Teachers all over the world are no strangers to working after the bell! Three authentic teacher mentors have come to the land of podcasting to connect, unpack relevant topics and celebrate the positive impact teachers make on a daily basis. Ilona, Karlene and Nicole are part of the Teacher Induction Program with Edmonton Public Schools. They provide teachers new to the Division with job-embedded, confidential, non-evaluative mentorship and coaching.
Join us as we think about some of the transitions and transformations that happen at the end of a school year. Some exciting news is shared as we all prepare for a rejuvinating summer.

In this episode we mentioned the Building Collaborative Teams Document used by Edmonton Public Schools. “Building Collaborative Teams was developed to help teachers, educational assistants (EAs) and administrators better understand the roles of teachers and EAs. This document provides a framework for clarifying the roles, responsibilities and shared duties of teachers and EAs, as well as a range of tools and suggested processes for communicating”. Since this is a locally developed document, all teachers and EAs have access to this document on Connect (our Division’s intranet).

hope and healing to their classrooms and school communities through their Indigenous way of knowing and being. Elder Bearhead, a member of the Wabamun Lake First Nation, and Nicholle Weasel Traveller, an Indigenous teacher from Blackfoot Confederacy share stories about strength, resilience and hope. Join us to learn how the actions of reconciliation are alive and well in their communities.

Join us for a hopeful conversation with Amy Badger, an inspired teacher with Edmonton Public Schools, to explore the role of hope in our classrooms and surrounding communities. Amy has been “teaching hopefully” and has been working alongside researchers at the University of Alberta. Hope Studies Central is the “only research unit in the world devoted to the study of hope in human living”. Amy has actively been sharing her hopeful practice with other teachers with initiatives such as #TeachersGrowHope where you can access HOPE lessons and activities.
