Today we will continue our sermon series in the book of Jeremiah called Jeremiah: The Prophet and His Message. Pastor Ben Kramer shares a sermon called "The Message: Under Siege". The Scripture passages are Jeremiah 4 and John 3:1-8.

The people see the armies coming to lay siege to Jerusalem. This is a judgement that we see spoken upon all of Israel for straying from God. Yet the early verses of Jeremiah 4 are a call back to the Lord and to in essence let their old sinful habits die off, and to live a new life for God. We see from Jesus what that means for us today. That to be a part of the Kingdom of God and that we are called to be born again. We need to make an intentional choice to change actions and follow God.

Today we will continue our sermon series in the book of Jeremiah called Jeremiah: The Prophet and His Message. Pastor Mike Engbers shares a sermon called "The Message: A Community That Turns Away". The Scripture passages are Jeremiah 2:1-22 and John 2:13-24.

We can be distracted from God’s love and grace and get sidetracked, even forgetting who God has called us to be. We see that is what Judah is accused of despite all God had done for Israel. Even Jesus encountered this in the cleansing of the temple, but what we have to be thankful for is God sent Jesus to draw us back to Him, and to offer us forgiveness so we have a renewed relationship with the Triune God through the grace and sacrifice of Jesus.

From this, we should remember what God has done – do what we need to root ourselves in the truth of God’s good works and not be distracted by the world, and embrace the renewed relationship with God we have in Jesus.

Today we will continue our sermon series in the book of Jeremiah called Jeremiah: The Prophet and His Message. Pastor Mike Engbers shares a sermon called "The Prophet: Jeremiah's Call". The Scripture passages are Jeremiah 1:4-19 and John 1:6-17.

Jeremiah is called to ministry, he feels ill equipped but God promises He will equip him. The promise for Jeremiah is not one of peace but of struggle and strife for Judah. We are not called into the good, but into the broken. What are we being called into? Do we avoid God’s calling seeking only what is good for us, are we willing to go where there is struggle and brokenness? We are called to serve the risen King. We are equipped not by ourselves, but by God through His spirit.

Today we will conclude our sermon series in the book of Daniel called Facing Lions. Pastor Ben Kramer shares a sermon called "The Four Beasts". The Scripture passages are Daniel 7 and Revelation 1:4-8.

This is a passage that is often connected with the End Times discussions, but what we often neglect is the initial fulfillment that we know happened. In the context of this series, this passage really highlights the spiritual reality of the battles we see Daniel and his friends living through.

Today we will continue our sermon series in the book of Daniel called Facing Lions. Shane Walker shares a sermon called "The Lion's Den". The Scripture passages are Daniel 6 and Revelation 2:8-11.

This would be the second story in Daniel that we are very familiar with and we tell children often in kid’s programs. We see this persistent push to undermine the faith of Daniel, yet Daniel does not fold to the wishes of Babylon. We also see a shift in the King’s view of Daniel and King Darius ends up praising Daniel’s God.

Today we will continue our sermon series in the book of Daniel called Facing Lions. Kevin Dell shares a sermon called "Writing on the Wall". The Scripture passages are Daniel 5 and 1 Peter 5:1-11.

This is one of the more interesting and obscure stories in Daniel. There are some clear images in this reminiscent of Joseph in the OT as well with Daniel interpreting the meaning of the hand writing on the wall. The message Daniel brings is not a positive one, but He is still faithful to the word God calls him to share.

Today we will continue our sermon series in the book of Daniel called Facing Lions. Garry Braun shares a sermon called "Facing Lions". The Scripture passages are Daniel 3 and Revelation 2:8-11.

This is the well known story of Daniel in the Fiery Furnace with Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego refusing to worship the image of Gold that Nebuchadnezzar had created. Nebuchadnezzar asks the question, “What god will be able to rescue you from my hand?” and we see through this story that the one True God can accomplish that.

Today we begin a new sermon series in the book of Daniel called Facing Lions. Pastor David Simpson shares a sermon called "Living Faithfully". The Scripture passages are Daniel 1 and Ephesians 4:17-24.

We are introduced to Daniel, and how he was brought to Babylon to serve under the king. Daniel and three others are chosen, and Daniel is faced with a choice of defiling himself with the food provided or finding another way. Daniel chooses to live God’s way and is blessed for it. Along with this, God blessed these four men with knowledge and wisdom and they stood out among all those who served the King.

Today we conclude our sermon series on Movement: The Book of Acts. Mike Engbers will be preaching a sermon called "Shipwrecked".

We see the final passage in the book of Acts and we see Paul’s compassion saving all involved on the boat who listen to him. There is no distinction and all are valued. As time goes there are opportunities for Paul to witness to those around him and we see that what the world takes as unexpected, God redeems for the purpose of His kingdom in this world. Paul’s journey comes to a conclusion in Rome where he begins preaching. He is where God led him, and God continues to use him. Our faith journey does not end at any specific point… it continues and through it all God is faithful.

Today we continue our sermon series on Movement: The Book of Acts. Mike Engbers will be preaching a sermon called "Paul on Trial".

Paul utilizes the legalities of his times to his advantage, but he also doesn’t speak negatively or attack those who are against him. His message is strongly focused on the gospel and the message he communicates is a witness in how he says it as much as it is in what he says. In the midst of all this it becomes clear – for some our message is mere foolishness as scripture proclaims, but we also know for others the message we share takes root and leads to eternal life. We cannot let the challenges we face, the oppression of those who oppose us, or the disbelief around us dissuade us from being a people who proclaim God’s truth.

Today we continue our sermon series on Movement: The Book of Acts. Mike Engbers will be preaching a sermon called "Moving Forward".

Paul continues forward in ministry but it causes division in the world as people oppose the gospel. This is a spiritual battle. We need to recognize there is a spiritual reality in the midst of our living as people of God’s kingdom and we need to turn to Christ to fight the battle for us as we root ourselves in prayer and faithfulness. As we do this, our witness is transformed as we trust in Christ and not the ways of the world.

Peter is imprisoned by King Herod. God intercedes and works a miracle in his life. A miracle so great that people didn’t believe it was him at the door. For this miracle to happen Peter had to walk forward in faith and listen to God’s messenger. Are we willing to listen to God’s call on our life no matter how incredible it may seem? Our witness hinges on our ability to listen to God calling us even when it seems incredible.

Today we continue our sermon series on the Witness: The Book of Acts. Pastor Mike will be preaching a sermon called "Changed Lives".

This passage showcases two encounters. One with someone who wishes to purchase the power of God and control it, and one who has a heart turned to God. Simon the Sorcerer and the Ethiopian Eunuch are two examples of how we can respond to God. Is faith something you seek to control and transform things yourself, or is faith something you wish to have transform your life? The witness we have is contingent on having our life transformed by the gospel

Today we begin our sermon series on the Witness: The Book of Acts. Pastor Mike will be preaching on a sermon called "Persecution and Prayer".

Peter and John were arrested and use that time to teach and preach and the believers turn to God in prayer. With Christ ascended and his ministry continued through the disciples transforming the world around them, we see the start of persecution and the reaction of the world. Just as the Spirit transforms the world, the world that stands against Christ is also transformed into opposing the church. We are told to expect persecution because the powers of the world are threatened by the powers of the Kingdom. When we experience obstacles how do we respond? Are we trying to appease the world so they’ll like us? Do we push forward in love and grace? Do we pull back? Do we root ourselves in prayer or our own strength?

We see the work of Christ and the Holy Spirit in the lives of the disciples and the believers changed and transformed. The work of God has changed how they live their lives. How is God calling us to live our lives? How are our lives different than the world around us? What does the world see when we live our faith and are supposed to be guided by the Holy Spirit? The transformation is not rooted in us, but in the working of the Spirit in their lives and the fruit of that life is a church that is growing numerically. How are we growing as a church?

Today we are continuing our sermon series on the Transformation: Book of Acts. Pastor Mike will be preaching on a sermon called The Church on Fire.

The coming of the Holy Spirit is most likely the largest transformation the church has ever experienced. While we romanticize it, it had to be unsettling and amazing. We see some who are mocking them while others questioned what it meant, and others were just in the midst of the experience. Where are we in the church as the Holy Spirit works? Are we trying to limit or mock, are we pondering, or are we in the middle of what the Spirit is doing in our midst? We see 3000 added to the number of the church that day after Peter’s sermon. Are we willing to commit to the work of God today as those people did back then?

Today we are continuing our sermon series on the Book of Acts. Pastor Mike will be preaching on a sermon called The Mission Continues.

We see the disciples go to Jerusalem following Jesus ascent into heaven. They prepare themselves for the ministry ahead by rooting themselves in prayer and in identifying another disciple to join them in ministry. We are reminded that as we move forward as a church things will change, though the foundation of who we are won’t. Things will look different and be transformed season to season as we move forward in ministry. We have a part to play in ministry, and sometimes it is preparation. The administration and equipping of the church enables us to do ministry as long as our eyes are on God's kingdom, not building our own kingdom.

Today we are continuing our Holy Spirit sermon series. Past Mike will be preaching on the Spirit as Guide.

While the Spirit convicts us, it also guides us into truth – the truth of Christ spoken through the Holy Spirit. Truth in the world is fluid and ever changing. It is diverse and reflective of our desires. The Holy Spirit, however, helps us see God’s truth. Are we willing to let go of our understanding of truth and embrace the Truth the Holy Spirit leads us to?

Today we are continuing our Holy Spirit sermon series. Past Mike will be preaching on the Spirit as Convictor.

The Spirit shows us God’s way of seeing things in the world - convicting us of our sin and brokenness and helping us see it not from the world’s view but from the view of God’s Kingdom. Are we willing to risk trusting the Holy Spirit and to wrestle with what He is convicting us of? Are we willing to slow down enough to listen?

Today we are continuing our Holy Spirit sermon series. Past Ben will be preaching on the Spirit as promised.

Jesus tells his disciples that His leaving is for their benefit so the Holy Spirit would come. We see that promise realized in Acts 2 on the day of Pentecost. We will look at what Pentecost is, and the importance of the Holy Spirit’s coming. Jesus saw the Holy Spirit as so important, that it was to our benefit if He ascended to heaven. Do we embrace this promised gift from God?

Today we are continuing our Holy Spirit sermon series. Past Mike will be preaching on the Spirit being the Breath of God.

Scripture is clear that the Holy Spirit is God – one person of the Trinity. Why do we believe this, and what does this mean for us practically as followers of Christ? The Holy Spirit moves within us and draws us into the same intimacy of the communion of Father, Son and Holy Spirit
