We hold these festivals as celebrations of the epic work being done to support a more generative human presence on this planet. These podcast episodes are a beautiful opportunity to gain deeper insight into the Speakers and Artists in our festival programs.
The 2022 Festival episodes will be a series of conversations to connect with some of the speakers and artists being featured in this year’s festival program. Enjoy tuning in to these episodes as we get the conversation started around the festival theme of “Reimagine”.
We’re asking each guest the same three questions: Who are you? What’s alive for you in your work and life right now? What is one thing in our world that you would reimagine?
The 2021 Festival episodes are audio versions of some of the highlight talks and workshops from last year’s festival program.

It has been proposed that we humans love to participate in “cause and effect.” Throughout our “recent” (five thousand year) history, our principal modalities for this have been in the areas of Magic, Medicine, and Science. How have these modalities evolved?
How have they been influenced? And where have they brought us? The elders indicate that we have forgotten the foundational Law of Life in all of these methods of “participation” in the interconnected web of Life. The course correction called for can unite scientists, theologians, and Indigenous peoples in a common cause.

Food is the nature we embody. It is the most intimate connection we establish to ourselves, to our communities, and to our natural environments.
The great disconnect that has our species facing complex issues such as the climate crisis, biodiversity loss, social injustices, and inequalities is closely related to our disconnection from our agricultural roots...
How can we remember our roots and the beliefs and practices that helped us live in right relationship with land, for centuries/millennia?
Food systems transformation is essential to our survival as a species. Combining ancestral wisdom and modern technology can unlock unprecedented abundance to shift from the scarcity mindsets we evolve from. So... where to start?

For more than four decades, Helena and her organisation Local Futures have been raising awareness about the need to return to local – to move away from dependence on global monopolies, towards decentralised, regional economies.
They have also highlighted the ways the globalising economy is distancing us from the complex, interdependent web of life that is not only the real economy but a perpetual source of wonder and fulfillment.
Localisation is the antidote to consumer capitalism. The key to solving our seemingly endless ecological crises. A guiding principle to take us back home: to community, to the natural world, and to prosperous, place-based economies.

Could we be participating in a revolution in consciousness, in which our separate self (ego) is becoming replaced by what Gillian calls our sacred self?
In the mystic heart of our sacred self we feel our kinship with every living creature and begin to embody the intelligence of the amazing universe that science has revealed to us.
When we creatively unite with other sacred selves (networks of Grace) we are birthing a planetary consciousness (the noosphere), the emergence of which is no less significant than the emergence of the biosphere over 3 billion years ago.

In this highly participative workshop, NIDALA helps us step into our role as change-makers. Using practical exercises and sometimes confronting questions, she asks us to think about our unique power, place, and skill.
A space of complete non-judgment, based on the belief that every one of us belongs and is responsible for this place. Her journey forced her to reconcile an inheritance of ancient knowledge with an innovative academic mind - her work hopes to do the same for the collective.
She will share her songs, speak stories of the old and light the fire for new ideas.
