Check one-two! We are coming to you live from London. Marylebone High Street, to be precise. We're recording roadside, outside a Pret... because that's all anyone in London ever seems to talk about... Bloody Pret! This street has special significance to us, as it's where we spent time when our son was having his big surgery on Harley Street. Quite emotional being back.
We talk about the trip here. Simon discusses a rather unsavoury example of Baader Meinhof Complex he's been experiencing. We talk crappy hotels with the world's best showers. We talk posh schools, the first celeb spot, the Science Museum, how the V&A has brought out the proper middle-aged side of us, pub grub, Harrods and a being on an escalator with the world's sexiest man and a Hollywood A-lister. And, since it's us, we head over to Bowel Corner, where one of us, it seems, can defy physics and fart into the future.

Hello and thanks so much for having a listen! On episode 133 of 'Husband & Wife Sentenced to Life' we sound a bit different because we're recording on different mics in our living room. Hello! On today's episode of 'Husband & Wife Sentenced to Life', we start by talking about how numerous precariously-balanced grocery boxes could not only lead to Simon's death but also to a decent discount code for a widowed Lorra from Kibsons. We also discussed how Lorra's Day 1 of 'wall pilates' looked like the crime scene from a popular real-life Netflix crime documentary series.
The main subject today is 'pet regret'. Why?
First piece of evidence are the dirty protests of our cat, Awimbaway.
Secondly, there's Simon's feelings towards our dog, Charlie, which lead him to thinking he (Simon) is possibly a psychopath.
To finish, Lorra discusses two pet-related TV shows (The Doghouse & Supervet) which have recently broken format with heartbreaking consequences!

Hello! To follow on from Thursday night's podcast, when we had just heard the shocking news of Queen Elizabeth's death, the first half of our recording today is our feelings since then... When it started to hit us properly, how Simon had to change the format of his radio show, how difficult it is to do that job on days when you don't want to act like an 'idiot monkey' (Simon's words). We talk about being gripped by rolling News, watching King Charles III and the Queen Consort fly to London, drive to Buckingham Palace and meet the people. We talk about the Houses of Commons tributes and how, for once, it wasn't infuriating to watch politicians. And we talk about Charles addressing the nation and the world and our thoughts on that.
The second half of the podcast is another travel diaries recording, this time from the Mercure Hotel near Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin. Apologies if any rogue 'effing and blinding' made it in. Hopefully it didn't.

This is an unusual episode, which we recorded more for ourselves than anything else. Like everyone else, we watched the News today but tonight we were hosting one of our weekly quiz nights when the sad announcements were made regarding the Queen. It was difficult because we were stood there with microphones and, to be honest, we didn't know how to feel or react. History was being made. But we had a job to do. So we both agreed that as soon as we got to the car we would record our feelings and thoughts. Apologies for the rambling nature of this podcast, as well as lack of production or jingles. We are both shocked, stunned and not quite sure how to feel. Normal service will resume on the next episode.

Hello! We uploaded ep.110 yesterday but there was a glitch in the audio and we sounded like Norman Collier doing his broken mic routine (this), so we had to delete it and do it again. This podcast is in two halves. The first half is us, now, talking about the first week back to school, the Dubai school runs, community Facebook groups, Lorra's weekend meltdown, Simon's husbandly reaction to the meltdown, Friends (the TV show), friends (the people in, or rather not in our lives), what is and isn't appropriate to wear on the school pick-ups and a Zoom conversation with our 19yr old, second-year-of-uni son to help him and his housemates with something ridiculously simple, which we could do aged 7.
The second half of this episode is another recording from our holiday diaries. At this point, we're coming to the end of our Amsterdam stay. We recorded it in the early hours of the morning, we think Lorra might have been drunk and she was definitely 'fragrant'.

To celebrate the centenary of our little podcast, Husband & Wife Sentenced to Life, we've done something special. We invited our son, Leo, in for a chat before he heads back to university in Bristol in a couple of days. We start with a couple of anecdotes that we've held back on telling each other. Then we get into the funny, emotional, honest and sometimes awkward chat with Leo. A lot of you listened to our daily podcast last year when we were taking Leo to Bristol from Dubai and how difficult that was. Hello! First of all, apologies for the audio quality in the second half of today's podcast. We've been desperately trying to get into our little studio and record but time has been against us. We decided to record half in the studio pre-school pick-up and half on the roof of Starbucks (very Beatles-esque). Sadly Simon's mic didn't record at Starbucks, so we've had to try to rescue what audio we could from Lorra's mic, hence the quality. Didn't have time to run proper diagnostics beforehand. It's been crazy.
On today's episode, Simon talked about positivity for 2022 then Lorra started crying almost as soon as we got out of the gate. The reason for this quickly becomes apparent. We talk about Leo leaving, Christmas leaving, villa troubles, decision fatigue, having a cat in the bedroom during sex, our kids uncanny inability to need us at inappropriate times and lots more.
