"Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,
“Awake, O sleeper,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit — just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call — one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives,
and he gave gifts to men.” (In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” Ephesians 4:1-16

“For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles — assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace that was given to me for you, how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel. Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of his power. To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things, so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him. “Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands - remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. And falling at Jesus’ feet, he implored him to come to his house, for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. As Jesus went, the people pressed around him. But taking her by the hand he called, saying, “Child, arise.” And her spirit returned, and she got up at once. And he directed that something should be given her to eat. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Hosting the Presence by grace
- Worship starts with grace.
(Ephesians 2:8-9) For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Worship must start with grace.
The more one understands the love of God, His forgiveness and grace, the more one will worship.
Review:

Worship is to give full devotion.
Worship is more an act of the heart than of the lips. Whoever sits on the throne of your heart will be worshiped.
Fame, money, worry, work, service... whatever sits there, it will be worshiped .
( Matthew 6:24)“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
The word service and worship are very close in the Bible.
If it is not full heart, is not worship.
(2 Kings 17:33-34 - NLT) And though they worshiped the LORD, they continued to follow [ served their own gods - ESV] their own gods according to the religious customs of the nations from which they came. 34 And this is still going on today. They continue to follow their former practices instead of truly worshiping the LORD and obeying the decrees, regulations, instructions, and commands he gave the descendants of Jacob, whose name he changed to Israel.
From verses 2 Kings 17:35 to 41 (NTL).
[...] “Do not worship any other gods or bow before them or serve them or offer sacrifices to them. 36 But worship only the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt with great strength and a powerful arm. Bow down to him alone, and offer sacrifices only to him. [...] You must not worship other gods. 38 Do not forget the covenant I made with you, and do not worship other gods. 39 You must worship only the LORD your God. He is the one who will rescue you from all your enemies.”
Don't think it is a small thing. It passed on to the next generation.
(2 Kings 17:40-41 - NLT) But the people would not listen and continued to follow their former practices. 41 So while these new residents worshiped the LORD, they also worshiped their idols. And to this day their descendants do the same.
Why do we do it?
( Isaiah 43:21) The people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.
Worship is for what God is, not for what He does. Here lies the secret for a vibrant worship life. What do you know about your God?
God is love.
(1 John 4:16) "16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him."
Worship is the only gift we can give to God.
Everything else we do in the church ends up returning something to us. Prayer WE can talk with God. Give is that God can bless US. We listen to the message so WE can have guidance for the week.
- Worship must be expressed
Worship is a loving expression of gratitude like a little child to his father.
A little child can't give anything to his father that he did not give first.
Worship is our love expressed to God as a response to His grace toward us. - Mike Todd.
Our lives should express God's worth.
It's not worship if it's not love. It's not worship if it's not expressed.
Loving relationships don't survive without clear expressions of care and passion.
A husband that trusts his altar vows as the only words he ever expressed toward his wife, he will be single faster than any famous NBA or Soccer player you know.
(Psalm 34:1) I will bless the LORD at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my
mouth.
(Psalm 71:8) My mouth is filled with your praise,
and with your glory all the day.
(Psalm 71:14-15) But I will hope continually
and will praise you yet more and more. 15 My mouth will tell of your righteous acts,
of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge.
You worship with your words. When we can't we use our bodies. Or both. But It must have expression.
(Romans 12:1) I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
But also we must reflect that in our conduct.
(Ephesians 4:1) I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a
manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,
Our conduct counts. But I don't want you to think that your conduct will be changed by yourself. Paul is clear where worship as a lifestyle should be expressed:
"Humility, gentleness, patience, bearing with one another in love, unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace"
But he ends reminding us:
(Ephesians 4:7) But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift.
-The results of worship
- Worship results in more grace.
It starts with grace and ends in grace.
Here resides a test, to not think the grace of God is something common.
(Hebrews 12:15-16) See to it that no
one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled; 16 that no one is sexually immoral or unholy like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal.
I need to say that if you don't use the grace of God as the fuel for a life of worship, God will give that blessing to somebody else. I'm sorry, but if you can't worship Him for all the blessings upon your life, for His grace upon your life. God will raise even the stones to do that job.
(Luke 19:39-40) And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” 40 He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”
This is what they were doing:
(Luke 19:18) saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
- Worship changes us.
(Psalm 135:18) The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands.
16 They have mouths, but do not speak;
they have eyes, but do not see;
17 they have ears, but do not hear,
nor is there any breath in their mouths. 18 Those who make them become like them,
so do all who trust in them.
(2 Corinthians 3: 17-18) Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
That's why worship is essentially spiritual, but the result of that "beholding" and "contemplation" will change us in practice. The best way we can honor
God is by expressing a life that reflects our relationship with Him.

-Worship results in freedom and
salvation
Who gets grace will worship no matter the circumstances. But the result is always freedom and salvation.
(Acts 17:25-26) About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, 26and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened.
(Acts 17:30-31) Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Hosting the presence by being a true worshiper
As of right now, We are teaching about the benefits of hosting the presence of God. We talked about Obed Edom, that because he cared for the presence of God because he hosted the ark of the covenant for only three months, his life and household were extremely blessed.
We also talked about David. The man after God’s heart, learned that he always could choose between protest or praise. Because he chose praise instead, he had the key of David to open doors. Anyone that chooses praises instead of a complaint will experience the spirit of grace. Praises will open doors.
We taught about the Tent of David. We learned that David built a tabernacle to host the presence of God. It was different than the tabernacle of Moses. There we had music and worship. David set up a 24/7 schedule of Levites to keep music before the presence of God.
(Psalm 22:3) “Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises [dwelling in the praises] of Israel.
Someone said if we want God “feels at home,” in His dwelling place, let’s fill our house with praises. Let’s start our day with songs of worship.
- But what is worship? Why do we do it? How do we do it?
(John 4:23-24) But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
True worshipers imply there are false worshipers.
The Father is not seeking the best communicators, the rich, the poor, or the black or white. Neither singers. He is seeking a worshiper.
-What is worship?
Worship is to give full devotion. We all worship something, someone. When we react with excitement and amazement toward someone or something that we value or count worth for us, we practice worship.
What are you worshiping? What did you venerate, give mind and heart during the week? What are the subjects that come out of your mouth during the week? What or who do you admire the most? That might give you a good clue of what you worship.
Worship is more an act of the heart than of the lips.
Matthew 15:8-9 “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”
What kind of worship expressions are we going to develop here at Vine Church?
(Psalm 34:1) I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
(Psalm 84:2) My soul longs, yes, faints
for the courts of the LORD;
my heart and flesh sing for joy
to the living God.
(Psalm 100: 1-2) Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! 2 Serve the LORD with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
- Why do we do it? We were created to worship.
We were created to worship God and find all joy in His presence.
(Revelation 4:11) “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
( Isaiah 43:21) The people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.

- How do we do it?
In awe.
First, know that worship is a privilege only for the children of God. Animals, plants, creation (that includes an unbeliever) can only praise God.
(Psalm 150:6) Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!
But worship is for those that were made fire, like Him.
(Hebrews 1:7) “Of the angels, he says, “He makes his angels winds, and his ministers [worshipers] a flame of fire.”
Why can we alone worship God?
(Hebrews 12:28-29) Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, 29 for our God is a consuming fire.
We start with thanksgiving and gratefulness(“let us be grateful”), but we should come to the point of reverence and awe (“with reverence and awe”). Awe is for the only one that is awesome.
A sister was describing her first time visiting Colorado in the fall. Her description of the mix of colors of the scenery was captivating. She was in awe. That incredible see sight brought an awe experience. We must get to that point.
-How do we do it?
In our knees.
(Psalm 95:6) Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!
I get myself low so Christ can be magnified.
(John 3:30) He must increase, but I must decrease.”
-How do we do it?
Shamelessly.
(2 Samuel 6:14) And David danced before the LORD with all his might. And David was wearing a linen ephod.
I specifically used the words of Michal, David’s wife that was not a worshiper and could not understand that.
(2 Samuel 6:21-22) And David said to Michal, “It was before the LORD, who chose me above your father and above all his house, to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the LORD—and I will celebrate before the LORD. 22 I will make myself yet more contemptible than this [...].”
Learn to lose a little before God. The stage structure is not to state that we are here for an audience performance. The worship team is here only to perform before a one-person audience, that is our holy God.
A simple worship act for beginners is to raise your hands.
(Psalm 141:2) “Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!”
The “lifting up of my hands” means two things: an expression of victory. Expression of surrendering. That’s what worship is all about. God fights our battles while we seek Him in worship. He gives us to victory as we surrender to Him and praises.
-How do we do it?
Passionately.
The problem is that many are expecting to feel in order to worship God. But the feeling follows obedience. Not the other way around.
A definition of worship that every believer learns in is that worship is for what God is, not for what He does. Here lies the secret for a vibrant worship life. What do you know about your God?
Today I want to remind you that God is love.
(1 John 4:15-16) “15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
The more you understand the love of God for you, His forgiveness and grace, the more you will worship. Two stories come to mind:
(Luke 7:41) “A certain moneylender had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii [20 months’ wages] and the other fifty [two months’ wages]. 42 When they could not pay, he cancelled the debt of both. Now which of them will love him more?”
(Luke 7:47-48) Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven—for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.” 48 And he said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
And the story of Mary, that pours and expensive perfume (almost a year salary) on Jesus’ feet.
(Matthew 26:10) But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me.
How does the world see our passionate worship expression?
(Matthew 26:8) And when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste?
-Conclusion:
It is all about one realize how much God loves them.
(Romans 8:35) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
(Romans 8:38-39) For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
You can not change the love of God for you, but the love of God will change you. It will make you a true worshiper.
Hosting the Presence - by using the key of David
(Revelation 3:7-8)

How is that possible? Doesn't Jesus have all the key?
The door of heart have lock only from inside.
(Isaiah 22:22) And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David. He shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

But what is the key of David? The fact of being called as " Key of David" show us something related to attitudes and habits that characterized the life of David. What is the most important lesson and practice in David's life we can learn?
The problem of complaint
Our problem is that we are used so much to complain instead of to praise and sing thanks.
Complaining is part of our human nature. So instead of wake up this morning rejoicing and praising the Lord, you moaned and groaned protesting that you woke up, you just discarded the key.

GENERATIONAL BLESSINGS
A source of faith are the promises in the future, but we should never ignore the works of God done in the past. He is faithful to accomplish all His promises in the future, and the place to recognize His faithfulness is in the past miracles. That was the source of blessings that Jacob released upon his grandchildren.
Jacob was very old at the moment he would bless his family. He was close to his departure, so he calls his sons for a final blessing. It comes the moment to bless his second to last son, Joseph, who Jacob had thought was dead for years. The Bible tells us that the other sons had told Jacob that Joseph had been attacked by a wild animal and was dead (Genesis 37). After about 13 years later, Jacob learned that Joseph was still alive and in a position of great honor in Egypt. Joseph brought his father and his family to Egypt, gave them a place to live and took care of them. Now Jacob is 148 years old and was about to die of old age. When Joseph came to receive his father's blessing, he brings his two sons with him, Manasseh and Ephraim.
When Jacob saw the two boys, he asked who they were. Imagine the joy Jacob felt. He never thought he would see Joseph again, and now he was able to bless even his grandchildren.
"The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life long to this day, the angel who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the boys; and in them let my name be carried on, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth." (Genesis 48:15-16)
COUNT THE BLESSINGS OF THE PAST
Can you see the favor of God lining up things for you since your grandparents? Jacob, a man of faith, realized that since his grandfather Abraham, God was working to bless him, and that blessing should not be stopped in him. The Lord wants to bless us enough that we will become a blessing to all those around us. Our children and our children's children will be blessed.
But maybe you gave up on your dreams, like Jacob before finding Joseph. So many years passed that you have quit believing there is any blessing to come. You began to accept that you will never find the right person to marry or never have your own business. It
may be that you have reached your limits, you have gone as far as you could, but God will open doors before you that you never imagined could be opened. God has prepared things for you that you cannot understand today, keep believing.
You may have not the best training, nor are you next in line, but somehow you will be chosen to be promoted.
God has favor you didn't expect. You will experience things you don't deserve. That is God's grace in your life. With that faith, Jacob passed the state of defeat to the position of blessing his next generations.
Jacob's act of blessing his offspring was out of a heart of faith, he knew how abundantly blessed he was. Do you have eyes to see all the blessings that are being passed on to you since your grandparents?
"By faith Jacob, when dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, bowing in worship over the head of his staff."(Hebrews 11:21)
THE EARLY BLESSINGS
With God's blessing upon our lives, we can desire something, and God will do something even greater. He is an expert in exceeding our expectations.
In the story, Jacob called the family and surprisingly says to Joseph and all other sons that Ephraim and Manasseh would be considered his own sons (Genesis 48:5). Now the grandchildren would receive the same inheritance as the children. That was very odd at that time. No grandchildren could receive a blessing that was meant for the children. They had to way their time for the blessing. But the Lord is speeding things in your life as He did to Ephraim and Manasseh. In Christ Jesus, God decided to bless you not with some of the blessings, but with all spiritual blessings that Christ has brought us from heaven (Ephesians 1:3)!
Those boys received an inheritance they did not deserve at that time. The blessing had nothing to do with their deserving, it was God's undeserved favor. Some things would take years to happen in other people's lives, a debt that has to be paid, an addiction that has to be broken, a place in the business to be achieved. But God will do for you what he did for those two boys, He will launch you years ahead, God will shorten the years for you. You will see things happening faster than you imagine. Believe it, the miracle will come quickly because you have honored God. You decided, "as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD", so things will speed up in your life. What could take a lifetime will happen in a fraction of time. The blessing will come before you know it.
One thing that frequently happens is jealousy against you when the favor of God touches your life. We don't know for sure, but maybe the other Jacob's sons got resentful because their nephews were now counted as heirs of Jacob's blessings. God might test some people because of the blessings that overflow in your life. You don't have to explain why you are blessed, and others around you don't. It might seem unfair for some people, and that might cause strife against you. The truth is that the favor is not fair because it is always undeserved. They will say it is just luck, but we know it is the favor of God. You don't have to convince people to like you. Some people simply do not accept your success. If they leave you, it's because they are not part of your destiny. Don't waste your time with people who don't celebrate the victories of the Lord in your life. Do not apologize for the favor received. You did not choose, but you were chosen by God. And, please, don't be that person that stumble because of the blessings upon other brothers.
YOU CAN START A NEW GENERATIONAL BLESSING LINE
I know I asked you to consider your past, but only the things that point to God's grace. Some brothers look back and find no reason why the Lord would bless them now. It doesn't matter, now you are
in Christ Jesus, and His blessings are passed on to you. That blessing does not depend on anything of your past. The two boys were born in Egypt. The mother of these boys was Egyptian, and probably she did not serve or knew the Lord. Most certainly, they were idolaters. Even if Joseph taught them about the Lord, surely they had to submit to some sort of pagan rituals like other Egyptians.
You may think that you are disqualified for God's blessings because you came from a family that didn't worship Him. But the blessing upon you shows God's grace even more. You may have many reasons why you think you don't deserve the blessings, however,
"Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ." (Ephesians 1:5 MSG)
So, despite your past, or mistakes and whatever your family did, the Lord adopted you. You don't need to fear any hereditary curse because God chooses you to start a blessed generation, a hereditary blessing. You are the one who will affect your offspring because of the blessing that overflows over you.
THE UNEXPECTED BLESSING
As part of the ancient tradition, the eldest son would receive a double portion, and that son has to be on the right hand of the blesser. Joseph placed his firstborn, Manasseh, on the right of Jacob and Ephraim on his left. However, Jacob crossed his arms and placed his right hand on the second son, Ephraim, and his left hand on Manasseh. Joseph saw this and said, "No, my father, Manasseh is my firstborn." But Jacob answered, "I know what I am doing. Manasseh will be great, but Ephraim will be greater."
This story shows that God does not always bless the way we expect. Ephraim was not next in line, he was not qualified and did not deserve it, but God ignored all tradition and did something unexpected. God can take those behind in line, those who do not have the position, those who feel left out and put them in front. God likes to choose people who others think are not qualified or deserving.
You may have made mistakes or not be so talented, but God loves to show His grace to this kind of person.
God is about to cross His arms and put you in a position you couldn't obtain, a position for which you were not qualified, and for which you were not next in line.
You are about to enter an unexpected favor, unexpected promotion and unexpected advances!
David's brothers were older, stronger and more talented, but God crossed His arms and favored the least. Gideon said that his tribe was the smallest in Israel, his family the smallest of his tribe, and the smallest in his father's house. But the Lord said to him: "go in your strength!" What was a weakness to Gideon was actually a strength, because God crossed His arms.
He will show you an unexpected and undeserved favor. You were not qualified for it. You were not next in line, but God will show you favor by crossing His arms.
Pray now.
"Lord, you have been so good to me. I can see your mighty hand working from generation to generation. Your favor and grace are always reaching me. Thank you. I pray today I can see your blessings during this whole day. That your blessings may be multiplied and overflow over my family, in Jesus' name."
