The Venango Speaks Podcast is a show about people, places & things in Venango County, Pennsylvania. Incorporating discussions about recreation, business, volunteerism, revitalization, & community on the local level, the podcast aims to provide the surrounding area with engaging conversations featuring local youth, leaders & professionals.
In this episode of the Venango Speaks Podcast, teens from the Teen Reading Lounge (TRL) program at the Franklin Public Library share their views on culture and diversity in their schools and communities. Each cycle of TRL, the teens are asked to participate in a Civic Engagement project that will help them to connect to their community, and this year they have decided to share this podcast with you!
Our hosts are Tasha Manross (TRL Facilitator), Daidre Green (TRL Site Coordinator and Teen Services Coordinator at FPL and OCL), and Skyler Green (TRL participant, age 13).
Our speakers are Ryder Mitchell (TRL participant, age 13), Nicole Earnhardt (TRL participant, age 15), and Bella Malliard (TRL participant, age 12).
We'd also like to mention a special thanks to Megan Kilgore (TRL participant, age 18), Ryder Mitchell, and Skyler Green for helping to edit the podcast.
We hope you enjoy!
