Welcome to my cosy mountain home: a place where nature thrives, the air is fresh, the community is strong and the Fair Folk are ever-present. My name is Hannah, and I'm a qualified naturopath with a deep passion for herbal wisdom, Celtic paganism, and living with ritual and reverence for the earth and our bodies.
Here on the Old Ways for the New Age podcast we discuss all things energetic herbalism, astrology, plant spirit experiences, seasonal living and have conversations with change makers who dedicate their lives to making the world a better place.
In this week's episode Hannah shares a herbal spotlight on herbs for autumn, rosemary & thyme. She covers herbal actions & correspondences, as well as magickal properties & folklore of each herb, and ways to include them in your daily life & ritual time.
This week I delve into the festival of Samhain - also known as All Hallows Eve, or modern-day Halloween. I discuss its history, some of it's folklore, plants associated with the season, and traditional food and drink prepared for this celebration.
This week I discuss the three well-known archetypes of maiden, mother & matriarch, as well as a fourth archetype that may surprise you! We get into how these archetypes can be worked with in your own life, and how they relate to nature and the wheel of the year.
This week I share part 2 of my interview Ellene the New Age Naturopath on all things to do with honouring your ancestors. We discuss tips to keep in mind when working with ancestors, setting boundaries when undertaking ancestral healing, her own craft and offerings and more!
This week I interview Ellene the New Age Naturopath on all things to do with honouring your ancestors. We talk about her Greek lineage, how to connect with your ancestors in practical ways, how to work with them in ritual, about ancestral trauma and ancestral healing and so much more. This is part 1 of this interview, so check back next week for part 2.
This week on the podcast Hannah discusses her top 5 rituals to begin this autumn to embrace the season & support your immunity leading into the colder months ahead.
This week marks the beginning of Autumn, so we explore the topics of the Autumn Equinox (Mabon), Root Medicine and How to Ground.
Mabon was a time of harvest so Hannah talks about how this corresponds to the basic needs of survival and how this energetically mirrors the Root Chakra. She discusses the history of Mabon, how different it is now in modern times, and how to still immerse yourself in this traditional celebration, and work with this energy.
Kristy delves into the interesting subject of Root Medicine, best practices for how to harvest roots and goes into detail about Burdock Spirit. She also tells us ways to Ground or Earth and how this benefits the body and our wellbeing.
