Hooked on Wild Waters is a kayak fishing podcast hosted by Drew Gregory, who also hosts the Hooked on Wild Waters digital TV show - hookedonwildwaters.com. Unlike the polished TV show, the podcast take listeners behind the curtain, in a much more raw and real manner. Drew and his guests will discuss any number of topics; tips & tactics, the kayak fishing community, tournaments, behind the scenes discussions about each TV episode and interviews with manufacturers and discussion on the latest industry equipment.

Dr. Noisewater (Ken Morris) and I discuss the 2020 tournament trail schedules, focusing on KBF Pro Series, Trail Series and the Hobie BOS. I talk about where I'll be fishing next year, and why, and get into the formats, payouts and any details that we currently know about the 2020 trails. Drew shares about his latest Tournament VLOG, and addresses some of the controversial techniques that were mentioned in it: why he uses straight braid 95% of the time, why he uses longer rods, why he focuses on just being GREAT at a few techniques instead of learning them all and being just "ok" at all of them. Plus, Ken brings up a good topic about the fall transition.

Dr. Noisewater (Ken Morris) and I talk with Matt Ball about the adventure he and I shared as we rode together in the HOWW RV from his home in Ohio all the way to Hot Springs, AR, for this event. The adventures and memories made on this trip will make you laugh, and Matt and I will be talking about them for a lifetime. This is yet another reason you want to get involved in kayak fishing tournaments like this.
Drew almost pulls off an episode without his trusty Dr. alongside. However, Drew's plan doesn't quite work out as he would have liked. Either way, the duo dives into all that went on at iCast and Drew shares a few funny stories, products he really likes and kind of gets put in the doghouse by his wife at the end of this one...it's one you don't want to miss!
Drew is back from being knocked out with some sort of virus, and he has A LOT to unpack with Dr. Kenneth Noisewater (Ken Morris)! They discuss watching Eric Jackson on FLW Live fresh off his 2nd place finish on Lake Champlain. Drew gets into some of his personal feelings on working in kayak fishing full time and how he has or has not evolved as much as he feels he should. A little history is recapped about kayak fishing, manufacturers and the sort of mythical rivalry between he and Chad Hoover. The two close the show with an informative "Ask Drew" segment where Kevin Keyes writes in and asks Drew to pair his rods down to just 6 combos and what length/action they would be.
Fresh off of 2 golds and one silver medal, Drew shares the recap of the first ever Pan American Kayak Bass Championships. He shares how he caught his fish, what he thinks about the format and the future of this event. Dr. Noisewater also has a tournament story to share, as he claimed a title on Lake Erie. The duo also discuss a user question sent in by Garrett Pate, about how to catch shoal bass (or smallies) in low, clear water conditions. Dr. Noisewater and I are back from the history making tournament on Nickajack Lake, in Tennessee, where the FLW Tour and Kayak Bass Fishing held the first joint event. While Ken and I may not have finished as well as we’d like (and we get into that), we were able to score an interview with the winner, Bogdan Korostetskyi, and I think you’ll be impressed and surprised by some of what he has to say!

How in the world did I finish 2nd out of 461 anglers? It wasn’t as expected as you might think. I am still in as much shock as anyone about this, but Dr. Noisewater (Ken Morris) and I discuss how we both ended up doing so well in an event that we did so poorly pre-fishing for. It just goes to show, we’re all just one small clue away from being on the right pattern that can lead to a championship! Blessed to have two 2nd place finishes, a 5th and a 16th in this event. One day, I promise, I’m gonna win one of these!

The “Ask Drew” segment is back and Drew answers one of the listeners questions regarding “how long do you keep fishing a lure until you make a change?” There is also a good bit of nonsense and an amazing analogy made by Drew regarding if you tell your wife you’ll be home by 7, you better be home by 7 or earlier! You’ll just have to listen to really understand this one…

Lance and I have known each other for a long time, well before the tournament trail ever started, and in my opinion he is one of the best river anglers out there.
