February 24, 2023: Coming in under the wire … again 😢 … this is what happens when you’re thrown off your routine (back injury) and your doggie doesn’t do her job waking you up in the morning (bad Piper Onion 🐶). February 23, 2023: My back is feeling a lot better today. I’m able to jump up from my chair and the couch without any pain. February 20, 2023: My back is feeling better each day, and I’m so grateful for my wife helping me through my recovery. She’s even taking off from work tomorrow just so she can help me as I recuperate. In sickness and in health, right? | We’ve been a little Frozen heavy on characters lately, haven’t we? February 19, 2023: I am still having some bad back issues, and I’ve already went ahead and called out of work for this week. Sorry, but I don’t even feel like trying to write reviews about today’s character, history, or quote.
February 18, 2023: after yesterday‘s post, I was getting ready for wound up with a minor back injury. I went to get it checked out, and looks like I’m gonna be laid up and helpless for about a week. I absolutely hate being helpless and unable to function on my own. She’ll forgive me today for not being really grateful for anything, because I actually hate this feeling, and I hate the way this medication makes me feel. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be in a better mood, so just have to accept this for now.
February 17, 2023: That’s right, tonight wifey and I are going to see the live stage performance of Impractical Jokers 🤩 It’s one of her Christmas gifts to me 🥰 And tomorrow is another surprise show 😊 | “Smee, Smee. What About Smee? Smee! Smee! Smee. Smee. What about Smee? Smee's me. What about me?” … ok, so that’s not from the version you would think of from Disney, but it’s from Bob Hoskins’ performance of the character so it GOLD!!! | Today is the birthday of the third voice of Minnie Mouse | Today Walt speaks about leadership 🤔
February 16, 2023: I just came off of a 13 hour overnight shift, so please excuse me if my entry is short and thin today. I’m used to 13 hour shifts, but changing to an overnight throws off my circadian rhythm. He may be one of six on the team, but his the big number one hero in our hearts. | Today a legendary actor is born who broke a number of barriers as the first live action character in a Disney film as well as the first black actor to receive academy awards. Yet his film is one that Disney pretends never happened. Perhaps he needs to be the first subject of our upcoming Disney Deep Dive Series? | A legendary animator tells us what his goals were with new styles of animation.
February 15, 2023: For those who don’t know I have recently become a kilt person. That is over the last several months I have started wearing a kilt more often. Right now it’s only for special events and when I go axe throwing, but I’m slowly building up a collection and hoping to wear a kilt more regularly as the weather gets warmer. I was telling a friend of mine about a particular tartan that I want to get, and I’ll post a link to the video here ( https://youtu.be/X7HOUDpINcs ). While I’ve been trying to learn more about kilts and the meanings behind different tartans, I came across this video and have decided that I want to make the CONTINUE tartan one of my next purchases. However, I have had no luck in finding it at any online store. This past week, however, I was talking to a buddy of mine and shared this information with him. Later that night he sent me a link to a Facebook group specifically for this tartan, and I immediately found that they were putting together a headcount to place a large order! Today I am grateful for how this timed out, for the people who are organizing this purchase, for my friend who pointed me this way, and for those who believe in bringing mental health awareness to the forefront of conversations. I’ll try to keep you updated as I go, just know that I am super excited about this!!! | Today’s character is the teacher of us all, as he taught us the way and set an excellent example for how to carry and conduct yourself (at least from a certain point of view). | Behind every great man, there is a great woman without whom he would be lost. February 13, 2023: To start out I wanna follow up with yesterday’s marathon tournament. I had an amazing time, and have absolutely no regrets from participating in it. We spent about 11 hours going through two months worth of league play and a tournament. Not only did I compete, but I also got to serve as one of the official judges. I’m tired and sore today, and my feet are absolutely killing me. But I had a wonderful time and would definitely do it again (although not for many many months). I’m very grateful that my wife got me into the sport of axe throwing, and that I was able to find this wonderful axe family these past eight months. | I realize all too late that you can’t talk about one of the Frozen sisters without talking about the other. | On this day we got a sequel we didn’t need a live action remake we didn’t ask for. February 12, 2023: Today I’m participating in an axe throwing marathon league/tournament. We are spending about 10 hours covering equivalent of two months worth of standard league games. Today I am very grateful for the group that I found here, a little “axe family” if you will, I who are just super supportive and encouraging no matter what your skill level is. I’m nowhere near one of the better throwers, but everyone continues to support me and encourage me to do my best . I’ll let y’all know tomorrow how today turned out … but so far we are halfway through, so just know that I’m doing better than I ever have before! | Today’s character has the super power pretty much every teenager would want to have | On this day, Sleeping Beauty’s castle disappeared. February 11, 2023: Today I am grateful for the “Space Force” crew I work with. My specific shift as a paramedic has me rotating every other Friday to a place I refer to as “Space Force”, with my regular partner and another crew. These guys have been trying to help me take my personal fitness more seriously, and yesterday we succeeded in my doing 120 push-ups!!! Not all at once, heavens no … over the course of the day. We start out with a set number to start the day, then another set after each call. I’m so grateful they not only encouraged me to do this, but also showed me how easy it was to do. My arms and shoulders hurt like the Dickens today, but I’m working towards a healthier life now 😁 | I don’t care what this characters real name is, I’m always gonna call her the evil stepmother 👿 | Today we celebrate the birthday of a legendary sculptor who crafted presidents as well as the man AND the mouse!!! | Walt tells us his philosophy on money in todays quote.
February 10, 2023: So after my late post last night I was scrolling through my analytics and found that Piper Onion and I have a new audience in France!!! 🇫🇷 ❤️ This brings our total global audience to NINE COUNTRIES 🤩🥰 And nine is my lucky number 9️⃣🍀 Guess it’s a sign that it’s time to take this podcast up a notch, and explore expansion. | Todays character is voiced by Billy Joel, which means he actually had multiple Disney credits (not just the music to Tarzan) | Today we celebrate the birthday of the best voice option for the second best mouse in the Disney universe!!! | Today, legendary animator Ward Kimble gives us some dang good advice 🥰

February 8, 2023: Today I am grateful for patience. Recently there was some negative press about our agency, and of course we were very passionate about how our name is being dragged through the mud just for the sake of sensationalism and clickbait news headlines. We could have reacted immediately, but that would have been playing to the lowest common denominator (like that reporter does). Our leadership team exercised patience and that turned out to be the best overall approach. Too often we jump and react without thinking how our actions will ripple down the line. We owe it to our future selves to help set them up for success. | I’m so happy Glenn Close accepted to play this character. An actor of her stature playing a supporting character really brings a great level of legitimacy to what some would call “roller coaster” movies. | Today we celebrate the birthday of the greatest film composer of all time!!! January 7, 2023: today’s character comes from a landmark film, which is probably going to be one of the only times you will find animated characters from different studios, starring in a single film. We just won’t get cross overs like this anymore. And I absolutely love this movie; I am thinking of using it as the first subject in my upcoming “Disney Deep Dive” series. | On this day a little wooden puppet hit theaters, entering our hearts, and becoming a real boy. Also, one of the few voices for Mickey Mouse is born on this day. | Today’s quote gives us insight as to where Walt got the idea for Epcot
February 6, 2023: I’m having a bit of a rough morning. Can’t seem to do anything right this morning as I get ready to leave for work. If you believe the fan theories, then he’s actually an angel trying to earn his wings by escorting an old man through the afterlife. | Today the man who created the man himself, celebrates a birthday. February 5, 2023: Late last night an old buddy of mine sent me a message that he was flying into town for a quick one day trip, and asked me if I wanted to go see the play Les Miserables. So of course, as a theater person, I said yes! Today I am very grateful that my old theater buddy is coming into town and already has tickets for this amazing play! | I have a weird feeling that today’s character was already highlighted, but I also keep terrible records, and cannot be sure. | On this day, we celebrate the premiere of one of my favorite Disney films growing up, as well as the birthday of the voice of one of the most evil villains in the Disney canon. | Walt will never stop believing that there is a great big beautiful tomorrow! #Optimism
February 4, 2023: It was a difficult week at work, so today’s character is a very fitting for the depressed mood throughout our agency. | On this day we celebrate the birthday of the voice of Prince Charming 🥰 | Legendary animator Frank Thomas tells us what is was like working on the classic films.
February 3, 2023: Today, on my way into work, I was listening to a podcast about the issues with cars and debt. Today I am grateful that I not only own my car out right but it is also reliable. I hate cars so much! And more than hating cars, I hate the NEED for a car in my life. Unfortunately public transportation is absolutely terrible and no other options are available aside from becoming a hermit. Seeing how much money my friends are spending on their monthly car payments, but also the expenses of insuring and maintaining those cars when they’re older, makes me grateful that I have no car payment and my car is incredibly reliable. Although I need an oil change right now, that’s about the extent of the major maintenance expenses I face. I really wish our community was set up with better public transportation because I would jump on that in a heartbeat!!! | Today’s “character” is a set of three characters, but they are usually referred to as the collective, and not individually. I’ve never really seen them portrayed alone, but always together whenever they make an appearance. | On this day, the movie The Three Caballeros was released. It would become a forgotten Disney film until recently, but it has now sparked a series on Disney+. My only criticism is that all the streaming services are pumping out subpar content just so they can expand their library. And unfortunately, it’s the audience that loses out. | Walt takes an interesting perspective on using his films to educate children, and I’m conflicted on how I feel about it.
February 2, 2023: I’m not publishing this until after 10 o’clock at night because I was lazy today. Piper cuddled up in my lap and used her magic powers to keep me from accomplishing anything. So instead I’m just gonna post a link to a YouTube video, showing the lowering of the flag ceremony at the Magic Kingdom. I really admire that they pick a veteran each day to be honored during the ceremony. https://youtu.be/SHQ1q-J8kc0 | My mum loved BB-8 when he premiered in theaters. She even bought a water bottle of him, making it the first actual Star Wars merchandise she ever bought for herself. | Did you know that Walt Disney created an animation studio before he created the company Disney? It’s kind of crazy to think of him any other animation studio besides Disney Animation. I guess it just goes to show you that success is hardly ever a straight line, but rather a winding path. | George Lucas, famously doubted that Star Wars would ever be success. And today we get a quote from Princess Leia herself about it.
February 1, 2023: Today is the first day of Black History Month, and I’m so grateful that we live in the modern world. It’s not perfect by any means, and there’s still a lot of progress to be made. But go back to any other point in history, and everyone everywhere was much worse off. Culturally, and politically, everyone was worse off. Modern sanitation, abundance of food and it’s availability, medical science, and job safety are just a few of the examples of why it is better to live today than at any other time in history. Let’s not lose our momentum, but let’s also be grateful for how far we’ve come even in just the last few hundred years. | Today’s character is one of the “street level” Avengers, meaning that instead of being in the big movies she has a TV show. However, she was also one of the forerunners to all of the Marvel TV shows we have today. | On this day we recognize someone who started as an ice cream vendor, and rose to one of the more prominent Imagineers in the entire Disney organization. It really is a testament to persistence and consistency in excellence. | Yoday, Walt gets deep about innocence.
January 31, 2023: Yesterday I saw a video from the famous YouTuber Mr. Beast ( https://youtu.be/TJ2ifmkGGus ). In this video he helps cure a thousand people of blindness! These were people who only needed a 10 to 20 minute procedure to clear up the cataracts and clouded lenses in their eyes, but did not have access or financial resources for the procedure. In traditional Mr. Beast fashion he pays for everyone’s procedure and even gave tens of thousands of dollars to several people who lost their jobs or were severely financially impacted because of their blindness. Even gave one guy a brand new Tesla! Today I am grateful for people like him. Say what you want about Mr. Beast, but here somebody who is able to earn millions upon millions of dollars from their YouTube channel, and he turns right around and gives it back to people in need. I also support his channel “Beast Philanthropy” which helps a food bank and other causes here in my home state. I’m grateful that there are people like him the world, especially the younger generation (yes, I’m an old guy). He gives me hope for the future that people like him are rising to power and influence. People like Mr. Beast certainly are not the celebrities we deserve, they are the celebrities we need! | Long live the king!!! Granted, it’s a French legend that’s been appropriated by the English. | Seems there is a special, magical “dream suite” you can stay in at the parks. | Pixar’s Lee Unkrich gets deep about kids and mortality.
January 30, 2023: Here’s another video from YouTube, created by a former cast member, and highlighting some of the Easter eggs on Main Street USA! Especially when it’s steamed and cook with butter and some spices. 😋 | On this day, we celebrate the birthday of a man who started at the bottom and rose to the top. Well, kind of the top … it gets kind of complicated when you get to the top brass of Disney. | Walt tells us that the key to making something in the Disney way is teamwork. The key is always teamwork!!!
January 29, 2023: Today (and last night) has made me grateful for quiet nights in. Yesterday, after Piper and I went for a nice walk in a local park, I wasn’t feeling too well. Told the wife and we agreed to a simple Saturday night in, binge watching Law & Order and The Office. It’s nice to have days like that … not every day needs to be a legendary adventure; sometimes you just need a little time to relax and recover mentally (especially for us introverts). | Todays character is an often forgotten figure who was integral, though, in the friendship of the legendary Fox and Hound. | Did you know that Walt always wanted to make a sequel to Fantasia but died before he could. His nephew, Roy Disney, spent making his uncles much desired sequel: Fantasia 2000. | What does it take to lead someone to being a great artist? A legendary Disney animator tells us in todays quote.
January 28, 2023: Today I am very grateful for the parents that I had, especially how they were able to keep their sanity raising me and my brothers. Lately I’ve seen too many children in rough home situations, with parents who have taken to substance-abuse as well as just plain giving up on being parents. It really breaks my heart to see children in these situation, especially when I’m unable to take them away from all that pain and misery and give them a loving home. But it also makes me very grateful for the parents that I had. So when you two eventually read this, I love you mum and dad! | Today’s character is the man who mentored and basically taught princess Leia to be the strong, independent woman she eventually became. I’m convinced that because of him we got one of the best princesses in the entire Star Wars galaxy. | on this day, we celebrate the accomplishment of a world record achievement! | Walt tells us today that the key to art is to make it as a gift for somebody, which sounds very similar to something John Green once said. That’s why I make this podcast for my wife and Piper Onion. 🥰🐶
January 27, 2023: Let’s try yesterdays attempt at a YouTube link again ( https://youtu.be/Xo2L4UKVMcE ). Hopefully it works better putting it in the show notes instead of the title. Besides podcasts, I pretty much live on YouTube. I come across so many great things that I just want to share them with people who also love the things that I love. Hopefully this will work going forward, and we can continue to celebrate Disney every day in our own little way. I’m really grateful I’m not attempting to make money off this podcast, because it gives me the freedom to use it as I want and create the content that I want to create. So many podcasts and Youtubers that I follow seem to have to create based on what their audience wants to listen to. Sometimes it comes across as fake when you can see that they’re not all that enthusiastic about the subject. I’m glad and grateful that I have enough income from my main job that I don’t need this as a side hustle, and I don’t have to invest in a lot of equipment or subscriptions thanks to the free tools and platforms that are available. | Today’s character is a little big man, and probably one of the best parts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With his new movie coming out soon, it’s only appropriate that we give him the credit that he’s due. | On this day, we celebrate Lewis Carol’s birthday, and we need to remember to give credit to the creators of the stories we love. Writers are often forgotten about. But without the writers, we would have nothing to celebrate. | Today’s quote is from Kevin Fiege, and I’m noticing that a big trend with successful people is persistence. They weren’t any smarter than the rest of us, they just refused to give up!!!
January 26, 2023: I had a thought while getting cleaned up this morning: I’m very grateful for hot water and soap, and the readily available access I have. It’s kind of hard to think that, despite all of our medical advances, basic sanitation like washing your hands with hot water and soap has saved more lives and improved peoples health more than every other medical advancement in history combined.!!! It’s sad to think that there are some people in the 21st-century who still do not have access to hot water and soap, or even the education of how effective it can be to improve their health. That’s one of the reasons why I support The World Toilet Organization … laugh at the name, if you want, but they’re dedicated to bringing basic sanitation to some of the poorest countries in the world. | did you know that the wizard from Fantasia actually has a name? And I wonder if there’s not some symbolism behind it, and that Disney created Mickey Mouse and Mickey ended up running amok on his own after the public fell in love with him. | Today we celebrate the birthdays of mega A-list celebrities, who gave their voices to some of the most beloved characters from Pixar. | Walt get deep, yet again, about the people he works with, and the people who come to his parks.
January 25, 2023: It’s raining today. I’m grateful for this. Out here where Piper Onion and I live it is a slightly heavier, but not torrential downpour, of rain. It’s steady and will be consistent throughout the whole day. As I see what they’re going through out in California, after so little rain for so many years, and now hit with more rain than they can handle, it makes me grateful that there is relatively nice weather out my way on the East Coast. This is the kind of rain our area needs: steady and consistent, allowing it to soak into the ground where it’s needed without washing away the topsoil. With the condition of our planet right now, and where it’s projected to go, I’m grateful that I’m not as impacted as other people. But with that awareness I hope that we realize there are other people in this world desperately in need of our help, and I hope we can all provide some form of aide for them. We’re all in this together, whether you like it or not. | Today’s character is a curveball for everyone. Not a character from a movie, but a character that was made for and is exclusively found in the Disney parks.| On this day, we celebrate the birthday of a voice from The Princess and The Frog, as well as the Cars series. This day also gives us 101 reasons to be excited for a movie premiere.| Speaking of Pixar: today filmmaker and Pixar prominent, Andrew Stanton tells us what it’s like to work for the company. For those who don’t know, Andrew Stanton was a major player in making some of the most iconic Pixar movies.
January 24, 2023: Today’s character may not be your father, but he’ll always be your daddy (#MaryPoppins Y’all) | On this day a technical genius is born, and I don’t think we truly appreciate the advancements he made in the field of animation | Walt preaches respect!
January 23, 2023: Today my partner at work (let’s call him “Bravo” going forward from here) and I have decided that our goal for the day is to be ‘sub-par’ … we’re aiming low. Like we would say in grad school, “Under promise and over deliver.” However, Bravo and I would like to point out that in golf a lower score (below par) is actually a winning score 😂 So yeah, that’s our goal for the day!!! I’m so grateful for a work partner who had a similar sense of humor as me and that I click with so easily. I can tell you that 90% of job satisfaction being a paramedic is directly related to the person next to you on every call. So Bravo, whenever you’re reading this just know that I’m grateful for you being that person next to me 🥰 | Today’s character is a non-aristocratic cat from the Aristocats (my voice to text feature didn’t pick up that last line, and I had to try retyping it twice 😂). I particularly appreciate the word play on his name, much like another famous cat and mouse, comedy duo (not Itchy and Scratchy, though). | today was the inaugural run of the famous monorail, as well as the inaugural performance of (yet another) celebration parade. | A legendary animator tells us the key to delivering effective emotion via animation
January 22, 2023: Today I am grateful for the internet, specifically how it allows us to connect niche interests on a global scale. While reviewing the analytics of this podcast I found that there are listeners now in Namibia 🇳🇦 (a southwest African country along the Atlantic coast with a population of 2.5 million people and a GDP of $12.3B USD). It still amazes me how we can be so connected across oceans, continents, and hemispheres 🌎 🌍 I am grateful for this connection and welcome our new listeners 🥰 | Todays character is an octopus 🐙 but he only has seven tentacles 🦑 However, though folks have been calling him a “septopus”, he should really be called a “heptopus” because of the Greek language. The root of octopus is the Greek for eight (okto-), so a seven tentacle cephalopod should us the Greek root for seven (hepto-). Also, fun fact, the pluralization of “octopus” is actually “octopuses” … rule of thumb: when the root word origin is Latin, it’s pluralized with -i; when the root word origin is Greek, it’s pluralized with -es 😁 #LinguisticsDegreeMicDrop 🎤 | I remember hearing about the opening of this attraction, and how irritated all the reporters were when they felt depreciated by the presenters at the opening press conference. | Todays quote references sloth and cowardice, so I feel personally attacked. January 21, 2023: today I am grateful for the opportunity to attend the legendary Shen Yun Chinese cultural performance. I’ve seen this advertised for many years, but I’ve never had the opportunity to go. This past Christmas, my parents bought tickets for my wife and I to attend a show, and today’s the day!!! We’re both super excited. I’m so grateful that I have the opportunity to travel for performances like this, as well an amazing life partner to experience it with 🥰💍 | Today’s character was a coach to us all growing up. He taught us to flock together, and believe in ourselves. #QuackQuackQuack | On this day, a beastly voice is born, while the lion king starts getting the recognition it deserves. | today, Mark Hamill tells us that he has no regrets playing Luke Skywalker, as that is the cornerstone of his career and everything he has @HamillHimself
January 20, 2023: Today’s character is an excellent role model to teach children persistence and not to give up on their dreams. | On this day the iconic voice of Snow White is captured for all time! | Walt tells us that we need to inspire children to never give up in the ongoing battle with evil.
January 19, 2023: Piper Onion didn’t do her job in waking me up this morning. She let me sleep in, and I’m actually grateful for that 🛌 ❤️ I’m adjusting to my new shift which is throwing off my internal clock. So today I’m grateful for having regular days where I can sleep in. Sleep is one of the corner stones of health … if you’re trying to improve ANY aspect of your health and general wellbeing (physically and mentally, as well as emotionally) start with improving the quantity and quality of your sleep. I used to toss several times in the night and awaken with hip pain. Then my wife and I transitioned to a new mattress, and I’ve been sleeping better while awaking without pain!!! | Since Piper Onion 🐶 didn’t wake me early this morning, I’m a little thrown off. January 18, 2023: Even though today is Wednesday, I am bringing my wife lunch at work. Today I am grateful that I have a job that allows me some days off during the week so that I can have little dates like this with my wife. January 17, 2023: Today I am grateful for the plethora of food options available to me. My wife and I have been looking at new dietary options as part of our New Year’s resolution, and we are fortunate enough to be able to be picky about different food items and sources. We’re able to not only have so many options but we’re also able to turn away certain choices if they don’t meet our standards of sustainability and nutritional values. I know that not everyone in the world, in fact the overwhelmingly large majority, do not have these options. I am so grateful that I not only live in a country and in a community where I have this, but my job provides me with the resources to be able to have these options available to me.| Fun fact: the All-Father himself lost his eye because he voluntarily plucked it out. While he was younger he was out on one of his many adventures, and one of them brought him to the legendary Tree of Knowledge. January 16, 2023: Today I am grateful for modern medicine! Today is my wife’s anniversary of an experience that changed her life forever. I am so grateful for modern medicine because it made it possible that she is still here with us today! I think too many of us take our health for granted until it’s far too late for ourselves or when a loved one is impacted directly. Modern medicine is far from perfect, and as a healthcare worker I can see how broken it appears to most people. But there have been more developments and advancements in the last 50 years then in thousands of years before. If you or someone you know has been impacted by horrible disease, and they’ve been saved by some kind of new technique or approach, be sure to give thanks today because tomorrow everything could change. | Even though today’s character is a fan favorite of some children, Piper and I believe Brendan Fraser portrayed a Tarzan like character much better than the Disney movie. We’re just thankful Phil Collins did the soundtrack! | Happy birthday to Lin-Manuel Miranda! January 15, 2023: Today is the last day I will be working with my current partner, because I am moving to a new shift with a new partner and a new team. “Parks” has been the best partner I have ever had. I am so grateful for our time together. He’s at the top of his paramedic class, incredibly intelligent, hard-working and dedicated to our trade, and it is without a doubt that working with him has made me a better paramedic overall. I didn’t expect to leave him so soon but an opportunity came up that will be better for my overall work life balance. I’m really gonna miss working with him, but I know we’re both gonna be moving on to bigger and better things. But as it’s our last day, and yesterday we literally saved two lives, I just want the world to know how grateful I am (and what a privilege it has been) for having been his partner. | Today’s character is an excellent metaphor for self-confidence. It’s amazing the potential we’re able to unlock it ourselves when we just believe in ourselves. January 14, 2023: This is the one-hundredth installment of the podcast Daily Disney! Our 100th episode!!! The average podcast lasts only seven episodes, or less than two months. And here we are having produced daily installments for over three months. Today I am grateful for my persistence. Yes, this is a shameless self congratulations post and I know that I am tooting my own horn while patting myself on the back here. But I’ve been the kind of person who’s found it easier to quit things then stick with them. I have, unfortunately, quit more things than I’ve stuck with over the years. So today I am grateful that I have stayed with something for so long (relatively), even if it is just a simple and silly daily podcast. Piper Onion 🐶 and l worked hard to set up the “magic” behind the scenes that allows us to make daily episodes easily. January 13, 2023: Last night my wife and I went to a cooking class, a Christmas gift her father gave us. It was a really fun date night with really amazing food! I’m so grateful that I have such readily accessible food options available to me. I know not everyone does, but I’m so grateful that food access is not a major concern in my life. Even to the point where preparing food is a recreational activity and not some kind of a daily challenge. That’s why I support the YouTube channel Beast Philanthropy, because in addition to all of his other philanthropic activities his primary charity is a food bank here in my home state. | What can be said about today’s character? He’s done pretty much everything, and we all owe him a big thank you! | I know that is Friday the 13th today, but it’s a fairly lucky day for Disney! Mickey’s first premier, the premiere of Snow White in New York, and a major Disney attraction all opened up on this day. So perhaps it’s a lucky day after all. | Today a Disney animator, that is not Walt Disney himself, tells us one of the biggest challenges faced when making an animated film.
January 12, 2023: Today I am grateful for my dog, Piper Onion. This little Jack Russell Terrier is one of the most lovable creatures I have ever known. She is the first one to greet me when I come home at the end of a long day, with her little nub of a tail wagging like crazy. She gets super excited whenever we go out for walks and she has encouraged me to be more active because of that. She also loves to cuddle up in my lap when I’m reading 🐶 🥰 I need to thank my wife for bringing her into my life, and giving me the best doggie ever! | Do we have two characters we’re featuring today? Galen Erso, today’s spotlight character, purposely built a law in the death star two later be exploited. January 10, 2023: Today I am grateful for my job, and all the opportunities it is affording to me. I am so grateful for the people, especially the supervisors, that are fighting to get me on their teams. I just accepted the offer for a new, very desirable shift, and this comes from being given several options 🚑 So although I’m grateful to have a job that I love, I’m even more grateful to have to work in a place that loves me back 🥰 |Today’s character is a guardian that feels all the feels. Although I feel that her innocence is sometimes leaned too much on for comedy. No matter how simple or small they may be, or silly and strange (like starting a daily podcast with absolutely no previous experience) she supports me in everything that I do 🥰 I am so grateful to have her with me through this journey of life! The power of practicing gratitude, especially on a daily basis, has been shown to do wonders for mental health and to help combat depression. So I’m putting it out there that I will start practicing gratitude on a daily basis, with Piper Onion by my side 🐶 Since Piper and I produce these podcast episodes in the early morning hours, it will probably be something that I was grateful for the day before. January 3, 2023: Now that we are into the depths of winter, it’s probably a good time that we recognize a soldier of winter (the Winter Soldier, that is) | Parades and annual anniversary celebrations are a tradition that go back to the very start of the parks | Walt believes in the importance and power of music in all of their works, and the audience appreciation for it seems to have dwindled over the years (in my opinion) … But personally I think Lin-Manuel Miranda is introducing music appreciation and its complexities for a younger generation. But of course, to Piper and me, the man who wrote Hamilton can do no wrong!
January 2, 2023: The reason Snow White had to be re-released into theaters is because during World War II Disney animation focused their resources into producing propaganda films for the US government. This meant a drastic drop in revenue which almost made the company go bankrupt. To avoid going under Walt Disney had the idea of re-releasing an already finished film to generate more revenue, since the upfront cost of a re-release is extremely minimal compared to the original production and release cost. This tactic actually saved Walt Disney and Walt Disney animation from bankruptcy and annihilation during World War II. Re-releasing movies, and the Disney vault concept, have been a key element in Disney’s revenue stream ever since | As far as our character of the day, he’s a fun-loving frog but probably Piper’s third favorite frog in the Disney library | On this day the voice of a key family member is born … and remember that “family means no one gets left behind” | Walt believed that his team was able to accomplish anything, and history showed that they broke just about every barrier that they faced | In unrelated Disney news, today is National Introvert Day.
