Today, Sara explores the metaphor of life as a house (or a garden), inspired by a recent conversation with friends. When we view our life through the lens of our environment, we allow intuition to show us when we are in alignment and that it’s ok to sit back and enjoy the fruits of our labor. However, if we aren’t living in alignment with our purpose or desire, what wisdom can our environment reveal to us?

Sara shares her personal reflections on new beginnings marked by her recent move, emphasizing the opportunity to recreate one's life. Listeners are encouraged to ponder the state of their own homes and gardens as reflections of their lives and consider the broader questions of purpose and fulfillment.

In this episode, Sara sits down with somatic healer and teacher Po-Hong Yu to discuss the benefits of setting up home altars and how they offer a sense of peace and support within our living spaces.

Sara and Po share their commonalities in how they approach their work with clients, whether it's body work or home design. Leading with intuition first, Sara and Po guide their clients to pay attention to what feels good, rather than what the general rules are.

Also discussed are the principals of yin and yang energies as they relate to the mind body home connection.

Po-Hong Yu is a Spiritual Guide, Somatic Healer, Plant Medicine Facilitator, and Self Intimacy Teacher. She guides people in their process of awakening, healing, embodiment, and visibility. The foundation of her teachings are based in Taoism, energetics, and the practice of surrendering to the divine flow of life with consciousness and receptivity. Her experience as an acupuncturist brings a holistic approach to her work where she integrates the physical, emotional, mental, and energetic realms. She has offerings that range from group programs to medicine journeys to individual deep dives to VIP days. All of Po-Hong’s work is devoted to the remembrance of who we are and living from that place.

"Joy and sadness are on opposites of the spectrum, but they are both just energies. Could you just focus your attention on the energy of joy instead of arguing for your limitations that are of sadness?" - Wayne Dyer, There's a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem

When challenges come your way and it seems as though everything in your world is caving in on you, finding joy or happiness seems too far out of reach. But what if we looked at our challenges, and the sadness they create as neutral - neither "good" nor "bad"? What if it's just a matter of being diligent in what you choose to think or surround yourself with?

I sat down with Angela Gilman,  a professional storyboard artist, prop builder, scenic artist, and co-host of the “Let’s Design a Life of Joy” podcast. What Angela and her family thought was only going to be a temporary living situation, turned quickly at the onset of COVID. Like many, Angela and her family were left thinking - what now? Angela knew the only way to push through was to look for and cultivate more joy in her homes' surroundings. Angela was able to not only bounce back into her joyful state of being, but she also gives back through community and volunteering and shares ways in which we can all experience more joy in everyday moments through her podcast and social media content.
