Hey Sis! If you've every felt like your load was too heavy, and that maybe God chosen the wrong person for the job, this episode is for you.
The month of July is going to be ridiculously busy for me and I started to worry that I may not be able to handle it all. I took my concerns to God and he reassured me that I have help. And so of course I had to come share that encouragement with you!
As always, if you enjoy this episode, please share it with a friend. :)
My apologies that there is no video for this episode. The video software crashed midway, but thankfully the audio was still available (won't he do it)!

Hey Sis! If you're the type who can easily read people, situations and a room, and have wondered why God chooses to reveal so much to you (or even why people are so comfortable sharing certain things with you), this episode is for you. What the enemy would love is for you to overlook or misunderstand how best to use that discernment.
In this episode, I share what I've been learning about discernment and how God wants us to handle the information he makes us privy to. This is a short one, but it's sweet. Oh and if you like the tee (from the Spotify video), here's The Perry's Merch Store.

Hey Sis! When you asked God for that thing, did you consider all that it would require? I've personally had some struggles with accepting the good, the bad and the ugly of the very things I prayed to God for. And that's what this episode is all about: embracing the burden of the blessing. Can we chop it up? Let's talk!

With all the ups and downs of life, it can be easy to wonder why unfortunate, uncomfortable, downright painful things happen to us. Throughout my life, and recently as a divorcé, I’ve found myself asking if God cares about my feelings or my circumstance. Sure, some suffering is self-inflicted, but what about the times when you’ve been striving to live an upright life and still experience suffering?
I've been going to God about this in prayer and in His word, and found so much comfort in the scriptures below. I break it all down in this episode and hope it helps you endure and overcome whatever suffering you've been faced with.

Hey Sis! God's been dealing with me in the area of faith and truly surrendering to Him, and I'd love to share the scripture that's been helping me with that (Isaiah 43:18-19). Also in this episode, we discuss the struggle that comes with change, surrendering control to God, and having faith to see what God wants us to see in every situation.
As we forget the past and focus on what God is doing in this present moment, we can take hold of God's promise to make a way in the wilderness and provide for our needs.

Hey Sis! I hope you're getting rest this season or planning to soon. As you prep for the new year or unwind (or both), I want to remind you why you (and only you) have to pursue that dream in your heart. Yep, that goal, that vision, that business, that position, that thing tucked away in your wildest dreams. It's a perspective you may not have considered. I also share a story about a trip to the gym that didn't lead to a workout but instead boosted my faith (hint: it's the small things). Will you let me encourage you as we bring the year to a close? I hope so.
And if I do, please share this episode with a friend to spread the love. :)

Hey Sis! As a recently divorced woman, I face all sorts of feelings... shame being one of the most frequent. I've been taking this burden to God, and he's been showing me why even when I'm triggered by shame, I don't have to own it.
In this episode, I walk through the scriptures I've been reading in this tough season, the perspective I battled with when shame triggered me, and the message God placed on my heart regarding all this – from guilt and shame to sin and redemption. I pray it brings you more joy!

Hey Sis! As promised, I am doing a short series on behaviors/mindsets worth unlearning. I'm kicking it off with emotional detachment because that's one of the first behaviors I had to unlearn on my journey back to myself.
In each of the series episodes, I will share:
A definition of the behavior
How it showed up in my life
When I reached a breaking point (that made me want to unlearn this behavior)
What I did to unlearn this behavior
And what I do now to keep from turning to old ways
I hope this series offers you practical steps to take in your own journey, language to put to what you're going through, and encouragement to keep going because you're not alone on this journey of life. If you enjoy it, let your girl know and share the episode with others!
Also, I suggested in this epi that you also listen to epi 38: How to Mother Yourself for more tips on how to show up for yourself. Alright Sis, have an awesome week!

For years, it felt like a disadvantage, but I've come to realize that it's actually one of the best advantages one can have. Sidenote: In the scripture read (Matt 14:35-36), the "him/he" mentioned is Jesus. I didn't make that clear in the episode.

If you're trying to heal, Sis this episode is for you! Coming out of divorce, I've been on a major personal healing journey. I've been doing a lot of research on what it takes to heal (and by research I mean podcasts, books, sermons and YouTube lol). And what I'm finding is that not many resources get down to actual steps we can take, especially from a Christian perspective. So when I can't find it, I create it – with God's help of course!
In this episode, I share three steps we can take to help us on our healing journeys. I made sure to sit with God to hear what he has to say on the topic, and truly believe he showed up. I hope it blesses you Sis!

We've all heard it: God’s timing isn’t like ours. But what does that mean and why are we only told that when we're low on patience? In this episode, I unpack "God's timing" from a different angle and remind you that God can restore the years you think you lost!
Scripture reference in case you're interested: Joel 2:25-26 -- And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.

This is a video version of episode 37, where I share my experience in both personal and group therapy (Spotify only). If you aren't on Spotify, you can watch this episode on YouTube. I discuss why I decided to start therapy, the dynamics of both experiences and a summary of what I learned from both. These past 6 months have been extremely transformational which is why I'm so eager to share this with you!
The group therapy/coaching I did was Made for This with Brittainy Noel. She was featured on the Dear Future Wifey podcast and she was phenomenal. From there I was sold. :)
The daily meditation I mentioned is Go(o)d Mornings with CurlyNikki.

In this episode I share unique ways of finding time to create what you love! Add to them in the comments if you have other ideas to share. I realized when editing that I mistakenly bypassed tip number 4, which was: take paid time off (PTO) to use specifically for creating. You can use regular PTO or days you may receive occasionally like floating holidays.

Happy New Year Sis! As we begin chasing our 2022 goals, I want to encourage us both to drop the arbitrary timelines we've set for ourselves. We can make all the plans and do all the preparation, but an important part of the journey is patience. There's so much to enjoy (and still do) in the waiting season, but if we get caught up in the destination alone, we miss so much in front of us at this present moment. In this episode, I share 4 dangers of placing undeveloped expectations on ourselves (that often stem from childhood... can you imagine upholding an expectation that a 10-year-old has for your 30-year-old life?). But I don't stop there. I also share 4 ways to pivot from those self-imposed timelines and expectations.

From childhood, I've been told "be yourself." While that sounds simple, years and years of society's expectations ringing loud can make it easy to shrink and hide. But I'm determined to break free from that this year. In 2022 , I'm challenging myself to show up as my full self no matter how scary or intimidating that may be. Let me start by saying, this ain't about food. It's more about doing something I've always wanted to do. Don't be like me and allow society, kids, adult-life or any obligation to convince you to put yourself on the backburner... all we have is now. Whether you're considering a vegan life or not, I encourage you to listen to this episode. Veganism is the vehicle, but BOLDNESS is the message.
I want to inspire you to try that thing you've been telling yourself is too hard. And if you enjoy this episode, share it with someone you love. Thanks hun!

Toiling with trying to figure out what product to sell, what business to start, or what angle to take with a new venture? I'm going to share with you what God shared with me as I was trying to figure out the same thing... your story is enough. Yep! You don't need a credential, degree or license to add value to this world. Your story is worth gold... tell it, sis!
Sidebar: The message isn't that you don't need to sell products or services. It's that you should allow those things to be fueled by and reflective of your amazing story. It's more valuable than you know.
