Ryan, divorced by his socialite wife, daughter of a prominent attorney, and a founding partner of one of Miami's most prestigious law firms, was then fired from the firm. An outcast in Miami's law community, he is now living on the monetary leftovers of his employment not squandered by his ex-wife. Once celebrated as the Firm's golden boy, he is near destitution and has taken up a meager solo law practice out of his one-bedroom apartment in the Miami ghetto area of South Coconut Grove. In his struggle to escape misfortune, he, by an orchestrated chance, has engaged in another gambit, in an effort to salvage his life and career. But fate, alerted by events and availability of his courthouse notoriety will soon find him to employ his notable skills.
