In this testimony night we had the opportunity to hear team testimonies from the discipleship trips to the Bible Baptist Church of Newark, OH and to the New Life Baptist Church in Converse, TX. We also had the opportunity to hear from John-Mark and Miranda Ziegler when they went to Malawi, Africa to see if that is the field that the Lord is calling them to in the future.

As this series comes to a close, we need to take a closer look at the importance of prayer and being very near to the Lord in times of warfare. Honestly, we are always at a time of war, and so it is necessary to daily be near to the Lord in a close, intimate relationship with him. The closer we are to him, the more victorious we will be in our daily walk and in our ability to glorify God.

When we are in true, biblical prayer we are in fellowship with the Godhead. This is incredible! There is nothing greater than being in complete fellowship with the Lord.

Praying with importunity is a concept that can be foreign to many Christians today... and it is important for us to consider.

Praying in secret is our personal, intimate time with the Lord with no one else involved... it truly is the manifestation of our faith and true walk with the Lord. No one else sees or hears you and I praying in secret... only the Lord. This is where we speak to the Lord face to face, as a man with his friend.

Having a right heart attitude is at the root of many, if not all of our sin issues and mistakes. If we are willing to humble ourselves and be submissive to our Lord with all our heart, we will have a right heart attitude that will lead us in the will of God and plan of God for our lives.

Living a life of thankfulness is directly tied with one's ability to glorify God. The moment we become ungrateful and unthankful we are focusing on self and are unable to glorify God. This will of God is extremely underrated for most Christians today.

The next will of God for your life is to obey authorities. This one is a very important one, and it truly is a matter of the heart. If we do not understand that God has ordained all authorities, then there will be something severely lacking in our personal walk with God.

After the 1st will of God of being repentant, the next is to be sanctified. If we are going to live for the Lord in this world, we need to be set apart from this world and unto God and his plans/purposes.

This first will of God is the most important. To be repentant means to have a deep heart-attitude of repentance toward God, and this disposition will change everything in our walk with the Lord in this world!

Both questions are great discussions, and the one about depression/anxiety is not an easy, black-and-white answer. It takes great wisdom and discretion from the Lord to truly know how to handle a given situation. It will vary for each person and situation.

The Charismatic/Pentecostal doctrine of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is one that can be a bit confusing to clearly understand. The verses they use are taken out of context and the interpretation twisted to support their particular view. When anyone views these verses and passages in their proper context it is extremely easy to see that their doctrine is totally unbiblical.

The Millennial Kingdom refers to the overthrowing of all the kingdoms of the world and the establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ as the King of Israel. Possessing a biblical understanding of these details will help the Bible-believer to see many end-times events in their proper context.

The book of Daniel and its prophecies are among the most debated areas of the Bible because it proves that God is real and his book is the authority. Among these contested prophecies is Nebuchadnezzar's dream of an image. This dream speaks of Babylon and all the subsequent Gentile kingdoms of this world that would rule the planet until the Lord Jesus Christ puts them all down and sets up his own kingdom... the Kingdom of Heaven.

Islam is the fastest growing religions worldwide and it is the 2nd largest religion. Many believe there is a close tie with Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, but there are some very stark differences when you compare Islam to Biblical Christianity.

The roots of atheism and evolution can be traced back the Greek philosophy of materialism popularized by Epicurus, but it gained massive momentum during the enlightenment as a form of social and political rebellion against the corrupt church-state systems controlled by the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches. Calvinism has ebbed and flowed in popularity over the course of the last 50 years, and often it is portrayed as the theology of "true Bible believers," but that is a totally incorrect portrayal. If one is a true Bible believer, they cannot be a Calvinist or an adherent to Reformed Theology.

The Mormon religion is likely the greatest offender of redefining Christian and biblical terms. Since the 1820's, this cult has amassed substantial human, financial, and political resources that will absolutely be used under the leadership of the antichrist in the Tribulation period.

The Jehovah's Witnesses is our first venture into cults that claim to be Christian, using terms that seem biblical but they have completely redefined those terms. It is an example of why it is so important that the Bible is our final authority.

Venturing into the tide of protestant denominations, we start with the Church of Christ / Disciples of Christ / Christian Churches. Branching out from the Presbyterian denomination, those in this denomination carry with them many false doctrines received from the RCC... the greatest being the false doctrine of baptism for the remission of sins. Again we see that the Bible must be our final authority in order to be sound in our doctrine. Only when we are sound in our doctrine and live out that sound doctrine can we truly glorify the Lord.

After going through the Roman Catholic Church (RCC), it is appropriate to talk about Protestantism before venturing out into various other denominations. Many historians (lost and saved) teach that biblical Christianity was in and always has been in the RCC, but that they had lost their way and needed "reformed" and "purified" to return to what it was supposed to be. What they do not tell you is that there have always been faithful disciples of Jesus Christ that were never a part of the RCC, and therefore never protested it to reform it.

With 1.3 billion members, the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) is one of the top religions of the world. The RCC claims the name of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and uses the Bible, but when investigated and compared to what the Bible says it is in complete opposition to God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible. If we are to have a proper heart and perspective to reach our Catholic family, friends, and neighbors for the Lord Jesus Christ, it would do us well to know a little about what they believe and how they think.

The introduction and first lesson on what does a true, biblical church look like sets the tone for the rest of the series. This series is not meant to be just informative so that we can soak up more information to prove "why we are right and everyone else is wrong..." but it is to be better equipped to minister to the world for our Lord Jesus Christ. We are called by God to be actively involved in the work of the Lord, and that means we are to lead the lost to saving faith in Jesus Christ alone and make disciples of Jesus Christ by bringing up born again believers in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

After examining the false doctrines of Calvinism/Reformed Theology, we need to discuss how we need to properly and earnestly contend for the faith. Wisdom from the Lord is extremely important so we can be the best ambassadors of Jesus Christ that we can possibly be for him.
When examining not only the context of verses and passages Calvinists/Reformed Theologians use to support their false doctrines, but examining the grammar and basics of the English language, it is clear that the tenants of Calvinism/Reformed Theology are unfounded and found wanting. Pastor Rory Wineka speaks about this plus other aspects of his life and ministry that were impacted by Calvinism.

The last letter in the TULIP acronym stands for "Perseverance of the Saints," or as many Reformed Theologians like to rename it, "Preservation of the Saints." It is the doctrine that the faith God gives his elect is a faith that makes the elect to persevere unto the end and receive salvation. It may sound a lot like the doctrine of eternal security, but it is not. This study unpacks all these details and shows how this doctrine robs verses away from eternal security to support their understanding of perseverance of the saints.

Continuing down the TULIP train of Reformed Theology, we now discuss the doctrine of Irresistible Grace. Similar to previous weeks, if you believe in the doctrines of Total Depravity you begin to be cornered into believing Unconditional Election, and then Limited Atonement, and now Irresistible Grace. Rather than letting the Bible speak for itself on this matter, man's philosophy wrests and corrupts the scriptures to make it teach a doctrine that it simply does not say! It is good for us to just read, believe, and love what the Bible says and let it be the boss and determine our doctrines!

From the Calvinistic / Reformed Theology perspective, Total Depravity leads to Unconditional Election, which leads to Limited Atonement. Each doctrine goes hand in hand in their philosophy. The truth is, if one chooses to believe in a Limited Atonement, they are not Bible believers! In order to believe this false doctrine, you must read that doctrine into the scriptures. There is not a single verse in the Bible that teaches in its proper context that the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross is limited to only the elect that God unconditionally chose before the foundation of the world.

The doctrine of Total Depravity naturally leads to the doctrine of Unconditional Election. We uncover in this lesson how Calvinists / Reformed Theologians continue to rip verses and passages out of their context in order to create their particular interpretation of election. They say the Bible is clear on this matter and is in their favor... but the Bible is actually very clear that election and salvation are two very different things.
This is the first lesson out of five dealing with T.U.L.I.P. doctrines of Calvinism / Reformed Theology... Total Depravity. This lesson serves as a foundation to the rest of the letters in future weeks. Are humans so totally depraved in their sin nature and personal sin that they are totally incapable of responding to God in a positive manner? Can a man or woman receive the gospel of Jesus Christ according to their own freewill? The Bible clearly gives truth on these matters!

In the weeks to come we will systematically analyze the doctrines of Calvinism / Reformed Theology with the Bible ALONE as our FINAL AUTHORITY. Through the scriptures we will see that a Bible believer cannot believe in Calvinistic doctrine when they study the scriptures in context, comparing scripture with scripture, and following other basic rules of Bible study. God's heart as always been for the common man and to have a real, thriving relationship with the common man and common woman. Any person, doctrine, or system that stands in the way of this aspect of God's heart will find themselves in grave error.
