Paul Schulze shows up and gets involved in their nonsense. Things do not go well and I'm sad for the girlfriends of these trash boys (Edie Falco is BACK for her THIRD Bill Sage movie!). It's kind of amazing how these people all seem like they're filming in the same 6 blocks and everyone does everyone else's projects. It's beautiful, really. Good for them. I used to stare at the video box for this at the video stores when I was very little. As an adult, looking for potential spookies, people say things like "This is the best werewolf movie there is!" Is it? IS IT?!?!?!?!A short story collection is framed around the fever dreams of a young teenager who has been practicing kissing her teen beat posters. In them, there be wolves/jerk dudes. Sometimes life gives you lemons and sometimes you're like lets bring the dead back to life.Re-Animator!This is the first in our legacy picks and our first spooky of 2025. We Did "From Beyond" last year and we decided to do another Stuart Gordon for fun. Was it fun? Would seeing "From Beyond" first and losing your mind over Crampton in her S&M outfits make this one a pinch less exciting? Who knows (we know)!College boy with gorgeous girlfriend gets a new roommate who is secretly reviving the dead. He kicks him out and says "That's not ok!" Just kidding, he's like "dang, can I help you make angry zombies?" and, of course, hijinks ensue. We've got seven more spookies this Halloween season, and if you're excited for them, let me tell ya that there's also several more years of spookies to choose from! Giddy up! This is a long time coming. Jules and I love us some Bill Sage. Things popped off hard with his performance in "High Art", and I realized I already liked this guy when I was a teenager and watching Hal Hartley movies on IFC.Robert John Burke gets out of jail for manslaughter and everyone in his town knows he is a killer. He gets work as a mechanic and falls in love with the daughter of his boss. He's surrounded by interesting characters who say interesting things. After flushing the franchise down the toilet with lazy, boring sequels, "Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV" attempts to right the ship. Toxie is trying for a baby. The diaper mafia takes over a special needs school and while attempting to save the kids, Toxie enters an evil mirror dimension, while his monstrous doppelganger enters his. This is full of sleaze, offensive words, actions, punching down, nudity, poop filled diapers smeared on faces, plenty of r*** and some vicious kills. So, yeah, they did it, and it's kind of great in a special, shameful way.So this is like the final Toxie, kind of? I'm assuming the quality levels are wildly different in Macon Blair's version. So this is a goodbye to Kaufman's uneven run (thank christ, and no we will do the stage play version).

The Toxic Avenger!
This movie is really something. It sets up a pretty hilarious universe full of some of the worst people you could imagine. It gets you excited for vengeance. And then it fills you up with nudity and graphic violence. There should be a masterclass on this thing, and it's apparently a complete fluke that can never be matched (though maybe if they had kept the same writers and directors...).

Before the Marvel stuff went super nuts, but after it was already poppin', a lil superhero movie came out. In 2012, there was...

Chronicle

A sad, shy boy starts recording everything in the hopes he'll catch his dad beating him. He has a cousin/friend who gives him proximity to a normal high school experience. One night, with a third, super friendly charm machine, they discover underground crystals that give them super powers.

"Chronicle" is just great. The found footage angle puts you right into it. Dane Dehan is heartbreaking as the sad boy. Michael B. Jordan as Steve oozes charisma and you truly believe he cares. The cousin character anchors it all as the regular guy along for the ride. I loved this movie when it came out and was afraid it would stink upon rewatch. That was not the case at all. It's time for Phoebe! Phoebe Cates!

For her first movie, she plays a fancy teen in the middle east that a prince or warlord or whatever wants to own. A real dork of a missionary gets wrapped up in this slave auction situation and him and Phoebe end up on the run.

This is a "Blue Lagoon" knock-off. It wants to be a grand adventure, a wacky animal farm movie, and a tale of the discovery of sexuality. Does it succeed at all? At any of that?

No. But it is kinda entertaining.

Once upon a time, they were just killing all of our civil rights leaders. Hey, you got somebody looking out for you? Nope, not anymore.

"Malcolm X" has Spike Lee in a smaller role than the previous movies, but him and Denzel are goofy as heck in this when they're young (do you also, as probably an adult, go to the playground in your suits and play finger guns?).

It's the same length as "Godfather 2". Is it worth it? Tune in!

Here we are. The end. It comes for us all. It's usually ugly. In this case, we say goodbye to Mark Darby Robinson's movies (we done did em all) and we say goodbye to the man himself. With this documentary, we ride or die right up to his final form, and it's so very depressing and honest. "Mark" covers the Billy Lewis run of films, "A Clockwork Maury", "Ding-a-ling-less" and "Septien". We finally get a pinch of info about who this guy is and what he'd been doing prior to the movies we just covered. If you watched any of these, head over to the Scare Network and watch "Mark".

View Details

The final Mark Darby Robinson performance in a film is here, in "Septien". What is "Septien"? Well, three middle-aged brothers are complete emotional messes and when one returns to the fold, things get bonkers. Michael Tully directed and wrote this along with Onur Tukel and Robert Longstreet. If you were a lil IFC dork like me and Jules, this is gonna be your jam. Get ready for odd, sad, funny with "Septien".

For the sixth episode, guess who's going to jail tonight? Everyone. Enter "The Jailhouse".

C. Thomas Howell is tasked with living in a farmhouse/jail with his family and watching after prisoners after a jail burned down. But? But the jail is evil. We've got a psycho, a rapist, a drug mule? A couple regular dudes, and? Mark Darby Robinson has been bouncing checks, so he's in there as well. So what's gonna happen when the evil gets in Ponyboy's head? Are him and the prisoners and his wife and kids going to find community and form a big family while they wait for the jail to be rebuilt? Will none of this even matter a tiny bit by the end? Will Jules blow Jason's mind when he informs him that Rod from "The Signal" is in this? Tune in!

Do they kill everyone in town? Do they ask why anyone would cut sports, because we all know education would be thrown away entirely for football? Or do they fundraise?

Will they get to keep their daddy gold? Will their uncle bleed out in the river? Man, who knows (jk, I know what happens). Tune in!

For the second in our Darby run, and his actual film role (I think... it sounds like he was around in the 80's, but maybe just as an extra?), we have a re-broadcast from our first Robert Longstreet series.

This poor dude gets his pee pee cut off when he's a baby. He is pretty asexual, but loves hearing about his horny friend's escapades. Eventually, he goes to meet up with a doctor who can attach a new dong. That doctor? MARK DARBY ROBINSON!

View Details

For our new run, I ask you "Have you ever heard of Mark Darby Robinson?" Your answer should almost certainly be no, unless you happened to live in Wilmington, NC and would see him wandering everywhere 20 years ago.

The Darb-ster is someone we came across in "Ding-a-ling-Less", an Onur Tukel film we covered in the Robert Longstreet run. He plays the dick doctor and rattles off some pretty amazing dialog in his few scenes. We ended up seeing two more of his movies in that batch and the dude just pops. Much like Eddie Rouse in "Low and Behold", I said "We really need to cover him at some point."

So here we are. Kicking off this one with a few short films. We're re-releasing the Longstreet episodes so all the Mark stuff is in a row and then we end on a documentary that Billy Lewis (who did "4th and Long" and "The Jailhouse") made about his always game friend and actor. Buckle up, this is a wild ride.

Feel free to tell all your friends, sing songs about us, or even rate and review us on Apple podcasts so we can cover a movie of your choosing.

For Wesley Snipes, his fifth movie has him going up against the...King of New YorkChristopher Walken gets out of prison and becomes the King of New York. He rounds up a crew and takes over the drug trade. Why? To fund a hospital. What? Snipes is one of a cop pile that wants him in jail and then dead. I really wanna talk Jules into just doing every movie Abel Ferrara has made. I've only seen two, and both times I was like this movie sucks and then watched them a decade later and said "Holy heck, these things are amazing".Catch up on Snipes, Crudup, Liotta, Mitchell, Gordon, Cazale and Longstreet in our back catalog. People loved this movie. I saw it when I was 7. Charlie Sheen was so dang cool, that I got my hair cut like his character for a year. It's about a loveable group of losers turning a team around and becoming? Winners. Duh. It's a real Ted Lasso situation. Also, Jules and I both thought Wesley Snipes was a baseball player that was cast in the movie and that's how he became an actor.

Richard Pryor has a dream. He wants to open a small screen movie theater. Some mobsters offer him an awful deal, but the police foil it and now the gangsters are gonna kill him in prison. What's a guy to do?!?! Pretend to be a doctor. Is this movie incredibly unfunny? Is it weirdly watchable? Does it have a stacked cast? Find out the answers to those questions and the amount of time Wesley Snipes is onscreen in this here episode of We Doing Filmographies presents: Wesley Snipes!

In America? There is no poverty, no suffering. What do they drive on? Well... Streets of Gold! For Wesley Snipes, his second movie is a boxing drama. Is he the lead? No. Is it Adrain Pasdar's movie? No. It's all about the Russian coach who fled due to everybody being awful about his Judaism. Now he drinks buckets of Vodka and taunts young boxers but then trains them. Also, he's not Russian in real life. Is this good? Maybe. Is there some surprise racism when it shouldn't really be a surprise cause it's the 80s? For sure. Can people overcome their differences to beat up the dirty Russians? Come on, what do you think??? Tune into more of the Wesley ship as it sails down the canal of cool. Ryan Phillippe and Benecio Del Toro are scumbags who probably smell real bad. They commit crimes and kill people for money. They kidnap Juliette Lewis to ransom her to Herschel from the Walking Dead cause she is full of baby. But he is a gangster or something, so he has henchmen (Taye Diggs, Nicky Katt and the James Caan). Things will probably work out great for everyone. Also, Juliette Lewis's dad is in this and he is playing a game of which gun has bullets while he clicks them to his head. I'm freshly 18 when this comes out and I really wanna see it. Why? Cause that lady is yelling at them so mean and then they punch her in the face. Yep. That's what appealed to me at 18. The worst part of it is that I then didn't like the movie cause it wasn't as fun as the opening. So here we are, 24 years later and it's a Jules pick. And boy is this thing loaded with 2k dialog. They be saying bad words left and right. But also? Jesus christ this thing is great. CATS OUT OF THE BAG! Please do rate, review, and subscribe. If you leave a review on Apple podcasts, you can pick a movie and we'll do an episode on it. Wesley Snipes is around the corner!

We didn't like Julia Roberts growing up. Not at all. But then we watched "Everybody Says I Love You" and "I Love Trouble" and we were like "oh! I get it!" So we were mildly excited to love this movie. DID THAT HAPPEN? Tune in. We can travel to Italy with Luca Spagetti, to India with Richard Jenkins, and then we can wrap it all up with in Bali with Javier Bardem calling his son sweetheart. Perhaps this is a real gem. Pew pew, pop pop! Ahhhhh! This has that guy in it that people are pretty sketched out on now. He plays John Dillinger. He goes to jail and robs banks and goes to jail and associates with some people who are bad news. One of us is surprisingly into this! One of us is like "why is this movie full of history lies!". Who is it? And did you know Crudup is in this? And Christian Bale? Whoa! What about the scary guy from "Don't Breathe"? Yep, and he's prettttty cool.Mann it up with a Michael Mann full of men doing guns and money.

Things do not go well.Nobody has heard of this movie. It's much better than you'd think, considering it doesn't exist.

And so I say DEDICATION.You know, like that Post Malone song? Anyways, Billy Crudup plays a real wreck of a human being who is wildly cruel to everyone. He also writes children's books. The artist he is teamed up with DIES (rest in peace Tom Wilkinson) so he has to pair up with Mandy Moore and is super not nice. Can they get the book done? Will they be friends? The Crudup pile grows mighty with a movie Robert Deniro directed.Matt Damon is boring. He's perfect to be a special agent. He ruins the lives of the people he "loves", but Angelina Jolie does ride him in a pile of dirt 5 minutes after they meet. This movie is very long. I had seen it before. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to try to accept how depressing it is that Philip Seymour Hoffman is dead and has been for quite a while. Thanks a lot, heroin. Tom Cruise has to save the world. Hoffman wants to ruin it. Someone is doing us a double cross. And the supporting cast is stacked. Anyways, these movies are pretty dang great. Tom Cruise is terrific, Hoffman is scary, Keri Russell has a brain bomb and our REASON FOR MAKING IT THROUGH EACH DAY, Billy Crudup, plays tired so very well. Billy Crudup. David Duchovney. Maggie Gyllenhaal. Julianne Moore. Wow. Look at that cast. How have you never heard of... Trust The Man. Billy's a lil baby boy afraid of death and commitment. His girlfriend Maggie wants him to grow up. David is horny but his wife doesn't seem to like him in that way anymore. They have two kids. This is a comedy. It's also the second movie we've covered by Bart Freundlich, the first being "World Traveler", which we hated so very much. Do you have any guesses on how the second Bart movie is gonna go? Does Billy's facial hair enrage Jules? Is Jason disappointed in the undercutting of the soul of the film when they make lame jokes? Mirror mirror on the walll, who's the flyest ho of all? BILLY CRUDUP! Stage Beauty. All the dudes are so horny for Billy in this. He is an actor who portrays women on stage (as women are outlawed from performing) back in the 1600's. Claire Danes also wants some of that Billy, but she's his assistant and he seems to mostly be into dudes. She also performs in underground, illegal plays and ends up getting the law removed by the king (Rupert Everett, who is hilarious and fantastic in this) and basically ruins things for ol Billy. Jason loves the past, but not those stinky European cities of that Era. Will Jason and Jules click with this? Will they fall in love with Danes? Will they bow to Billy's greatness? Brandon Lee. Charming. Handsome. Sweet moves. There was a little window where people were like "this Brandon Lee is gonna be huge!" And he should have been. But? He died while making "The Crow". We'll talk about it plenty throughout the series. "Kung Fu" was probably pretty rad back when it aired in the 70s. It straight up sucked when i watched it in the 90s. This is a movie they made in the 80s, trying to drum up interest in another run of Fu, probably with Brandon Lee either fronting it or being David Carradine's sidekick. On the fifteenth day of Pitts-mas, the garbage man gave this trash to me:Cool World.I remember ads for this in comics when I was little. I rented it way too young. I only really remember it being boring. Is it still boring? Yes. And horny. So, so horny.Kim Basinger is a horny doodle who just wants Gabriel Byrne to bust in her guts so she can come to the real world and... apparently turn it into a cartoon world, which she was trying to escape cause it sucks. Brad Pitt plays a human in toonland who has to go get her in the real world, a place he hates after his momma died.On a scale of dumb to awesome, how much do you like getting a Pitt day? On the fourteenth day of Pitts-mas, my barber gave to me: JOHNNY SUEDETom Dicillo's first movie! Brad Pitt's the lead! His hair is GIANT. He's a dumb jerk who has a very high opinion of himself and his bad music. He lives in a wildly gross apartment, but I guess it's so cheap you don't even need a job. Then? He's nearly killed by a hat box with magic Suede shoes that aren't actually magic, but he loves em.Is this movie amazingly boring? Is there something wrong with Catherine Keener's mouth? Does Nick Cave look like some sort of childhood monster in this? FIND OUT! On the 13th day of Pitts-mas, two super rad women gave to me: THELMA AND LOUISE Two cool ladies go on a fishing trip. They do not make it to the lake. One of them keeps making really bad decisions, despite the other one being like "don't do that." And then Brad Pitt shows up. You think his character smells just awful? He's gotta be next level stinky, out there in the sun, hitching days at a time. You probably smell that butt 50 feet away. On the 12th day of Pitts-mas, Ricky Schroeder ruined my life with a pair of nunchucks (nunchucked my butthole in a fight and it fell out). Across the Tracks! Brad Pitt runs real good. Ricky Schroeder just gets out of Julie. They are brothers. Ricky likes to party, bro. And he's got a cool buddy in a leather jacket he gets trashed with. But? He starts running with his bro. Did you know Brad Pitt was in a thrash/boy band called 2young2die? Jk, on the 11th day of Pitts-mas, Juliette Lewis gave to me: Too Young To Die? This poor kid. She's 14. She suffers through constant trigger warnings (should we do trigger warnings for this? This one's bad for that type of thing) and has a good time for like a week and then things get bad again. However, her and Pitt act their lil butts off in this one. Also, they dated and she was 16 and he was 26. For years. But hey, is 14 too young to die? On the 10th day of Pitts-mas, Albert Finney gave to me: The Image. John Mahoney. Albert Finney. Kathy Baker. A newsman reports the news wrong and a guy suicides. Can he make it right? Maybe, if Swoosie Kurtz gets out of his way! Also, Brad Pitt. I had to buy this thing on DVD. Why isn't it readily available? Is it because it's so boring it just washes over you and someone has to dump you in a shower and run cold water over you or it will carry you into the afterlife.

On the ninth day of Pitts-mas, a small child with spider legs gave to me, HAPPY TOGETHER Patrick Dempsey, before his McDreamy days, when he was a dork heartthrob of the the 80s, made this early 90s rom-com with Billie Jean herself, Helen Slater. He's a baby boy writer who's gone off to college. She's a free spirit actor who lied on her roommate sheet and now they live together. Will shenanigans occur? Will they fall in love? Did Jason cry while watching this movie on TV back when he was 12? Did Jules punch a hole in his laptop and start puking into it because this is such a dreadful film? Who knows? But? On the eighth day of Pitts-mas, a killer gave to me, a slasher movie. Cutting Class. I've seen this one before! I completely misremembered who the killer was. Donovan Leitch gets out of the mental institution for killing his dad and returns to school.  Someone is killing off people at that school. Brad Pitt plays the kinda monstrous boyfriend of a girl everyone sexually harasses. What on earth is happening? Who did this? Why is Leitch's hair sooooooo horrible? Is this a comedy? A satire? On the seventh day of Pitts-mas, a man came from the darkness, dressed in leather, and gave to me "The Dark Side of the Sun". Brad Pitt is a leather daddy. With a leather mask. And the mouth hole is leather and isnt actually a hole. Anyways, he's got this skin disorder where light will kill him (yes, even candlelight is lethal, no he's not a vampire). He's in the Czech Republic. He meets a lady who is into the leather and not scared like you would be. Is this romantic? Cute? Did it sit on shelves for years due to war? Does Pitt actually look wicked handsome in this? On the sixth day of Pitts-mas, the Amish gave to me. Non-violence. Time for "A Stoning in Fulham County". A real Pitt role. He says words. He has a name. He helps stone a baby to death cause I guess people like to throw rocks at the Amish. Ron Perlman plays the dad of the baby. Everyone in town is garbage. Ken Olin is trying to bring justice as the d.a. Is this movie wildly boring? Maybe you should fire up Netflix and find out. Or just listen to this episode. "Getting In" is one of those early 90s comedies you probably saw on Comedy Central if you are old (It's true. Hi, fellow oldie). It sure does have a lot of famous faces in it, both future famous (Matthew Perry, Calista Flockhart, Dave Chapelle) and past famous (Kristy Swanson, Andrew Mccarthy). You know what else? It's Doug Limons first movie! Years before "Swingers" and "Go"! And who else is in their first movie? Yes, that is right, Robert Longstreet.

Is this movie just terrible trash? Is Kristy Swanson just great in it? Why was that possibly homeless person killed in the dumpster at the beginning? You've got questions, we've got some answers!

Kuffs rocked so hard when I was 10. Christian Slater was funny AND the coolest. Plus, he can take a bullet and kills everyone he shoots at. He also abandons his pregnant girlfriend and drugs a cop with so many sleeping pills he blows spit bubbles the size of your head (he should be so dead).

Watch Kuffs. Listen to this episode. Call the hotline with your hot takes. Visit http://www.linktr.ee/wedoingfilmographies and then be our friend on all the socials, rate, review, subscribe, live, laugh, latte.

It's time for the final Radha (for now!) and it's bleak.

Here's the imdb synopsis: Jews rise up in the Warsaw Ghetto against the Nazis in 1943.

There's a lot of accents. There's not a lot of character development. There is a lot of runtime. There is a Radha with brown hair. Also, vampire Bill (Sookie!).

Join us for the 11th Radha episode and I will make no mentions of getting on or off a Radha train due to the subject matter.

Catch up on the rest of Radha, Billy Crudup, Ray Liotta, Keith Gordon, some randos and a bucket of spookies by clicking the link in the bio or copy/paste http://linktr.ee/wedoingfilmographies

Hey, look, it's the 10th Radha Mitchell in our run! In this one, her character is named Doctor Fart-ass. Isn't that crazy? OK, I'm lying, her name is like Jess or something and she doesn't have a doctorate, she owns a diner and does everything there, except there's no customers... usually. Then 7th Heaven, Josh Lucas and two other knuckleheads show up and we got a noir on our hands.

Is this mysterious? Is it believable? How does one get a job working 4 hour shifts at motels AND live there? Does New Zealand look like Oregon? Tune in!!!!!

Podcast available everywhere so you can get your Crudup, Gordon or Liotta on. Link in bio or copy/paste https://linktr.ee/wedoingfilmographies

Heres the 9th installment on the Radha run, buckle up, it's insanity.

Ok so there's two dummies. They are so dumb. One puts chapstick on his anus regularly. There's some jail and then one of em rescues a baby from a car wreck and raises it. Do you like the idea of a total moron raising a baby? I think that's not good. I am scared for the baby.

This thing has Skeet Ulrich, Gary Oldman, Peter Greene, Ed O'Neil, Anna Gunn, Matthew Modine and? RADHA. RADHA MITCHELL. Is it good? Is it awful? Does it simply suffer from being directed by someone who wrote some well received screenplays? Why is Gary Oldman in this?

The Radha Mitchell filmography run continues with her 7th movie and the weirdness of her filmography is taking off.

Ok so there's this lawyer. His fiancee is a butthole and leaves him on their wedding day. He so sad. Then a magic lady in a dumb hat shows up and they run around doing "fun" stuff. Then he meets another lady and she pretty much says I love you, never hurt me. Who is the cowboy and who is the angel? Is this a Jesus movie? Did you know Adam Trese sells real estate now?

Join us, won't you? You know, like Karina Longworth says? Listen to this episode, listen to the rest. Listen to the Billy Crudup's, and the Ray Liottas, get your hands on that Keith Gordon and be our friend forever (it won't be that long, we are in our 40s).

Before he had family, he had super eyeballs. That's right, it's a movie that helped bring us ol Vinny D. Do you like Vin Dielsel? Or do you hate all that vroom vroom bullshit? Well, here he is, with Radha Mitchell, playing with glowsticks and smelling each other while pterodactyls gobble up everyone.

It's Radha's 7th movie. We're getting close to the end kinda.

Time for Radha's 5th movie (it's really the 6th, but "Kick" is only available in a German dub... why???). You ready for this? It's a DEAD BABY MOVIE. Does that sound like a good time to you? Here's another nugget, it's the movie that came before "Monsters Ball" for the director Marc Forster.

Is this good? Is it full of super irritating shots between? Did the cast do it for free for God knows what reason? Can Jules pronounce Megan Mullally? Does it have the fakest pregnant belly of all time? The answers to all of these questions can be found right here, in the latest episode of We Doing Filmographies Radha Mitchell run.

Once upon a time, there was a short film about a mortician who fondled her lady friend while she sleeps until she doesn't. She is very sad, but then she meets Clea Duvall. It's a stylish film, full of famous faces and the creator goes on to create the queer classic "But I'm a Cheerleader". However, the only place you can find it on youtube has it in insanely awful quality where you can't make out much in detail and the frame rate seeks weird.

It also has Radha Mitchell in it!

Join us as we discuss the short "Sleeping Beauties" and how Jamie Babbitt went on to be wildly successful after making this, how Rose Mcgowan was a nice surprise and hey look it's that guy from "Clay Pigeons".

Radha Mitchell's 4th movie! It's about a real detached married guy (Paul Hipp) whose wife (Bitty Schram) only let's him get it once a month cause they're trying for a baby and she doesn't even make that one time fun (dont touch those! Hurry up and finish!). When they go on vacation, they hire a couple to house sit (Radha Mitchell and Boyd Kestner). His wife throws a fit, cuts the vacation short and they end up living with their house sitters until the wheels fall off everything and the husband is eating Radha's business and her boyfriend is emasculating/putting it in the husband against his will.

I don't even know where to begin with this thing. My opinion of it changed constantly. It has one of the worst trailers I've ever seen. It's a couple bucks on youtube and you get three movies for the price of one! It is pretty great when Radha shoves Hipp's head downtown and makes him get to work, but what do I know, I'm a horny creep.

It's Radha's third movie! And? And I don't know about you, but if I had a boner for my neighbor, I still wouldn't be like yeah let's snort heroin together that sounds awesome.

I member when this came out on VHS and it looked boring. Granted, I was 16 and it just had two snuggly ladies snuggling on the cover and that name doesn't inspire excitement, but here I am, an old man, watching these ladies get horned up for each other while doing bumps of H. Is it good? Has it aged well? People loved this thing when it came out. You know what I will say? BILL SAGE RULES. BILL? BILL, I LOVE YOU.

It also has Ally Sheedy, Patricia Clarkson, Gabriel Mann, and David Thornton.

"Love and Other Catastrophes" is a movie. It's Australian. It's part of a genre I love that I call "young people living on their own for the first time and experiencing life". It's also real boring. It does have Frances O'Connor though. She's very nice looking. And we got Radha in what would be her first movie. You ready to get your Radha Mitchell on? Well I hope so, cause "More Winners: Boy Soldiers" is her first thing resembling a movie. These kids, they just wanna sell rabbits and muck around. Is that so crazy? Yeah, cause WW1 is brewing and the Australian government wants them real young kids to fight! But you know what? This one kids is like "nah bro, violence is wack, i dont wanna be your boy soldier", and it causes all kinds of problems. Also, Radha Mitchell is his girlfriend with two scenes and like one line (she made some cake). This is like 47 minutes and on youtube. Seems like "Winners" and "More Winners" were basically after school specials about Australia's history and people. Hey, you seen that "Uncut Gems"? Pretty good, right? Stressful? How bout that "Good Time"? I had to take a break in the middle of that one, almost had a panic attack. Well those are movies written and directed by the Safdie brothers. Honestly? They're pretty amazing. So for my pick (hey, it's me Jason), I said let's watch "Daddy Longlegs". It's an earlier Safdie, and I'd heard it was good, but it sounded like bad things were gonna happen to the kids in it and I've got two boys just like in the movie. It had been sitting on my desktop for over a year and this podcast was my excuse to watch it. Some thoughts on the movie would be that Abel Ferrara is a completely believable street person who will probably kill you, Faraz is right about everything, lizards don't go in food, and it would seem that the world is worse for having Lenny in it. Ray Liottas wife? She dead. His daughter? She no talk now. Whoopie Goldberg? She shaking this mess up and getting everyone back on track, even if she does do a little too much heaven chatter. Also, someone tell Don Ameche to stop touching people's faces.Anybody else see this movie at the videostore when they were little and think "well that looks boring and terrible." This movie has a marketing problem that I cannot solve and it has nothing to do with a time machine (which I would just use to kill serial killers anyways. Hold on to your hats, it's the 10th episode in the Ray Liotta run! And there's NO ESCAPE! So Ray Liotta plays a military man in 2022. He does some sad murder of civilians because his commanding officer forced him to. So Liotta shoots him in the head. Seems like he could of just blasted the dude first and then not killed those women and children, but whatever. So he goes to future jail. And it sucks. The recently deceased Michael Lerner sends him off to a secret convict island after giving him a beating. Is the island cool? Are the bad guys cool? Is anything in this whole movie remotely cool? Hot take: "Unlawful Entry" is Ray Liotta's best performance in this run. Yes, better than "Goodfellas". WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT?!?!?! This movie is pretty amazing. I'm not even gonna fake like maybe we don't like it. Liotta is crazy amazing in this. His ability to generate warmth and appear to be the dopest dude ever and then be the scariest of the scaries is astonishing. Its the 8th episode in the Liotta run and what if there was a movie that kinda did MASH and sorta did Scrubs? What of it was full of hot, young doctors performing secret surgeries because the VA is evil and won't provide life-saving medical care if it wasn't caused by bullets? What if John Mahoney was being a real bad dude once again? Well, then you would have Article 99. Ray Liotta, Kiefer Sutherland, Kathy Baker, Lea Thompson, John C. McGinley, Forest Whittaker, Keith David and John Mahoney! What a cast!Did Jason love this? Did Jules decide he wants this playing on a TV when he dies someday? Holy moly, this here is the 7th film credit (that still exists) for our buddy Ray Liotta. It's not "Women & Men", which has James Woods, nope it's "Women & Men 2"! Which has Scott Glenn! Matt Dillon! Kyra Sedgewick! Andie McDowell! Juliette Binoche! And? RAY LIOTTA.I wish I could tell you it was good. Or even kind of interesting. I can't lie to you. These three stories are impressively dull and go nowhere. Somebody clearly thought they were making something low-key powerful and thought provoking, but they were wrong. A boxer, an ad man and a writer all have somewhat substantial issues with ladies in their lives. I kind of feel like if you molest someone and push them out of a car, you get pistol-whipped, but maybe I'm just old fashioned. It's time for our "Goodfellas" episode. There are many more like it, but this episode is mine. It's a great movie, so it's a good episode. Jules does some voices, I open the episode with an anecdote that will probably jettison the last of the older people we lured in on Facebook, and we both marvel at how that young guy at the beginning turns into Joe Pesci in just a couple of years. How is Ray Liotta in hus most iconic performance???? I guess tune in to find out!

Say, you, uh, got any kinda feelings about actors playing characters with developmental disabilities? You know, like your Rain Man's or your I am Sam's? Oh boy that's a tricky one. Probably not a great idea... This here "Dominick and Eugene" has Tom Hulce playing Dominick, a garbage man who supports his brother Eugene (Ray Liotta) through medical school. Is it going to make you turn it off in disgust? Does it have gentle and loving characters? Is a co-worker who seems like he's going to be a real scumbag turn out to be the secret heart of the movie (shoutout to Todd Graff, out there making wine these days. You rule, Todd)? Why does that dog kill himself so aggressively? You should see this. I say that, but its actually pretty hard to pull off. LIOTTA. WEEK TWO. "SOMETHING WILD". YOU'VE SEEN THIS RIGHT??? I suspect this is really the introduction to Liotta for most people in the late 80s. It's a kind of meet-cute? Jeff Daniels meets Melanie Griffith. Their relationship is built on lies. You slowly grow to like them. Then? A spooky monster shows up. It's Ray Liotta and he seems like he might be cool, but also no he seems like he's faking and is going to kill you. Here's a question: why was this on Comedy Central so much in the 90s? Is this funny? Like at all? Based on my math, there's a few chuckles and some steady amusement, but what???? I hope you're playing along here, cause we could all do with some reframing of Liotta and that unhinged lunatic idea we have of him. Bridget Fonda and Campbell Scott are gonna have a baby. She has some baggage because her dad abandoned her as a child. Unfortunately for her, in the weirdo, confusing world where souls wait to be born, her son is refusing to do it. Is "Delivering Milo" a Christian movie? It is pro-life in that if Anton Yelchin continues refusing to be born, the world ends. However, the hero of the movie is a real piece of garbage who abandoned his family (guess who?) before he died and now while he is supposed to be showing the value of life to Anton Yelchin on earth, he's actually trying to fck a bunch of ladies, getting drunk and generally being a piece of sht. Jules and I continue the Keith Gordon filmography and we're talking about the 9th film in the run, 1985's "Static". Keith is a dang shining star in this, a quirky 90s comedy about weirdos that came out in the mid 80's. He works in a crucifix factory, his cousin is a street preacher/hustler/doomsday enthusiast with two weird kids who wear lizard masks and fallout suits while drinking tang, and his maybe love interest left a dope punk band to hang out in a garbage town with a fish shaped diner while Keith gets ready to unveil his life's work: a TV where you can see heaven. I want to say it's weird this has no real cult imprint, but Mark Romanek, who directed and co-wrote with Gordon, doesn't acknowledge it and they missed a decent distribution offer in the days before they were scooping up indie movies left and right. Nowadays you can find a bootleg vhs on Amazon or watch a laserdisc rip on youtube (there's a link in our YouTube page). Tin soldiers and Jules is using copyrighted songs again. Kent State. Hippies. Protests. National Guard. And? They kill a handful of kids cause really what would you think would happen arming a bunch of young kids and sticking them in a pile of other, angry kids? NOT GOOD! Anyways, 11 years after the national tragedy, they made a TV movie out of it. And guess what? It's surprisingly good and it's kind of a horror movie (you just hang out and get to know everyone and it just goes and goes and then bam, tragedy). It's also Keith Gordon's fifth movie that you can find (thanks youtube and tubi!). Y'all seen "Dressed to Kill"? You seen this thing? You should probably watch it before you listen to this. Or if you're morally opposed to it, that's cool, it's a tricky one like that. The killer most definitely is dressed to impress, though (lookin fly, leather lady).Keith Gordon re-teams with Brian DePalma for a pretty rockin' thriller that's really just "Psycho" with a bucket more horny than anything Hitchcock ever did. Watch Keith be real smart. Watch Keith be real brave. Watch Keith kill it as the son of a murder victim. Then listen to us talk about how boring the first 20 minutes of this is and how bonkers hot Nancy Allen is in it. You can find the podcast by googling us, clicking the link in the bio, or copy/paste this: https://linktr.ee/wedoingfilmographies . Neither of us was looking forward to watching this. We saw the stills of Roy Scheider in his sparkly shirt and said "this looks terrible, I don't like musicals".  But, you know what? This movie is super rad and isn't really a musical and that godawful shirt doesn't come in to play until the end. Tune in and listen to us talk about how ridiculously cool Roy Scheider is in this and how it's basically a biopic that a guy wrote and directed about himself (the legendary Bob Fosse) and running himself into the ground popping amphetamines and liquor while sleeping a few hours of night and simultaneously crafting a horny musical about an airline and editing a stand up special by a fake Lenny Bruce. It's showtime, folks, and Keith Gordon needs you to watch him do a little dance in his third feature film. Follow us on the Facebook, dance with us on the reddits, kiss us on the instagrams, watch the word burn on youtube, and step on my neck on twitter. Y'all know Brian DePalma? The 80's Alfred Hitchcock? He made Carrie, the Fury, Scarface, Dressed to Kill? Those are pretty cool movies, right? Well, what if I told you he made a somewhat autobiographical COMEDY? And that Keith Gordon plays a version of DePalma who is trying to get evidence of his father cheating on his mother? Ok, what if I told you it had black face in it TWICE? Or that we got a few n-words and the bad f-word? Well, hold onto your hat cause it exists, it stars Kirk Douglas, we're talking all about it right here on We Doing Filmographies as it is Keith Gordon's second film! Also, it's in its entirety on YouTube if you wanna watch it before you listen to us talk about it.

Keith Gordon was an everyman. He was a little bit cool, a lotta bit relatable, and a good chunk of dork. He was the kind of dude you rooted for, even when he was dating his haunted car. I say was, but he's still alive, living his best life, directing some of your favorite shows. But the Keith we hung out with in the 80s has been retired for a very long time.

Join Jason and Jules as they watch Keith Gordon's filmography, starting with what should be an awful, awful pile of garbage: Jaws 2. Roy Scheider is back as Brody, that turkey Mayor Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) is as well and they say lightning never strikes in the same place twice, but what about sharks? Will sharks just keep showing up in a non-shark zone? If a shark kills a bunch of people In a small town, will they listen to you if you say there's another shark? Was Jason surprisingly scared while watching this movie? Tune in and find out!

Jules and I tried real hard to find some wicked spooky short films. We watched a lot. It didn't go well. Here's the five we get into it about.

  1. Lights Out
  2. Beau
  3. The Strange Thing About the Johnsons
  4. This House Has People In It
  5. Teaching Jake About The Camcorder, Jan. '97

My takeaway from all this? Ari Aster is amazing. Billy Mayo was an amazing actor working off of Aster scripts. It's really very awful and sad that him and Aster never got to make a feature together. Beau and the Johnsons are amazeballs.

Hey, we should play with a ouija board in a graveyard. I think that's what you're supposed to do. And we'll make some spooky friends. I think those were the takeaways from watching "Ouija: Origin of Evil", a prequel to a terrible movie that is wildly better than its source material. So, for real, is this the one that gets us? WILL IT ROCK OUR SPOOKY SOCKS OFF?!?!?! Also, this includes a shorter review of Ouija.  Cause Jules watched that, too.

Ok so a bunch of people are trapped in a building cause there's bad guys outside but also the real horror is within. Am I talking about "Prince of Darkness"? Nah, brah, it's the 2016 horror movie "The Void", which, yeah, is totally the same bones as the Carpenter flick. This week we talk people peeling off faces, burning cult members alive, fighting smaller cthulhu, going down the scariest staircase you ever done seen, and giving birth to monsters! Cal decides to abandon his family on his son's 3rd birthday. He starts traveling. Sound good? Does this sound like a movie you want to watch? It sounds great, right?

This is Bart Freundlich's follow-up to the '96 "The Myth of Fingerprints", which, if you are old, maybe you remember that being an indie movie that was kinda whatever, but did have Noah Wylie in it. Billy Crudup plays Cal, Julianne Moore is Dulcie, and James Le Gros has the dumbest hair you've ever seen.

This is the loosely biographical story of writer/director Cameron Crowe as a teenager, played here by Patrick Fugit in his first film role, as he tags along with a band as a 15 year old journalist for Rolling Stone. Brad Pitt and Christian Bale almost played Russell Hammond, the guitarist of a fictional band on the rise in "Almost Famous". Pitt said "nah" and our buddy Billy Crudup ended up with the role of a lifetime. In his 11th credit, Crudup plays the coolest person you'd ever meet, and someone so handsome everybody else in the band looks like a bag of trash.

"Waking the Dead" is Billy Crudup's 10th film, directed by Keith Gordon (who switched over mostly to directing after acting in "Christine" "Jaws 2" and "the Legend of Billie Jean"), it's based on a best selling novel by the guy who wrote "Endless Love". Jennifer Connoly plays Billy "the prospective senator" Crudup's hippy girlfriend before she dies in a terrorist attack. OR DID SHE?!?!?!? When I saw this thing back in 2001, I cried and cried and cried at the end. Do I feel the same in 2022? Is it going to be Jules favorite movie? Is Hal Holbrook in this? What about Sandra Oh? I bet maybe John Carroll Lynch is somewhere in there? Now send us kisses on Instagram as wedoingfilmographies or on Twitter as dofilmographies

I'm gonna level with you: I, Jason, love this movie. It has been my favorite movie since I saw it in the theater in 1999. This is the reason Billy Crudup is on the list of filmographies to cover. Do you want to laugh about dead bunnies? See a guy with a knife in his eye? Watch people chomp pills until they're a mess or see a very sad overdose? Watch this movie and then listen to us talk about it. Alison Maclean, Denis Johnson and Elizabeth Cuthrell crafted this hilarious and sad world we watch Crudup slop through along with Denis Leary, Samantha Morton, Jack Black, Michael Shannon, and Holly Hunter.

Jason and Jules go deep into the anime flick "Princess Mononoke", created by the legendary Hayao Miyazaki. Why? Cause Billy Crudup voices the main character. Ol Billy is joined by Billy Bob Thronton, Claire Danes (who he'll soon star with in "Stage Beauty" and start dating), Minnie Driver and Keith David. Do Jason and Jules like anime? Do they like this thing? Do you want to be friends on Instagram? Or Twitter?

You can't stream "Grind", you can't pirate "Grind", but you sure can order it off Mercari from some dude in Florida and eventually realize you both respect and enjoy Paul Schulze. "Grind" is Billy Crudup's 4th film on imdb, but it's for sure his actual first and it was made by the same people that made the shark misery film "open water". Also stars the wonderful, late Adrienne Shelly in a pretty darn underwritten part.
