Jim Wungramyao Kasom, whose soul is deeply entwined in the land of his nativity,through his recently released book, A Collection of poems ‘Cradling Memories of My Land’ and his first book ‘Homecoming and other stories, shares stories of deep emotions, longing, and belonging. He is indeed one of the finest Tangkhul Naga writers right now and has recently represented at various regional andnational literature and book festivals. Horzak Zimik a.k.a. Sopkai Zimik is a YouTuber, photographer and videographer from Ukhrul District. Recently he completed a solo cycle ride from Shillong to Ukhrul, covering a total distance of 693.5kms. He took on the journey from Shillong on Sep 6th and completed the run on 17th Sep after 11 days despite many challenges along the way. He named his ride- Trustride which he said is about "Trusting myself, trusting my bicycle, trusting my guts, trusting the road, trusting people." But he has written a book called 'The universe and our Destiny' along with his father and it was launched on 3rd Sept at Guwahati. Meisum in partnership with All Tangkhul Medicos Association organized a zoom discussion on 2nd June to know more about Covid-19 second wave. Dr. Shomi Raman discussed on 'Early treatment and consultation'. Dr. Wormi Ragui presented on 'Vaccination' and Dr. Soror Raleng shared us on Covid Medical Insurance. Padma Shri Rewben Mashangva also popularly known as Guru Rewben Mashangva (born June 21, 1961)is a folk musician and singer from Manipur, India.He is known for reviving musical tradition of the Tangkhul Naga of Manipur, and use of traditional musical instruments in his songs. Influenced by musicians like Bob Dylan and Bob Marley, Rewben Mashangva has created many Naga tribal folk songs based on blues and ballad rhythms. He is known by different names like, Bob Dylan of the Nagas and King of Naga folk blues, Father of Naga folk blues.He received the National Tribal Award 2011-12, for his contribution to the development of tribal music from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. Rewben Mashangva was featured in the first season of The Dewarists along with The Raghu Dixit Project. On 26th January 2021 on the auspicious occasion of Republic day, he was honoured by the President of India with Padma Shri, the 4th highest civilian award by the republic of India in recognition for his contribution towards art and music. Dr Lightson Ngashangva, Research Scientist at IIT Guwahati is among the 10 promising candidates winning BIRAC biotech innovation grant of 25 lakhs from IIT Guwahati, North East India. The Biotechnology Industry Assistance Council (BIRAC) an enterprise of Government of India launched a special call for proposal under Biotechnology Ignition Grant exclusively for North East Region of India (BIG-NER) to nurture innovative biotech startup ideas for implementation in NER for eligible entrepreneurs, startups, scientists, clinicians and doctors, faculty members, students, research scholars and any innovator. Dr Lightson Ngashangva has a Doctoral degree from Advanced Institute Sciences & Technology (JAIST), Japan. His specialization is on Development of Biodevice or micro-biodevice, specifically biosensor (miniaturized diagnostic device) under Materials Science department. He has Bachelor degree in Chemistry from St. Stephen College Delhi (2009), M. Tech (Chemical Synthesis and Process Technology) from Delhi University, and Master of Sciences from JAIST simultaneously. Chanchui Khayi the reigning Miss Spring 2019 from Ukhrul district in Manipur won the first-ever virtual solo singing competition category at the K-Pop India contest 202 as part of Changwon K-Pop World Festival. Hailing from Teinem village and currently pursuing her studies in Delhi, Chanchui competed with over 1300 applicants from across 18 cities in the country.
