Life is meant to be lived through us - body and soul. To activate this part, I get curious and use improvisational thought, ask questions and create characters. By connecting with creativity, I've invented my practice.
AND, I'll share what I'm learning! My intention is to hand you the secrets that I wish I had growing up, to live a happy creative life.
How to make that Leap into creative living comes when you expand your community and see what you're drawn towards.
What I learned from Laura-Ann:
The way, the life path, doesn’t need to look a particular way. There are opportunities, doorways, that don’t look like they are and then they are! Not all will work out but you will at least try and gain experience and connections and insights and stories. How to look at creation from inside out: within a job that you may not see as your dream job... Take your access point any way you can!Make an impression that lasts by giving them value.Show up with all your tools and know that you can leave anytime you want but you choose to stay because it's interesting work.

Wondering where you went wrong in choosing that job, that friend, that consultant? I got tired of making the same mistake over and over again so I found something that might be helpful to make conscious and better decisions without beating myself up.
Trina Hamilton recently shifted her 30-year career in corporate education and leadership development to something more deeply personal. She helps leaders recover from the chaos around them so they can lead from the best parts of themselves—a discipline she learned through her own experience with addiction. Trina founded the organization Recover to Lead, which provides leadership coaching, resources and services that helps leaders live and lead with resilience, integrity, and purpose.
I interviewed my podcast coach as my first guest because I failed in the audio on my first interview. It took Mary and I 3 times to make this episode and I don’t regret a thing! On Episode 6 Mary and I dive directly into her topics about having the biggest and sudden change in her professional career, her injuries, the radio industry, passions, the podcasting business, and connecting with others.
Mary Chan is a Podcast Strategist, Voice Coach, and Voice-Over Artist who believes in empowering you with the self-confidence to find your voice.
During her 20-year career in radio, coaching radio announcers and small business owners on how to read a script and bring it alive off the page, she's heard first hand how your voice is the key to connect emotion to emotion with your listeners to build awareness, credibility, and influence. In 2018, Mary founded Organized Sound Productions, a podcast production and consulting company and today, you can find her on her own podcast "The Podcaster's Guide to a Visible Voice" where you will empower yourself to amplify your voice to speak with courage and spirit.
Concentration is a muscle and Passion is joy meeting fear. Put them together and you have action that is unstoppable! This is how to create in this world with all the intrinsically motivated goals, or cool stuff.
Living with the strong urge to avoid loving and calm the community, I realized there was more work to do to uncover this default. As I continue my work on self awareness, I'm discovering in Bessel van der Kolk, "The Body Keeps the Score," alarming insights. Drawn towards understanding conflict, I also discovered this story that created a peace within me to understand the way things could be; the Village Of Calm. There's a connection to creating the awareness in our body and mind to how we are being and its effect on others. We have to be the first to put it forward in order to receive it. When it doesn't come back, then it’s up to us to create a calm place for others. When it does, it's a beautiful connection.
Underneath all the distractions is something truly amazing. Taking a moment to find your life, one that is fulfilling and meaningful and happy, takes one small act of courage. Let me whisper courage in your ear and possibly a secret.
How I learned to zen out in traffic. I made my daily frustration, driving to work and back, my spiritual guide to end suffering for all by stopping my crappy attitude.
Fear of judgement of others freezes dreams. I set the tone of my show in this shortie episode about how I’m honest about my fear of starting any creative project. My way out, is to make a fool of myself to save you, and I am just getting warmed up. Because, I'm seriously getting inspired to share, even with a lot of imperfections, issues and a love for self discovery, you too can make cool stuff in this world.
Working without a net and balancing my life, I've learned the hard way how to navigate the chaos. Getting help and working with others, I discovered I had all the answers within myself. I just didn't have to do it all alone. #dontdolifealone
