I was honored to be on the PodCoast Podcast with Richie Jackson. We sit down and discuss living on purpose and how much better life is if you embrace vulnerability.
I'm coming in hot today with this topic. We have become a society of people who can't handle hard, challenging, "risky" or even growth conversations and it shows. It is so sad when we lose ourselves and become so diluted. We lose. Everyone in relationship with us loses but mostly our kids lose. People are continually looking to us for courage, strength, integrity and some sort of back bone and many are met with passivity. It's time to stand up and step into deeper, more challenging relationships and conversations.
Negative or Positive, Perfect or Imperfect (Just kidding perfect doesn't exist), Hopeful or Despairing.... what you focus on expands. Don't sit and complain about it; make change, take action, always be curious!!

When Christine was 15 years old, she was raped at summer camp. The rape was the catalyst for years of living with shame. Shame silenced her inner voice, impeded her ability to connect on a deeper level with her friends and family, eroded her self-worth, and held her back from truly living an authentic life. Rather than process the trauma, she tried in vain to numb it with food; which equated to a 100 pound weight gain. Like so many women who live with buried stories; their stories will present themselves in a powerful way...within their health, actions and reactions, marriage, parenting, and friendships. Shame thrives and grows in darkness and silence. When we give it light within authentic empathetic sharing, shame will wither and die. Christine's story is one of reclaiming her life, of shedding the shame, and learning to love herself and others whole-heartedly.
