On this episode we are joined by the kindest-spirited Tammy McDermid, as she generously leads us through her journey of surgery, bra designs, cold water swimming and boxing training. She describes hersself and her friends' antics whether that be two middle aged women surrounded by very polite sweaty men at boxing training or her group of swimmers putting the world to rights and surprisingly enjoying all that goes along with chilly swimming. Thank you so much Tammy for letting us into your very personal story, and for being so fun. This one takes the record for having to edit out the most giggling :) I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did.

In this episode we get to meet Bethany Stephens @therandomyogi, yoga teacher, lawyer and all round gentle soul. We talk about the many benefits of yoga, how to entrench a habit, and the benefits of yoga on Musculoskeletal health. We also share stories of how we took on our 2nd careers, as Bethany is also a lawyer as well as having her own studio in Texas and I talk about moving from being a recruitment consultant into becoming an osteopath. This is the first of many expert episodes that will be sprinkled into the season periodically where we get an inside track from some experts, and I get to geek out a bit 😊

ā€œwe’ve become a yoga family, there’s just a love there because we come together at least twice a weekā€

Charming Australian Alyce Garth has quite the story. Iron Woman, International triathlete, long distance trekker (we’re talking 240km through the desert) and currently enjoying 30k trail runs – all after spinal fractures, getting through worrying about whether each run would flair up her symptoms, and being diagnosed with hypo-throidism. Alyce describes her journey back to exercise and her evolving relationship with her body. She says all the right things; whether it's about keeping energised having lived through hypothyroidism, about how to get a habit in place and a team around you to get up to high level exercise or about how bad times do change. I loved learning from her and hearing about her journey getting back to exercise, her unassuming her courage weaves throughout the pod, she was a real pleasure to interview.

from... "Is this run going to push me over the edge?" to ā€œaccepting support can actually be quite hardā€ to "It was just that switch: I can do this!"

On this show we get to hang out with social Influencer, nutrition coach, personal trainer and bikini fitness athlete Kirbie-Be. She overcame many obstacles to reach a peak state of fitness, only to find herself diagnosed with arthritis at the age of 36. She then had to re-train her mind and body to exercise differently this time. In this conversation, we’ll be exploring the mindset, habit integration techniques and exercises she used to get back to exercise - as well as having a great chat about glute building! I caught up with Kirbie-be while she was in Mexico - absolutely living her best life.

If you want to hear someone’s heartfelt story of over-coming severe mental health crises and also why sometimes it is fine to just lie on your yoga mat and not do anything – this one’s for you. How did this interview just feel so light hearted considering all the BIG content we got through!?! Probably because Claire is one of the most funny, generous ladies I have had the pleasure to interview… prepare to feel impressed and a little bit in love. In this episode we cover post-partum psychosis, body image and exercise and have a bit of a giggle, listen to the end for a little bit of fun :)Ā

If you would like to get in touch with the wonderful charity Claire advocates for: Action on Post Partum Psychosis here's the link https://app-network.org/
