with stretching and adapting to change and how he pours that into the growth of the ministry. He tells us how we can avoid becoming stagnant as leaders and how every aspect of the worship service is vital to us meeting the needs of a variety of cultures. If you are leading worship in a multi-cultural church or even have the desire to set that type of culture in your current church, don’t miss this episode!
