Two years ago I read a book that changed everything in our marriage. I even got my non-book loving husband to read it and he was thoroughly shocked at how we were neglecting basic things in our marriage! Today we are chatting about what specifically prevents divorces and adultery in marriages based off studies done in this book. It's a good one! References below:

Today we are talking all about screen time! My journey with giving my kids screens has been up and down throughout the years and I’ve learned a lot since having my firstborn nearly 7 years ago. We are chatting about what made us want to cut out most all screens in our household, attention span, giving my children a love for literature with depth, and how we cut them out…plus how I’m transitioning to a flip phone this month! Money mindset has always been a household topic ever since I was nearly out of the womb in my family. From not coupon clipping (or recognizing it comes from a limited mindset during different seasons of life) to never looking to get "something for nothing", my dad engrained it into my mind that being wealthy was never not an option. Today I'm chatting about how we are instilling the same helpful values and principles into our kids minds and our strong thoughts on cultivating an abundant and healthy money mindset from day one. WOW this was an intense one! Today we are talking about submitting to your husband, our journey to faith, and what it has done for our marriage. If you are new to anything to do with the Christian faith, then the title alone will scare you (it did me!). The word submission has been twisted in today's modern world so much that it's taken on a whole new meaning, but when I started really digging into what the Bible has to say about marriage, my eyes were opened. So much so that when putting it into practice, our whole world started changing. My relationship with my husband has strengthened, my kids honor their father more, and I've learned my true calling as a wife and mother. No, that doesn't mean I'm a doormat! lol but what it does mean is that I honor and respect masculine and feminine roles more than ever and letting my husband lead has taken such a stress off me that was never supposed to be there in the first place. I decided to put the audio from my latest YouTube video into the podcast to update any listeners on my recent big life change. You might not notice a difference since I still upload content to social media, but it's really changed everything over the last two months in my life. Learning to step into the role that God has called me to with nearly four kids now has been eye opening, challenging, and truly the most fulfilling thing I've done. I still work during their quiet time, but growing brands and switching off time with my husband to work isn't where I want to take my future. I hope you get something from this one. Let me know!

Like many other first time moms, I had expectations and beliefs about what becoming a mom would look like. When I was pregnant with my first, I put labels on literally everything.
Co-sleeping? No way. Bottle feeding, yah right.
Then reality sets in..and you realize there is no linear path to motherhood. I no longer think one way is the best for every single situation.
In today's podcast I'm chatting with you about the 7 things that I've changed my mind on since becoming a mom. Seven is way too limiting…but I had to start somewhere.
I spent time reflecting on the past years of being a mom and it all came down to one thing, moms are just making the best decisions for their family based on their own experiences. Personally, I know I made decisions differently than I ever had and with much more confidence..

Anytime I see other mom's talk about what they don't let their kids do, I immediately click and have to know! So in today's podcast I wanted to talk about the 7 biggest things I do not let my kid's do (or at least try not to allow) and reasons why.
I knew for a fact that I wanted my kids to be exposed to different social settings, and also effectively communicate in a respectful way, starting at a young age. Today we'll discuss things like why I don't let anyone call my children shy, or them not being able to say the phrase "I'm bored" and (this may trigger some of you) no longer watching Disney movies. Although you may not agree with all of these parenting tips, I know, for me, it's super interesting to hear how other parent's think, even if it's not necessarily something I'd do so I hope you enjoy this episode too!

Alright...this one's a raw one. I was "formally" educated my entire life and up until last year, I didn't truly know if homeschoolers met up to the traditional stereotypes. I was 100% set on homeschooling though. The fact that I would be able to give my kids ample time to explore their interests, cut out all the busy memorization that they would inevitably toss and throw away for a "good grade" and let them be kids for a longer period of their upbringing, I was sold. BUT there was still that nagging voice in my head that kept saying...but are they right? Are most homeschoolers socially awkward? I knew for a fact that my kids weren't going to be that way simply because we as parents aren't, BUT were they going to be surrounded by those who lack communication skills? WOW was I sorely wrong and in this podcast I tell you why!
