This final episode is all about how to network with purpose and with better results. When you take a look into where you are spending your time and money on networking, you come to realize that there are organizations that may not be the best use of your resources. You may also discover that there is a gap in your networking efforts. Listen in on what you can do to determine is you are committing random acts of networking or in fact… Networking on Purpose.

Marketing is not the sole responsibility of the marketing department; leadership plays a critical role in creating great marketing strategies and content.

There is a theme amongst frustrated business owners when I talk to them about their lackluster marketing results, and it is this: ‘Nobody seems to be on the same page.’ Does this sound familiar? Have YOU said this in your leadership meetings? There is a solution, and it comes down to one word.

What is that word? That is what this episode is all about!

RebelMindset: Marketing strategy includes the people inside your organization just as much as it is about those outside of your organization.

It’s the last episode of 2023 and I am discussing planning… (like so many other people’s podcasts this month), what makes this one different is that I have a sense of humor and provide tips that just may change your life in 2024. You won’t know until you give it a listen!

If you don’t like to word ‘plan’ then change it to preparation. The point is that if you don’t know where you are going, you have no idea where you’ll end up! Still not sure you want to give it a listen, don’t take my word for it, listen to a man who changed a nation: “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” – Abraham Lincoln It is never too late to listen to this episode because it is never too late to PLAN!

RebelMindset: It’s time to stop committing ‘Random Acts of… ANYTHING!’

In this episode, Brent will be sharing his wisdom as Milwaukee’s Small Business Coach on what are the right questions to ask yourself AND what is the mindset you need. You will find yourself celebrating or learning from your reflecting exercise and how your 2023 can positively impact your 2024. Last week we talked about the benefits of PAUSING.

If I had a nickel for every time someone has said to me, “How is it December already?!” I’d be on a private beach right now, not in cold and damp Wisconsin! However, I am not one to throw the first stone living in the same glass house. (translation: I am also someone asking that question, so no judgment here!!)

The next three episodes are all about what you do now (or early 2024) to make 2024 an amazing year. This is NOT the quick fix, ‘do this and your life will be golden’ kind of advice. It’s about taking a pause, reflecting on 2023, and planning for 2024.

Today’s topic: PAUSE

RebelMindset: If you are using the “I’m busy” response to, “How are you?” as a badge of honor. Stop. Your busyness is doing more harm than good.

Referral-based marketing isn't about you... let me repeat that... it isn't about you. When you go out to network and come back with no leads, a fixed mindset will say 'That was a waste of time', whereas an open or infinite mindset will say, 'I planted some seeds today about how I help people let's see how they grow.'

This episode is an introduction to introductions.

Nothing gets my blood boiling more than when an organization’s marketing team and sales team are at odds with one another. I see it time and time again when the revenue numbers are low, marketing is pointing a finger at sales saying they mess up all the leads and sales is pointing the finger at marketing saying there aren’t enough qualified leads coming in. STOP IT!

RebelMindset: Marketing is storytelling and Selling is simply telling that story to other people.

There are two books that I love to read over and over again. The first one is “QBQ” by John G Miller and the second one is “Find Your Why” by Simon Sinek. They both talk about the word why, yet in very, very different ways. One says to use the word ‘why’ to further your business and one says not to use ‘why’.

This begs us to ask the question: “WHY is that?”

Have you ever ask yourself “why” do you need marketing in the first place? Most people don’t sit down and ponder this question before launching a campaign. The “why” questions is so much more than simply knowing what call to action you want your audience to take. There are 6 core reasons you need marketing. The key: pick 2 and only 2 for a certain period of time. Unless you have a big marketing department to run several campaigns simultaneously, stick to 2; otherwise your message becomes diluted and all you will do is confuse your audience.

We will go over reasons 1 & 2 in this episode… the 2 most common reasons people need marketing. This is all part of Chapter 2 of The Rebel Girl’s Guide to Marketing book. Want to learn more? Click here: The Rebel Girl’s Guide to Marketing | Marketing Book (rebelgirlmarketing.com)

Next week I’ll be talking to a business owner in my network about how she uses these 6 “whys”in her marketing. Cheers!
