This early literacy program gives our community a great example of how parents can create a strong routine and strong reading habits that make literacy fun!

This year, an additional focus of our librarians has been collaboration on improving our school library collections, to make them more inclusive and culturally relevant. This work includes researching and finding the best books, creating monthly cultural heritage library displays, and a complete audit of all our library collections. We appreciate all their hard work!

NGSS have been adopted by 47 states in whole or in part and are based on learning Science by doing Science. In an NGSS lesson students are presented with a problem or a question about a real life situation. Students then learn about the situation with the goal of solving it. The ultimate goal is to have students increase their Science and engineering literacy on order to become adults that are able to apply these critical thinking skills to all aspects of their lives.
