Finally when he transformed into a buffalo, Goddess Durga stabbed him with her trident and that was the end of him..............The goddess Rajarajeshwari, also known as Amba, or Parvati, or Durga, is the wife of Lord Shiva and exists in various divine forms. She is the most splendid form of the Cosmic Mother. She is the true divine queen of all kings (Rajarajeshwari), the merciful protective energy of the Cosmos.
Sri Durga devi-Goddess Durga represents Shakthi, the female principle of energy, the counterpart of Shiva. She is the Goddess of valor and slayer of demons that were personifications of ego, ignorance, sloth, etc. We invoke the Mother Durga to help us annihilate within ourselves all negative forces; all weaknesses. She bestows blessings on women for a happy married life. Durga is acalled the Mother Goddess. Durga means “inaccessible”, and she is the personification of the active side of divine “Shakthi” energy of Lord Shiva. She is the ferocious protector of the righteous and the destroyer of the evil. Durga is revered for protection and enlightenment.
Lalita Maha Tripura Sundari is a Hindu goddess and one of the ten Mahavidyas the incarnations of Parvati. She is the Shakti/consort of Sadasiva, the Prakriti to his Purusha. Lalita manifests as Goddess Sati, Goddess Parvati, in Shakta literature. #Lalita TripuraSundari Devi is considered to be the most potent incarnation of Parvati or simply Her saguna roopa. She, along with Sadasiva is responsible for the Pancha-Kriyas - Sristi or creation, Sthithi or protection, Samhara or destruction, Thirodhana or concealment of the world in Maya and Anugraha or final liberation. She is best known as the Devi glorified in the Lalita Sahasranama and as the subject of the Lalitopakhyanam (story of the goddess Lalita) in Hinduism.
Saraswati's name means 'elegant', 'flowing', and 'watery' and this is indicative of her status as one of the early Aryan boundary rivers. The Saraswati River (modern name: Sarsuti), just like the Ganges River, flows from the Himalaya and is considered a sacred source of purification, fertility, and good fortune for those who bathe in her waters. The sacred river, again like the Ganges, then developed into a personified deity.
The three principal forms of Durga worshipped are Mahagauri, Chandika and Aparajita. Of these, Chandika has two forms called Chandi and Chamunda who is created by the goddess Kaushiki for killing demons Chanda and Munda. She is known as the supreme goddess Mahishasuramardini or Durga who slayed the demon Mahishasura.

Annapurna is a combination of two words- ‘Anna’ meaning food and ‘purna’ meaning ‘filled completely’. Annapurna is the goddess of food and kitchen. She is an avatar of Goddess Parvati who is wife of Shiva. She is the goddess of nourishment and never lets her devotees stay without food. She is also considered to be the goddess of Kashi in Uttar Pradesh. Kashi or Varanasi is called the city of light as the goddess does not only provide nourishment to the body, it provides nourishment to the soul in the form of enlightenment. She gives us the energy to attain knowledge.
She is also known as Savitri, and bears the epithet of Vedamata (mother of the Vedas). Gayatri is often associated with Savitr, a solar deity in the Vedas. According to the Skanda Purana, Gayatri is another name of Saraswati, and is the consort of Brahma.
Bala Tripurasundari, also known as Balambika, is variously described as the younger aspect and daughter of the Hindu goddess Tripura Sundari. She is a tutelary goddess of the Tantric Shri Vidya tradition.

After two years of lockdown, we all resumed normalcy and the fun talking to each other face to face. It was fun to be around friends and family and back to office conversations. We could empathise with people who suffered a loss during the COVID period and it was deeply satisfying for us as well. As we progress into a new year, all we can wish for ourselves and our dear ones is good health, happiness and success.

The Government of India awarded him the fourth-highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri in 1977 and followed it with the third-highest honour of Padma Bhushan in 2001.
Vijayadashami also known as Dussehra, Dasara or Dashain, is a major Hindu festival celebrated at the end of Navaratri every year in India and Nepal. It is observed on the tenth day in the Hindu calendar month of Ashvin, the seventh month of the Hindu Luni-Solar Calendar, which typically falls in the Gregorian months of September and October.
Navami or the ninth day during Navratri is considered highly auspicious. This day is celebrated as Mahanavami. Maha Navami - this term means the great ninth day. It is believed that on this day Maa Durga took the form of Mahisasur Mardini to destroy Mahishaura, the demon who was terrorizing our universe.
Durga Ashtami or Maha Ashtami is one of the most auspicious days of the five days long Durga Puja Festival celebrated in the honor of mother goddess Durga. Traditionally, the festival is observed for 10 days in Hindu households bu the actual puja that takes place in the 'pandals' is held over a period of 5 days.
Putana had smeared her breast with a mandana, an intoxicant, to kill Krishna. However, Krishna squeezed her breasts and took her life away (prana), as well as her milk. In pain, Putana screamed, pleading for her release, but in vain. She ran out of the town with Krishna still clinging to her and finally fell dead.
Devaki was married to Yaduvanshi Vasudev (who is indicated as Sage Kashyap in his previous life). Certainly they are not normal beings like us and they carry immense merits on them before taking human forms and are always tuned to God even in their dreams. Such beings cannot be placed in today's human forms.
Raksha Bandhan is a popular, traditionally Hindu, annual rite or ceremony which is central to a festival of the same name celebrated in South Asia, and in other parts of the world significantly influenced by Hindu culture.
After saving mother Earth from the clutches of the cruel asura Hiranyaksha, Lord Vishnu, as Narasimha ,kills his vicious brother Hiranyakasipu and showers his grace on the great child devotee Prahlada! That was in Krutha Yuga and the first part of the boon granted to his dwarapalakas Jaya and Vijaya who attained salvation.
In their second birth as Ravana and Kumbhakarna the Lord descended as Sri Rama and saved the Devas by Killing them. That was in Tretha Yuga
The last and final birth of the dwarapalakas was that of Sisupala and Dantavaktra the personification of evil and terror! Lord Krishna’s avatar, thus comes in Dwapara Yuga that became notorious for the evil and unrighteous acts of kings like Kamsa, Jarasandha and Sisupala. True to the saying ‘ yadayadahi dharmasya glanirbhavathi Bharatha abhyutthana madharmasya thadatmanam srujamyaham’ the Lord took avatar as Krishna in the Yadava community.
Sri Rama chose Kausalya as his mother while Krishna chose Devaki and Vasdeva as his parents. While Sri Rams totally compressed his divinity and exhibited the qualities of an ordinary mortal and suffered all the vicissitudes of royal and family life, it was not so with Krishna. Adi kavi Valmiki praises Sri Rama as “Ramo vigrahavan dhamaha”. Krishna was born in the prison to Devaki in his original resplendent form with four hands, the conch and the disc! The parents were overwhelmed with excitement and indescribable joy. Soon the child transformed itself into an ordinary baby! From the beginning Krishna exhibited his divinity and celestial powers! The prison doors open by themselves, the Yamuna cleaves to allow Vasudeva to take the child to Gokulam and in the terrible downpour Adisesha becomes the umbrella to protect the child!
Who were those 7 sons of Devki and Vasudev killed by Kans, the king of Mathura before the birth of Krishna? In the book Sri Hari-vamsa (2nd chapter of the Visnu-parva) it is written that Hamsa, Suvikrama, Kratha, Damana, Ripu-mardana and Krodha-hanta, who are known as the sad-garbha (six unborn children), are the sons of the demon Kalanemi. They performed intense austerities to worship the universal grandsire Brahma, unbeknown to their own grandfather Hiranyakasipu. Brahma, being satisfied with their extreme penances, granted them the boon of protection from death according to their prayers. Later, when Hiranyakasipu heard about this incident, he became enraged and said, “You have worshipped Brahma without letting me know, thus I have no affection for impudent people such as you. Your father himself will kill all of you. In your next life all six of you will take birth in the womb of Devaki and your father Kalanemi will be born as Kamsa. That very Kamsa will be your murderer.” Due to this curse of Hiranyakasipu they took birth in the womb of Devaki and were killed by Kamsa, the incarnation of Kalanemi.
Prior to this, they were well known by the names Smara etc. and were the sons of Marici Muni. They laughed after seeing the universal grandsire Brahma running after his own daughter. Due to this offence of looking down on a great personality, they had to take birth as demons.
In the Srimad Bhagavata (10.85.47-57) it is mentioned that due to the prayer of Mother Devaki, Sri Rama and Sri Krsna brought back her six dead sons from Sri Baliraja’s Sutala-puri:
marice sat putra urnayam prathame’ntare devah kam jahasur viksya sutam yabhitum udyatam tenasurim agan yonim adhunavadya-karmana hiranyakasipor jata nitas te yoga-mayaya devakya udare jata rajan kamsa-vihimsitah sa tan socaty atmajan svams ta ime’dhyasate’ntike itah etan pranesyamah matri soka apanuttaye tatah sapat vinirmuktah lokam yasyanti vijjvarah smarah udgithah parisvangah patangah ksudrabhrt ghrni sadime mat prasadena punah yasyanti sat gatim
This means that after going to Sutala-puri Sri Krsna told Bali, the king of the Daityas, “O lord of the Daityas, during the manvantara of Svayambhuva, six demigod-like sons were born in the womb of Urna-devi, the wife of Maharsi Marici. Seeing Brahma running after his own daughter (namely Sarasvati) they mocked him. As a result of this sin – hiranyakasipu saksat kalanemi-ksetre – they took demoniac births as the sons of Kalanemi who was the son of Hiranyakasipu. Again from there they were forced to take birth in the womb of Devaki through Yogamaya and killed by Kamsa. Mother Devaki is mourning for them, considering them to be her own sons. Presently they are residing in your abode. To alleviate her maternal sorrow I will take them away from this place to meet their mother. Finally, they will go back to the planets of the demigods having been freed from their curse and from lamentation. These six sons of Marici namely Smara, Udgitha, Parisvanga, Patanga, Ksudrabhrta and Ghrni will eventually attain the Supreme Abode by My mercy.”
The seventh child of Devaki and Vasudeva was Balram, who was the incarnation of Sheshnag. Vasudeva prayed hard to Lord Vishnu to save this child. Then, by the power of Lord Vishnu's Yoga Maya, the child was secretly transformed into the womb of Rohini, another wife of Vasudeva (she lived in Vrindavan), while everyone thought that she had lost that child due to miscarriage. Soon Rohini gave birth to the child and it was grown in the village of Vrindavan.
Devaki and Vasudeva were imprisoned by Kamsa due to the paranoia that had taken root in the tyrant's mind. Her six children were killed, while the seventh Balarama survived after being transferred by divine will into the uterus of Rohini, one of the other wives of Vasudeva.

Karna ruled the Kingdom of Anga. Once while riding along a street in his kingdom, he came across a little boy crying over the oil he had spilled on the ground. On enquiring, Karna realized that the boy’s father had asked him to get the oil for him in a bowl and now, all of it was on the ground.
Being generous, Karna offered to get the same amount of new oil. But the boy refused the offer and insisted that he got the same oil. Unable to leave the place without helping the child, Karna took the soil mixed with the oil in his hands and squeezed it hard with all his might. The oil droplets fell in the bowl held by the child.
As the boy’s face brightened up, Karna heard the wails of a woman. After the oil was entirely poured, Karna realized that the wails were from the soil in his hands. The Mother Earth (BhoomiDevi) was infuriated for the pain Karna caused to her for a mere bowl of oil. She thereby cursed Karna that at a crucial moment in his life she would hold his chariot back in the very same way he had held her in his fists. And this crucial moment, was the one during the Great War when all of a sudden, Karna’s chariot gets stuck in the ground. Karna’s charioteer Shalya refuses to help Karna and Karna is unable to pull it out himself.
While this story focuses on the might and generosity of Karna, it shows us how the intent of the deed was immaterial. The intent was good; it was to help a young boy. Yet, Karna suffered.
At another instance, when Bheeshma asked for water to drink, Arjuna shot an arrow into the ground (Bhoomidevi) and water gushed out to quench Bheeshma's thirst. It is said that Ganga changed her course to quench the thirst of her son.
But here, the earth found no fault. It was fine if Arjuna did it, but when Karna does it, it becomes a point to curse.

As Parshurama only taught to Brahmins, Karna appeared before him as a Brahmin. Parashurama accepted him and trained him to such a point that he declared Karna to be equal to himself in the art of warfare and archery. On a day towards the end of his training Karna happened to offer Parashurama his lap so his guru could rest his head and nap. But while Parashurama was asleep, a bee stung Karna's thigh and despite the pain, Karna did not move, so as not to disturb his guru's sleep. With blood oozing from his wound, Parashurama woke up at once deduced that Karna was not a Brahmin. Parashurama, who had sworn to teach Brahmins only, laid curse upon Karna that he would forget all the knowledge required to wield the divine weapon Brahmastra, at the moment of his greatest need. Upon Karna's pleading, Parshurama gave him the celestial weapon calledBhargavastra, along with his personal bow called Vijaya, for being such a diligent student.
It is a crisp, cold morning. A young couple are walking along the shore of the river. The young woman, Radha, notices a small box floating down the river. “Honey, do you see that box?” Her husband, Adhiratha, looks in the direction of where her hand is pointing to. Adhiratha walks toward the river and wades into the water. He grabs ahold of the box and peers into it. His jaw drops as he looks at the content of the box and calls out to his wife. “Radha, come here and see what I found.” Radha joins her husband in the water and peers into the box to find a small baby wrapped in a silk blanket. The baby has a suit of gold armor on his chest as well as gold earrings. Adhiratha looks at his wife. “Radha, god has blessed us. He knows that we have no children and has given us a child.” The couple adopts the child and names him Karna. Karna is educated in Hastinapura. At the end of her stay with the sage, the sage saw through his clairvoyance that she would not have any issues through her husband in future. Therefore, the sage blessed her with a powerful mantra that would help her get a son from anyone she wished.Kunti was very innocent at that age and therefore wanted to have some fun testing the mantra. She looked at sun god moving in the sky and chanted the mantra in all her devotion. At once, the sun god appeared before her in all his splendour. Kunti could not bear the radiance and effulgence of sun god and prayed that he left the scene. But, the sun god said due to the power of the mantra, he had to bless her with a son and she at once gave birth to Karna. However, due to the boon given by the sun god, her virginity remained untainted.Kunti was highly frightened due to the possible doubts that the people might have regarding her son and was afraid of the social stigma connected with a virgin girl giving birth to a boy child at a very young age. Therefore, she decided to abandon the child.
