Armin Dieter Lehmann was not yet five years old when Hitler seized power in Germany in 1933. Five years later, it was mandatory for the ten-year-old to join the Hitler Youth.
While his youthful interests were in poetry and animals, Armin’s mythic journey in life began with a descent into the hell, leading Armin directly into Hitler’s bunker in the closing days of the Third Reich.
