As a Mortgage Consultant and Certified Divorce Lending Professional I personally walk every client step by step through the process in securing the very best financial options for their particular real estate purchases and prevent divorcing couples from getting trapped in the pitfalls of mortgage, title and real estate mistakes that can have catastrophic long term affects.
For over 30 years I have committed myself to providing highly personalized first class, 1:1 service, resources and results due to my own less than stellar experiences in real estate transactions, lending oversights and the journey of divorce as a whole.
Since a very early age I jumped right into the rental, real estate, financial markets and learned from the ground up the common mistakes and misconceptions that buyers and most brokers make that do not have the extensive experience I have as a CDLP.
My own divorce opened my eyes to the financial, legal, emotional and co-parenting impact the sale of a home can have on every member of a family. The lending profession is typically untrained, unprepared and unaware of the details that have a lasting impact on a divorce agreement and settlement. I am here to change that experience and outcome.
I personally create solutions, support, guide and educate divorcing couples throughout lending, title transfers, and tax ramifications during and after the entire divorce process that involves the sale or transfer of property.

If we have not gone through it ourselves, we only see divorce through the eyes of a bystander. Although we know how difficult it must be, we never know its extent and what happens behind closed doors. In this episode, I talk with Attorney-turned-Divorce Coach Julie Rountree about what divorce coaching looks like for a Family Law Attorney like herself. She also shares why it’s essential to hire a Divorce Coach when you’re going through a divorce and a few tips for the HR Department to help support their employees who are going through a tough time.
As a family law attorney, Julie has represented clients in countless divorces and helped clients navigate these challenges for over 15 years. Although she was their legal advocate, she never truly felt capable of managing clients’ issues when it came to the emotional part of a divorce. Julie found herself struggling as an attorney working with confused, intimidated, and anxious clients who were so overwhelmed with court hearings, opposing counsel’s demands, and organizing financial documents – in addition to feeling the trauma of divorce. Her clients felt helpless, and her career became stressful and demanding. She started to lose focus of her own reasons for practicing family law. After several years of needing a change, Julie made it a priority to help clients sort through the emotional part of a divorce, become more involved in their cases, and thrive in the post-divorce transition once the lawyers and judges were out of the picture. She knew she had to reinvent the divorce experience by providing support to her clients, as well as guidance, focus, and tools for a peaceful transformation. Julie became certified as a Divorce Coach and Divorce Transition & Recovery Coach. Today, her practice is devoted to helping men and women who are simply overwhelmed by the divorce process and ready to gain clarity, confidence, and the ability to move forward with grace.

What can you do in 30 seconds? What can it do to change your life and how do you face stress? In this episode, I talk with speaker and author Brenda Miller. Her stand is that “stress is optional.” She makes that her life’s mission is to teach others to conquer stress. We dive deeper into the concept of stress and how to dissolve it and about her books. Tune in to learn about the different strategies to help you deal with stress in just 30 seconds.
Brenda taught conscious conflict resolution in six countries and to broaden her expertise in turning chaos into calmness, she studied and applied the work of the Masters who live without stress. They include Eckhart Tolle, Byron Katie, Sadhguru, Mooji, Guy Finley, and more.
Brenda has been in private practice for twenty years where she’s devoted herself to helping people free themselves from upsets and inner conflict—in 30 seconds! Her favorite discovery has been that joy is natural for all human beings—no exceptions. She helps parents and their kids rediscover theirs by doing one of these strategies every time a negative state appears.
While she has an Associate Degree in Holistic Nutrition and diplomas in Business and Writing, she is passionate (all day long) about helping people find peace inside of themselves – so they can access it no matter where they are. She has proof that we are meant to live that way! By doing this work, she went from grumpy to grateful and from blaming—to blossoming her kids (and herself).
She’s married to a man who generously blesses her mistakes, and they have three kids who gave them six granddaughters and two step-granddaughters—and that means that family get-togethers are a happy reminder that kids bring everyone to life!

Divorce is a very traumatic experience for anyone. It impacts a person’s life, work, and the people close to them as well. In this episode, I’ve invited Certified Divorce Coach and Co-parenting Coach, Elina Greiff to talk about what HR managers, Supervisors, and Leaders can do and should not do for their employees going through a divorce. She also shares a few other tips that can further help companies extend their support for their employees in such a turbulent time in their lives.
Elina Greiff is an experienced Conscious Parenting Coach and a Gottman Certified Educator. After working for over 20 years in the corporate world as an IT leader, coach and emotional intelligence trainer, Elina realized that her passion was teaching and coaching parents on how to apply emotional intelligence concepts to parenting. Elina coaches parents on how to uncover and replace their limiting beliefs with deeper self-awareness and more empowering, life-affirming beliefs.
Elina’s work incorporates the core principles of positive psychology, human motivation theories, child development research, and brain science. She believes that the sooner people learn emotional intelligence skills, the more fulfilling, meaningful, and successful their lives will be. In order for parents to raise emotionally intelligent children, they have to be willing to learn those core principles themselves.
Parents who are more self-aware can, in turn, help their children learn emotional awareness and self-regulation. Elina believes that when parents learn what it means to parent consciously – those ordinary, everyday moments of interaction between them and their children is where extraordinary lessons are learned and deeper connection is created.
Elina works with parents one-on-one as well as in group settings. In her work, she is employing research-based, proven strategies to teach and coach others on parenting with emotional intelligence. Elina’s passion is to help parents deeply understand and connect with their children and to restore creative collaboration, mutual respect, and joyfulness within the family home.

Every divorce has a unique thumbprint. Most especially if it happens between a couple where family involvement is ingrained in their culture, from marriage to divorce or separation. With me today is Certified Divorce Coach, Cindy Gunraj, to talk about cultural differences in terms of the divorce process and how she overcame hers. She also discusses how HR departments can help and understand employees who are going through a divorce and how her book, Winning Your Parents' Approval for Divorce: 7 Practices to Leave Your Marriage with Their Blessing, can help people go through and overcome a cultural divorce.
Cindy Gunraj has successfully overcome many life transitions. Divorce was the catalyst for her major life shifts. Growing up, she was immersed in a culture where women act as caretakers in the home but are taught to suppress their voices and desires. Cindy’s time as a performer allowed her to develop her communication skills, which led to awakening a new voice and identity, and shedding the limiting cultural beliefs.
On her journey working across multiple industries (global health, pharmaceutical medical education, real estate, and yoga), she met many women struggling with owning their power to live a truly wholehearted, authentic life. This paved the way to the creation of StillnessBlooms, a safe space to help empower women to overcome their limiting beliefs.
Cindy attained her BA in Management and Economics, from Goucher College. She is an ICF Certified Coach, Life Coach, Certified Divorce Coach, and RYT® Yoga Certified teacher. Cindy is also a speaker specializing in presentations and workshops to empower women to overcome difficult life situations. She’s spoken at the Women Center for Leadership, Unicef, Dress for Success Worldwide, and Women’s Impact Network at Hewlett Packard. Cindy loves hiking, meditation, and spending time with her puppy, Joy, and partner David.

A divorce doesn’t only affect the couple who is going through it. It can also be traumatic when there are kids involved. Today, I’ve invited Divorce Coach and Transition and Recovery Coach, Carole McKelvey to talk about getting help from a divorce coach or a therapist, not just for couples going through a divorce but also for the people around that couple — like the kids. She also shares her insights on knowing when a person needs therapy and how to go about picking the right therapist for your needs. Moreover, she answered the question: can you see a coach and a therapist simultaneously?
After a 30-year career in the mental health field, including program development, administration, supervision, and clinical work, Carole McKelvey decided to become a coach. After working with people as a clinician, it became clear to her that, with the exception of those who are severely ill, most people can find the answers to most issues within themselves. Usually, they just need a strong thought partner who can work with them to tap into their strength, reserves, and souls to find what they need. It’s so satisfying when, as a coach, you walk that path with someone and watch that transition take place. See that person evolve.
She has written many proposals, started many programs, and handed them over to managers or directors to operate, and it’s a wonderful thing to watch that process, knowing that many people will benefit from the work done. But she found it equally satisfying to sit with one person in a session and walk their path to reach the goal they have for that day.
She started taking classes to become certified as a coach and became an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation. She looked at new areas to explore as a coach and became very interested in divorce coaching. She took a course to become certified as a divorce coach and took an additional approach to be a transition and recovery coach. While doing that, she was introduced to a wonderful woman who was teaching a course on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and became a Certified Diversity Coach. Even now, she is looking into other courses to improve her skills. She believes we never stop learning. Every day, she is open to learning something new. She believes that it makes us better people, and we can learn from everyone around us.
