In today's episode, we talk about how everyone has different exposure, different perspectives - how everyone is unique, and yet we deem whether we can do something based off of if someone else can do it or someone else's experiences.  How do we know what's even possible if we haven't experienced it ourselves?  If we don't have the exposure - it can be harder, but with the internet we can go out and find that exposure - and grow.

A few years ago I wrote a book called Launch Then Build that I never published, and this is chapter 10 from the book in this format!

Today, I decided to start a new "mini-series" in Walk On In, where we will go through certain companies, their history, how they grew - and see what we can learn.  Barstool seems like an obvious choice to start with, but the fact that it grew from a small local newspaper in Boston that Dave Portney handed out to people on the subway into the behemoth that it is today - with 100s of pieces of content going live every single day - it's an incredible journey, incredible story, and there's a lot we can learn about from it.

In today's episode, we talk about how EVERYONE and their mother has heard, seen, or wants a "side hustle" something that makes a little extra cash every month - and I honestly have a big problem with it - because it limits you.  If it's a part of the journey, then great.  If it's all you want to do, then why put in the effort at all?

Have a big announcement today - the network that Walk on In is under has finally gone live - Black Table Society.  Very, very excited to finally announce this as well as two other podcasts going live of Ballmer's Peak and The New Age - and now that Black Table Society is live - I'm personally trying to figure out the whole marketing arm of it, and right now it's short form video marketing - taking the recordings from all the episodes, cutting them up into 30 second - 1 minute clips and posting them on all the different platforms - and how to get more engagement, how I'm figuring it out, and I kinda just go on a word vomit of all the things I'm concentrating on and focusing on!

Today we talk about how to take risks, how to mitigate that risk, how to break it down into bite size pieces so that you can do what you need to do to reach your goals, your vision, your dreams, but not be too risky doing it.  I've heard too many times that people can't start something because it's too risky, too scared to fail, to lose money, to not have it work - but if you're willing to put in the work ahead of time, you can mitigate your risk to workable levels, and keep pushing on.

I tell a story in this episode of dealing with the feeling of not wanting to do anything at all.  Maybe you're feeling bad, maybe you're busy, maybe you got too much going on, and that's how I feel and I did NOT want to record this or upload it, but I did it anyway and pushed thru. I talk about how you can push thru too, and sometimes, that's what you gotta do.  If you put in the work, it's going to work.  If you don't put in the work, it isn't going to work.

Today Thomas is back and we talk about and through some interesting and different techniques that businesses have used - primarily in marketing in their businesses - and the thing is that most of them don't cost a ton, or are ALREADY built into the business model - and how can we do this in our own lives, projects and things we're working on?  And should we go outside of the box, or AROUND the box?

No matter how hard you try, you can’t control the beliefs, mindsets, or opinions of others. The only thing you can actually control is what YOU think, how YOU see yourself, and what YOU believe. This is chapter 8 from a book I wrote called Launch then Build - and it's about YOU - how you can control what you can control, and that includes yourself - and so you need to push yourself forward, and stop allowing yourself to hold you back - other people can think, say and define you however they'd like, but how you define yourself is what will lead you to the next level.

This episode is special to me - because our guest is my wife, and she's very special to me.  She's an incredible human being, an incredible wife and an incredible mother and now she's got her heart set on starting and building her new company, Bee Blooms.  She's doing floral design for in-home and weddings/events - and she's just hit the ground running.  She has every excuse in the world to not do it, but today we walk about actually getting started, actually getting out of her comfort zone - and if you're trying to start something - you just gotta keep on pushing.

On today's episode with have Nik Biddinger - he's been in the asphalt industry for years working with a company his father built, and over the past year or two he's split out and started his own asphalt company, done business coaching and is now doing life coaching, and as we started talking we ended up on the topic of success - being "successful" doesn't just mean being rich or starting a successful company, it means success in all areas, what that actually looks like and what you can PRACTICALLY do to get there.

Another episode from the book, Launch Then Build that I wrote 2 years ago - all about excuses.  Excuses for why people don't start a business, start a project, start a side gig or a youtube channel or write a book or whatever it is.

Today we talk about the fact that you don't have to reinvent the wheel - you don't have to come up with some brand new completely different and new idea, you have to look at what's out there in the market, make a slight change/improvement, and execute.

Ben came onto Walk on In - and I feel like we're really hitting our stride here as I have no relationship with Ben, he dm'd me on Twitter and asked to come on because he's working on a new business and wanted to ask a few questions - I love the fact that he isn't one of my friends, he really is just out there starting something.  And Ben is doing everything "right," he's studying, he's following what has worked in the past - it just isn't working for him and so we break down what he is doing, how he is doing it, and some options for him to think on to get his project moving forward.

Today on Walk on In - we have another guest from across the pond - Jordan.  I've worked with Jordan for YEARS and he's one of the most creative and innovative people I know - and as he sets his sight on creating his own business that is solely run by him (as over the past 10-12 years he's been involved in multiple other businesses with other people that have grossed $50 mil+) he's looking at where the red oceans are, where the blue oceans are - and Web2 vs Web3 opportunities.  I'd encourage you to check this out if you're looking for the "next" opportunity - as it makes a lot of sense the more you dive into it.

I'm the kind of person who can just talk, just write, and it just kind of flows.  I don't need to know all the details, I do and then move on from there.  BUT I know there is a large group of people who can't do that, and want to know everything before they start - and that's who this episode is for.  It's called analysis paralysis and the fear of not knowing, or the fear of failure stops you before you even get started - and in this episode we go over what it is, and hopefully it rings out true so that you can fix it, and we talk about that too!

Today on Walk on In, we have Taylor with co-hosts Jack and Dom talking about Motivation - Jack has been on the show before talking about his business, and Dom is a general contractor and owns his own business.  We start off the day talking about motivation - why they started, why they keep pushing through the hard times and then we deep dive into a topic that I wasn't really expecting - around money - how much do you charge, how do you figure out how much to charge, and at the end of the day - we're doing these things to make money.  That seems broad but we get into it and honestly this episode was just a lot of fun!

Don't tune this episode out just because it has NFT in the title...if you have questions or wonder about social media marketing, this episode is for you.

I got a message on my Twitter DM's from Mats about his NFT project/game that him and a team are building, and the biggest thing they're struggling with is marketing.  I get it, marketing seems to be this thing that certain people are really good at, and most people aren't.  It's got this shroud of haze around it - but it really only comes down to one thing.  Make sure to check out @FungeaNFT on Twitter, they're doing something that really no one else is doing right now - actually building something BEFORE they release it!

Over the years I've seen/heard/experienced hundreds of excuses for why you don't go after a dream, a goal, a business, a project, a youtube channel, writing a book, whatever it is you don't want to do - and the biggest one and my favorite one is "I don't know how"

In this episode we go through why that's completely irrelvant, and shouldn't control our thoughts, actions or stop us from going after what we want to accomplish.

It's just an excuse.

This episode of Walk on In is special - because it's the first episode we've had with a current business owner who is ALREADY doing over six figures a month.  I've watched him build his business from scratch and am honored and grateful to call him a friend.  He's going out and getting what most people sit on the sidelines and hope and pray they could do one day - and he's absolutely killing it.  We talk about getting over yourself, expansion, working with a partner, and some other topics in the area of online businesses/consulting!

Today on Walk on In we talk with Doran - who is on the Core Team of a crypto business/protocol called Defrost Finance.  I know for some of you - you've already tuned out even reading this or listening to it because I typed the word Crypto, but believe me - if you're looking to start something Crypto is a space that's crazy at the moment, and we talk about a lot of interesting things, the differences between Web 2.0 businesses and Web 3.0, what Defrost actually does, where they sit, and even some crazy things like the Luna/UST spiral that happened a few weeks back.

About 2 years ago, I wrote a book called Launch then Build.  Had the whole thing edited, got the manuscript, and all I had to do with actually self-publish it, and I never did.  I've been sitting on 19 chapters (50k word book) for 2 years, and now with Walk On In going to finally get the information and content out there - and this is the fourth piece of that.  What would happen if we actually intentionally, purposefully devoted 20% of our time to our dreams, our goals, whatever project or business we're trying to start or whatever the next phase is that we're trying to get too?

My brother Thomas comes back onto the podcast after a short break since Episode 2 - he's worked for me for several years and had a few other jobs, and knows that he wants to work for himself, he wants to have control over his schedule - he just doesn't know and hasn't been able to figure out what he wants to do. There are alot of people in this place, where you have a goal and you know what you want but don't know how to get there - so in this episode we break it down!

I've known Schrone for several years now and we've worked together over that time - and he's always been one of those people you meet who you get to learn from, you get to talk to, and has amazing things to say.  He's built up an Ecommerce business as well as started coaching people over the past 3-4 years - but what has always impressed me most is that he knows exactly what he wants.  Over time, I hope that Walk on In can help more people to establish what exactly they want!

So this episode is definitely the longest one I've put out so far and wasn't trying to make one this long, but the conversation got started with Jack and kept on going.  He decided - instead of getting another full time job to just go for it and start his own social media marketing agency and he's doing well - but has some questions and admits himself he's still learning.  He's doing incredible, and I wish him nothing but the best because after you listen to this, you'll hear his attitude, his thought process - and it's one for the books.

On today's episode of Walk on In - we dive into the biggest question around a wedding photography/videography business - how do stop trading as much time for as much money - we brought on Tanner and Jenna - the owners of Solich Photo and Film, and this is where they wanted to do!

On a personal note, these two are great friends and I'm excited to see Walk On In do what we set out to do from the beginning - have real, geniune conversations with real business owners and help them out.

Today on Walk on In I do some business consulting with Solomon on his NFT project - this is the first episode that was recorded for the podcast and I'm very excited as this is what I want this podcast to be - 1 on 1 business consulting that is relevant and applicable to people who are trying to do the same thing.  As Walk on In grows - this right here is what I'd love for the majority of it to be - real help, real questions, and recorded for all of you to hear.
