“NB On Air” is THE Student Life podcast at North Broward Prep, highlighting students’ achievements along with different opportunities and activities that students can get involved in on campus. Sponsored by the high school student government and the Eagles Podcast Network, we want to share stories from students to hopefully teach you something new about our school. We’re giving the administration and staff an opportunity to hear from students directly, and our goal is to involve a diverse group of students doing a variety of things across campus.
This episode, I sat down with Morgan, Justin, Hannah, Dylan, Coach Cedeno, and Coach Chelsea Gilbert to share more about the NBPS Cultural Intelligence Committee, otherwise known as the CQ committee. The team recently finalized a proposal for a new single-trimester class about combatting cultural biases and discrimination which has been approved by the academic council and will hopefully be implemented in the curriculum in the near future. This episode, I sat down with former NBPS English Teacher Ms. Jennifer Berne who recently resigned due to COVID-19 health restrictions. We compared the teacher vs. student perspective on learning adaptations throughout the pandemic, she shared insight onto how COVID has impacted teachers, and we also reminisced on her life and legacy at North Broward.
This episode I sat down with Student Government Executive President, Benny Frost, and Spirit Affairs Commissioner, Roby Platt, to explain our new proposal to reimagine the NBPS legislative body. This proposal consists of three components: the Student Senate, the Student Government Forum, and the NB Insider. Election will be held on November 3rd. 2020! Vote vote vote!
