No, not literally. Blake & Rachel - two millennials tired of the current structures under which we exist, take on the challenge of breaking down complex topics like capitalism, imperialism, and colonialism, apply those concepts to how they're playing out in our lives, and ask us to believe in the possibility of imagining new structures not built upon oppression.
Two terrible tastes that taste terrible together! In this episode, we expand on our last episode's discussion of the social impact of capitalism and the rise of fascism by discussing the state of white people in America. We discuss the inextricability of capitalism from whiteness, the historical roots of white supremacist institutions, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and anti-Critical Race Theory propaganda, the Republican Party as a mechanism for white grievance politics, DEI initiatives in the halls of corporate America, and the mechanisms at work in our social and economic systems that destroy solidarity.

In this episode, we break down the impact capitalism has on our relationships, minds, and bodies, and ask the question—why is it so hard to talk about a world without it? What’s at stake for our lives in the dismantling of capitalism, and how can we open up space to imagine other kinds of worlds? We begin to venture into naming what those worlds might look like. As we do, we also discuss the necessity of holding space for grief, the lies that fascism tells to people in crisis, the role of love and care in the dismantling of oppressive systems, and the importance of centering the dignity and worth of all people as foundational to our movement.
