The Shack has taken a couple weeks off so we're back to cover the last couple weeks as well as look ahead to the Egg Bowl. We take a look at the last two Rebel wins including a College Gameday victory over Texas A&M. From there Chef gives us the rundown of the various coaching changes happening around the league. What jobs are all open right now and who are the potential candidates at each place? We discuss a highly anticipated Egg Bowl, arguably the biggest Egg Bowl since the 2015 season. The Rebels come in as a top 10 team and are going for the best regular season finish in program history while the Bulldogs are on their own hot streak after a big win on the Plains in Auburn. We give our picks for the week and finish off with a score prediction for the Egg Bowl.

Just when you think we couldn't possibly have a crazier game than last week, Neyland Stadium shows us how wrong we were. On this episode we start out on the startling scene in Knoxville with reactions to both the atrocities from the fanbase and the game itself (0:58). It's a huge weekend in Oxford this weekend against LSU. Eli Manning's number will be retired which brings a new look to the endzones. Episode 57 takes on some big headlines this week as there were some exciting headlines in the world of College Football. We start off with the interview that went viral earlier this week of Deion Sanders (1:19). Our own Nick Suss caused Prime Time to take off in the middle of the interview due to how he was addressing the Jackson State head coach. The Shack gives their takes and thoughts on the whole debacle. Next we take on the headline that has taken the College Football world by storm - SEC expansion (10:52). Texas and Oklahoma have reached out to the SEC to potentially join the conference and there is a lot to consider with that. We discuss whether we like it or not, how feasible it will be, and the possible repercussions on Ole Miss and the rest of the NCAA. We'll keep updated with this topic as it develops throughout the month. Finally we finish up by making our picks for this year's honor of wearing number 38 (30:00). Welcome to Episode 56 of the Bait Shack. The guys talk about a busy week in sports starting with the UFC fight over the weekend. The Conor McGregor fight didn't go exactly as anticipated so we discuss that as well as some of the other fights of the night. The MLB Draft got underway on Sunday and the Rebs got three of their own taken in the 20-round event (12:20). That of course means that Rebs baseball returns a large chunk of the team so hopes are high again for next year. We finish off the episode talking about the busy week in MLB Baseball (26:10). The Bait Shack is back after a big weekend for Ole Miss baseball. The anglers discuss the big opening SEC weekend sweep of Auburn (1:20) while the Rebs sit atop the SEC West standings at 3-0. Welcome to Episode 14 of The Bait Shack! Sometimes when you are out on the water wetting lines you just wind up getting skunked, maybe it was the bait, maybe it was the spot, maybe it was the technique… does not matter you got skunked. That is how this weekend felt. We got beat on the hardwood and in the Tiger Swamp. Losing is never fun, losing to your rival by less than a touchdown after committing 6 turnovers and giving up 308 receiving yards to a true freshman is a tough pill to swallow knowing we were right on the doorstep until the very end even with all our miscues.

For as electric and thrilling as this season was it seems like a rare monsoon in Death Valley paired with celebratory fire extinguisher discharges smothered the flames of excitement for a few hours after the clock struck zero. Now that the rain has cleared, let’s take this time to thank the players, staff, and everyone associated with our program and others to be able to give us as close to a season as possible during a global pandemic. We would like to thank them all for their tireless efforts to provide us with entertainment and enjoyment during an extremely trying time.
