What is revival? Is it possible in our day? Is it possible in our city? Is it possible in our nation? Last night we looked at all of those questions. We leaned into what the Spirit of God has been speaking to many about what’s to come in 2020 and how we are invited to be a part of this unique and unusual move of God. We encourage you to engage in the topics discussed in this podcast - search the Word, search your heart. The revelation of the tent of David as found in the Scriptures is one of great impact on our generation. It also gives such incredible clarity and purpose to all that God has taught us in these 13 weeks of RECESS Released.

May this message stir repentance in our hearts where we haven’t given Jesus our full yes. May it also ignites a fire in us to seek His face, so that every nation may come to know His name. “I will not enter my house or get into my bed, I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.” Ps 132:3-5

This podcast continues our conversation on three of the 1 Corinthians 12 spiritual gifts: words of prophecy, wisdom, and knowledge. The heart of this message is to equip the church to test, discern, and respond to God’s voice by walking in wisdom and love with spiritual gifts. If you’re still unsure whether God wants to use you to bring forth His love to His people on the earth (which is what the gifts of the Spirit are and do), you only need to look at the life and person of Jesus. God’s plans for you are the same as for His son.

Last night we learned about spiritual gifts that God gives us and how He may choose to speak to us in a word of prophecy, knowledge, and wisdom (1 Cor 12:8). We shared testimonies of ways God speaks to us and how you can discern if it is from the Lord. It was a powerful and empowering night. Here's a highlight of what you'll find in the podcast:

  1. First and foremost, God is good, He loves us, and as any good father would, He lavishes gifts upon His children (Matt 7:11).

  2. Anything we hear must be tested against the truth of His Word in Scripture and against the truth of His character (1 Jn 4:1).

  3. God's gifts come from a place of love and bear good fruit. If the fruit of spiritual gifts you have encountered in your life, does not bear good fruit, it begs the question - is this from God? For we know that gifts coming from the tree of life in the Lord, bear good fruit (Matt 7:15-20).

  4. There is an abundance of grace from God as we step out in these giftings. He will teach us and guide us into all truth on how to walk in our gifts - so practice, step out in faith and obedience, and take a chance as you refine discerning God's voice!

True or false- There is a very real and unseen spiritual battle going on around us as we seek to commune with God and represent His light...TRUE! But fear not! The enemy has been disarmed (Colossians 2:15) and we have been ARMED (2 Corinthians 2:6-7).

In this podcast, we walk through several basic biblical principles of spiritual warfare.  As believers, it is important to understand the kingdom of God and spiritual warfare in order to be rightly equipped to live out our lives here on earth. Kallie walks through areas of warfare, and ultimately breakthrough, in her own life story in order to provide language and understanding into how the enemy tries to gain footholds into our lives and to bear testimony to the victorious power of the presence of Jesus.

Walking in a relationship with the presence of Jesus and obediently following him will always result in redemption and victory. There is no victory apart from Him.

If praise is our response to God’s character, then worship is our response to His Presence.

Last night at RECESS Released we heard testimonies of freedom in worship and teachings on the difference between praise and worship, and after we heard, we did. We offered up thanksgiving and praise and when the presence of God drew near we settled in and worshiped at the feet of Jesus. It was holy and beautiful. Chains fell, lies were broken, and lives were changed.

Worship is the place where we find ourselves. Worship is where we meet with God and He changes us. Worship isn’t reserved for the few, it’s what we were made for.

This week at RECESS Released, we stepped into the truths taught in Teachings 11-13 of the RECESS Book on the power of our praise. We experienced firsthand how He makes our faith, expressed through praise, powerful to tear down strongholds and to breakthrough lies, weariness, darkness, and oppression. We encourage you guys to read through these lessons and spend time with Him this week learning how to give your hearts and selves to Him in praise. "They never rest day or night, saying: 'Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God, the All-Powerful, Who was and who is, and who is still to come!... You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, since you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created!’” (Rev 4:8, 10). AMEN!

Last night we put the lesson of praise into practice. We shared testimonies of His holiness and worth. We took a step of faith by choosing to boldly enter into His presence. We laid down the backpack of burdens that weren’t ours to carry and exchanged it for His freedom, love, and presence. Words cannot be used to describe the fullness of God’s beauty that we experienced as we gave ourselves to His goodness. We hope this week that you will know that He is good, that He loves you and that He longs for you to encounter the truths of His word.

Praise!
Jesus tore the veil that separated us from God and made a way for us to enter into God's presence. But how do we get there? How do we enter in? In this podcast, we dive into what Biblical praise is and how Scripture reveals that praise is the highway to God's presence. Through studying different Hebrew words for praise, we get a taste of the freedom and joy God truly has for us in Him. We now get to step into freedom in praise because not only is the veil torn between us and God, crushing all religious requirements, but also because Jesus tore the veil between ourselves and the expectations of the world around us. We get to throw off every requirements we are striving to meet and step into freedom pursuing a life with the Lord.

Last night we dove into Teachings 5-6 of the RECESS Book. These are significant and foundational lessons in the RECESS journey, as they mark the shift from hearing the good news of who God is and what He has done for us, to putting those realities and promises into practice. In these teachings, we begin to answer the question of “now that Jesus has made a way for us into God’s holy and intimate presence, how do we enter into it?” This week was particularly special because we got to pause and have an honest and healthy heart chat and ask ourselves, “Why are we seeking to know God more? Is it to get something from Him? Or is it simply to gain HIM?”

.

Through studying Psalm 119 and the book of Job, we uncovered what’s been going on in our hearts towards God. This brings us the freedom to surrender our hearts to Him and to receive from Him His incredible heart for us. We pray this message will bring purity in our pursuit of His presence. Lord, You are our one thing! Let nothing else take Your place in our hearts and lives!

He loves me, He loves me, He really loves me! What a beautiful night diving deep into the Lord’s relentless pursuit of us through Jesus and His unwavering love for us. It’s the miracle of knowing that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. That our old heart of stone has been replaced with a new heart of flesh that beats wildly for Jesus. Knowing Jesus is far more than intellectual knowledge, it’s experiential. To know Him is intimacy, it’s freedom, it’s the fullness of joy, it’s more than we can ask to think or imagine. He thinks we are worth paying the highest price, to make us His - what a precious gift. May we continually learn to treasure this gift, not striving to “do” and “earn” it, but just “be” and “receive” it. Let the sacrifice of Jesus laying down His life on the cross for our sake be enough for us to come to Him and rest.

Listen in as Kallie unpacks how the Jewish wedding tradition parallels the marriage of Christ to his bride - the church. This revelation points not only to the beauty of God's love and pursuit of us but also to the significance of the gift of the Holy Spirit. We dove into who the Holy Spirit is and why Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit as a down payment to our eternal inheritance in Christ. Our hope is that this message encourages you to surrender your life to Him and to walk in boldness, power, and love until he returns again.

God used the power of testimony in Kallie’s marriage to parallel the potential for us to have an incorrect perception of God. We walked through hurts and pains, but even more than that we were reminded of the hope and freedom that awaits each of us on the other side of surrender and trust in the Lord. We learned we can trust God and that His heart is FOR us and for us to have the courage to live fully in Him. Our prayer for you as you listen is that God would begin to part “the Red Sea” of your heart and that He’d pass through your places of deep pain with His healing victory and kindness. May you hind boldness and courage to be vulnerable before Him, knowing that your life and heart are so safe within His care.

James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. By faith, we choose to actively draw near to the Lord’s presence and we should be fully expectant for His presence to come.

Night 1 of RECESS made us eager to spend the next 12 weeks to learn what scripture means when it says to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). Thank you Jesus that we can have hope in the fullness of your presence when we come face to face with you in Heaven. But may we not wait passively. May we be a bride preparing herself for her groom by tasting and seeing your goodness, love, and glory here on earth.
