Statistics tell us the grimm news that as many as 70% of our Christian children are leaving the church in their teen years and never returning. At the same time the retention rate among Orthodox Jews of their young people in their faith is significantly higher. In this episode Becky Fischer visits with Rabbi Moshe Rothchild, father of four, as he shares some of the unique characteristics of spiritual discipleship in the average Jewish home that may give us insight into what we can do as parents to cause our children to be more committed to their faith.
Buckle your seat, because you may not be ready to hear about kids as young as 6 or 7 giving prophetic words and casting out the devils in African prisoners. You have to hear for yourself about the group of 20 children who were simultaneously healed of asthma when a little girl prayed for them, and they ran around a big building to prove it. You'll have to sit down when you hear about the child who was deaf from birth who suddenly begin hearing then started singing a worship song she'd never heard in the natural perfectly on pitch. Learn about the little Romanian gypsy girl who was supposed to be the next head witch in her village because her grandmother passed the legacy on to her. She was set free and began praying for other children. Babies and toddlers can see angels. In fact, it is in the preschool years a child is more naturally prophetic than they will be at any time in their lives. My guest, Elizabeth Nixon, attorney, author, public speaker, and Christian mother of a very prophetic three year old son, Joshua, will be sharing the numerous encounters Joshua has had with angels. She will share the prophetic statements he has made that let them know he was picking things up in the spirit. Many Christian parents today are raising prophetic children but don't know it. Elizabeth will share her personal journey of what it's been like to raise a prophetic child. She talks about her own childhood encounters with spirit beings and not having anyone who believed her. She shares practical advice on how to recognize the difference between true prophetic experiences and just a healthy imagination.
God is speaking through children today specifically in the area of dreams similar to the way he spoke to young Joseph in Genesis 37 who received two dreams about his great calling in God.Recognizing the dreams and callings of children will help them fulfill the highest calling on their lives. But also major plan of darkness right now is to give children nightmares, which in turn causes them to grow up fearing the supernatural. This is the message this week’s guest, Doug Addison, shares in this episode of Raising Supernatural Kids. Doug is an experienced prophetic minister, dream and tattoo interpreter, and a professional stand-up comedian.
The Church nursery is about the last place any spiritual nurturing goes on. So God spoke to Dr. Melodye HIlton with an unheard of and unprecedented mandate to teach and train the babies. He specifically told Melodye, “You are not to baby-sit, but to teach the uncompromising Word of God and you are not to have any toys in the Nursery.” We took what He spoke to us seriously. Dr. HIlton is my guest in this show and we will hear how in 1996 she developed, to the best of our knowledge, the very first infant curriculum ever published, called "Who’s Teaching the Babies?" We'll find out is it really possible to teach babies the scriptures and what it looks like. We'll hear testimonies of young people who had this foundation in their lives.
The scripture basis for this vision is 2 Timothy 3:15 NIV: “How from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”
MY GUEST: DAVID WALTERS Have you ever heard the phrase, "Children do not have a junior Holy Spirit"? We will be talking with the man who coined that phrase almost 40 years ago, David Walters. David was one of the "founding fathers" in this revival movement among children. He was the first real voice crying in the wilderness as an advocate for children being trained to be used by God. His battle cry coined decades ago quoted by thousands around the world is, “Children do not have a junior Holy spirit.”
I will ask him about the changes he has seen over the years in the Church (if any) and changes in attitudes in the church culture. Can we step back yet and say, "We are finally turning this ship around"?
We'll ask David about some of the lasting fruit of his ministry in churches and children who are now grown. What encouragement can he give us as leaders and parents to keep the momentum going.
