Let's dive in.First, let's talk about what these legacy blue checkmarks are. In the past, Twitter used a verification system to indicate that an account was authentic and belonged to a public figure, celebrity, or brand. Twitter has been one of the most popular social media platforms for many years now, but it has faced several criticisms for its centralized structure and handling of user data. Recently, Meta, formerly known as Facebook, announced its plans to create a decentralized alternative to Twitter.
The new platform will allow users to connect and share information without relying on a central authority, and will be based on blockchain technology. It aims to address issues related to privacy, security, and censorship.
According to Meta, the decentralized platform will use a peer-to-peer network, where users will communicate directly with each other, eliminating the need for a centralized server. This means that users will have full control over their data and will be able to decide who has access to it.

The concern about TikTok's security and data practices is not new. In 2020, former President Trump signed an executive order that would have banned TikTok from operating in the US. However, TikTok challenged the order in court, and the case is still ongoing. While the case is in progress, TikTok continues to operate in the US.What does this mean for brands and marketers on TikTok? Well, if the app is banned, they'll need to look for other platforms to reach their target audience. TikTok has become incredibly popular among young people, so brands that are targeting this demographic may need to rethink their strategy. According to various reports, shows that its revenue is down 40% year-over-year, mainly due to a broader downturn in digital advertising, and ongoing concerns about Musk’s updates at the app.
If that’s correct, Twitter is in an increasingly difficult operating position, than it was in before because prior musk taking over the App, Twitter was breeding $4M per day and still suffering with the debt financing of the Entire deal.

Twitter has also shut down several of its offices in Europe and India, amid broad-reaching actions. Some of the Twitter Staff has been told to work from home as a next viable option while some have been laid off completely. Over the past month, Elon Musk, has handpicked journalists internal documents and conversations that took place before his takeover and made them public to everyone to acess. TikTok’s future in the US is looking a lot less certain, after an investigation involving its parent company ByteDance revealed that it had been spying on several American journalists whom it believed had been in contact with the staff, and gained access to commercially sensitive information.
“Over the summer, four employees on the ByteDance internal audit team looked into the sharing of internal information to journalists. Two members of staff in the US and two in China gained access to the IP addresses and other personal data of Financial Times journalist Cristina Criddle, to work out if she was in the proximity of any ByteDance employees, the company said.

One of the most outrageous and top events of last week revolved around Twitter suspending journalist accounts on grounds of trolling and rage bait, To which all Musk responded as saying doxxing rules apply to every one and perhaps offer and create room for a proper moderation with in the App.So to start, Twitter abruptly banned an automated account which provided location info on the whereabouts of Elon’s private jet. According to Musk, somebody had used this info to seek him out in LA, eventually confronting a private car, which he wasn’t actually in, and harassing those inside, including Musk’s youngest child.--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/brander-br/message
Twitter is relaunching its $8 Verification Plan today after it had been suspended days after the launch. And this time its a bit costly for IOS users where they have to pay about $11 per month or $132 per year. The surge in price comes after Apples 30% Payment Tax. And Twitter is looking for ways to bypass it while maintaining its profits margins. And The only question is who would pay the extra cost for a verified account. Twitter is becoming heavily vested on automation towards content moderation and also Twitter is more aggressively restricting abuse-prone hashtags and search results in areas including child exploitation, regardless of potential impacts on "benign uses", said Twitter Vice President of Trust and Safety Product Ella Irwin previously she held safety roles at Google and Amazon Check Out Brander twitter.com/brander-br --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/brander-br/message

Bush and Musk himself. One account impersonating the pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Co. tweeted that insulin was free, causing the company's stock to take a nose dive. This time, Musk says, all accounts will be manually verified and color coded for different entities."Gold check for companies, grey check for government, blue for individuals (celebrity or not) and all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before check activates," he explained in a Twitter thread.--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/brander-br/message
Last Week Musk called on Twitters remaining staff to commit to extremely hard working conditions or leave the company with a three months pay.
In the meantime. A lot of things have been happening at Twitter. Back In September, before Elon Musk took over at the app, Twitter, reportedly, had around 7,500 staff in total. And on his first day at the company he cut Twitter’s Top executives. In Addition Musk culled around 50% of the company’s staff as a cost-saving measure, taking it to approximately 3,700 staff. As expected, Elon’s plan to sell blue checkmarks, which no longer signify verification, has led to a raft of people impersonating prominent identities and brands in the app.
Of which comes as a no surprise considering many people warned musk about the rise of impersonation and other challenges as witnessed in the previous week. yet Elon pushed ahead with it anyway, explaining that it would be ‘the great leveler’, in that it would enable everyone to get a blue checkmark, not just celebrities – To which he described as Lords and a peasant system, which isn't balanced at all. Last Week Musk, confirmed that he's working on a subscription model known as Twitter Blue in which users can pay $8 a month to get verified, infact this update is now live for IPhone Users.
If the subscription goes to plan, it will help Twitter, have a predictive revenue stream of income, something that Musk needs considering he bought Twitter for $44 Billion dollars with debt. Musk already told prospective investors in his deal to buy the company that he planned to get rid of nearly 75% of Twitter’s 7,500 workers, “whittling the company down to a skeleton staff” of just over 2,000 employees. Musk plans to take this action once he buys Twitter .
Nobody knows how, exactly, Musk plans to stimulate that growth, and I’m not convinced Elon does either, but his perspective, at present, seems to be that Twitter is bloated, costly and underachieving.

With the company set to accept Musk’s revised, revisited, and re-issued Twitter takeover offer, many are now pondering what this means for the app, and what Elon has in store for the platform as Tweeter-in-chief.

As a quick recap, last month, Peiter ‘Mudge’ Zatko, a well-known and highly respected name in cybersecurity, released a statement that leveled a range of criticisms over Twitter’s security and reporting processes.
