Autism -A Different Operating System ! When it comes to understanding autism, autistic people are the true experts of the autistic experience. Autistic Conversations is a series of interviews by an autistic "expert by experience" of autistic people and others in the autism community who share their experiences, anecdotes and advice with you.
About my guest:
Martin Griffin (CEng, FIMMM, CGeol, EurGeol, FGS, RoGEP) is a UK based Geotechnical Engineer who is neurodivergent (autistic, dyslexic, and dyspraxic) and visually impaired. To date, he has 20+ years professional experience in ground engineering. His passion for ground engineering stemmed from his childhood, when he started collecting minerals and rock samples and designing Lego mega-structures in his bedroom.
Now, in his early 50s, Martin is living his dream, working for an international multidisciplinary consultancy, providing innovative and robust solutions. He is involved in using either laboratory or in-situ tests to derive soil and rock properties in the design of most types of structures and solving other engineering problems as a Geotechnical Engineer and understanding these natural materials, alongside geological processes and geohazards associated with the proposed infrastructure as an Engineering Geologist.
Martin can be contacted via his Linkedin profile :

Unlike my previous guests, although autistic, Martin does not work within the autism field. He provides valuable insight during our conversation about what it is like to be autistic in the field of engineering.
