He's spent 15 years inside global customer support and IT leadership — and on this episode, Mykel Salomon says the quiet part out loud: he doesn't actually know if AI replaces us completely. "Never say never."

Mykel hosts The Human Protocol Podcast, built on one uncomfortable question: what do we lose when we optimize everything? He's a self-described optimist on AI — but one with his eyes wide open. In this conversation, we push past the talking points and get into the real math nobody wants to run.

We talk about the factory owner who can replace 130 employees with six people and a small robotics investment — and whether he should. We talk about the AI arms race between the US and China, and why no company or government is going to slow down first even if they wanted to. We talk about the 95% failure rate on enterprise AI implementation, and why that failure almost always traces back to leadership, not the technology. And we get into universal basic income, and the moment Mykel — a guy who grew up under socialism — admits flatly: "the math isn't mathing."

This isn't a hype episode. It's not a doom episode either. It's a conversation between two guys who actually build with this stuff, trying to figure out what happens to the person whose job disappears in the next six months, and what they're supposed to do about it starting today.

In this episode:

  • Why "AI enhancing humans" and "AI replacing humans" aren't actually opposite outcomes
  • The real bottleneck in the 95% of AI projects that fail
  • What happens when a factory owner realizes he only needs six employees
  • Why neither the US nor China can afford to install real guardrails first
  • The honest, unresolved math behind universal basic income
  • Why the career ladder is gone — and what replaces it
  • How to use AI as a study partner without letting it flatter you
  • Building AI agents as a CFO, a CMO, or a full business team of one
  • What to do right now if you think your job won't exist in five years

About Mykel Salomon: Mykel Salomon has spent over a decade leading global customer support and technology teams across the United States, Europe, and Asia, most recently as Global Support Director at XAPT. He hosts The Human Protocol Podcast, exploring what it means to stay human while building the future — conversations with founders, operators, and leaders navigating AI adoption, organizational change, and personal reinvention without losing the human thread.

The Queen of New Age Movement | Doreen Virtue on The Jake Giffin Podcast

For over 30 years, Doreen Virtue helped build the modern New Age movement. Best-selling author published in 38 languages. Psychic to celebrities. Regular guest on Oprah, CNN, The View, and Coast to Coast. Ranked among the top 15 most influential spiritual teachers in the world. If you've heard of angel cards, angel numbers, manifestation, spirit guides, or energy healing — Doreen helped make those ideas mainstream.

Then, in 2017, she walked away from all of it.

In this episode, Doreen sits down with Jake Giffin to expose the New Age movement from the inside. Not as an outside critic — as the woman who helped build it. She explains what the New Age actually is at its core (control), how it twists Scripture to convince people they're "little gods," and why it specifically targets women who've been hurt by the church. She breaks down the real origins of reiki, why meditation apps can be a gateway into darkness, why yoga cannot be "redeemed" as a Christian practice, and how a seemingly innocent anxiety meditation led one woman all the way to becoming a satanic high priestess.

Doreen also shares her full testimony: how an Alistair Begg sermon on false teachers convicted her at 57 years old, the church-shopping journey that followed, the fallout of leaving a global New Age empire, the rumors New Agers spread to discredit her, and why — contrary to those rumors — she left the New Age broke and in debt. Plus: how to actually evangelize someone in the New Age (hint: start with peace), and why sharing the gospel is never wasted, even when it takes 20 years to bear fruit.

Whether you're a Christian trying to reach a New Age loved one, someone questioning tarot, crystals, manifestation, or witchcraft, or you're curious how New Age philosophy quietly permeated Western culture — this conversation is essential.

ABOUT DOREEN VIRTUE Doreen Virtue was the world's top-selling New Age author before God saved her in 2017. Raised in New Thought churches for 33 years, she later became a psychotherapist specializing in women's issues and a globally touring New Age teacher. After the Holy Spirit convicted her while reading Deuteronomy 18:10–12, she repented, renounced her former work, and earned a Master's degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Western Seminary (2021, highest honors). Today she exposes New Age deception, warns the church against spiritual counterfeits, and disciples women coming out of the New Age.

FAITHFUL AND WRONG — WHEN SEEKING GOD DOESN'T GO THE WAY YOU PLANNED The Jake Giffin Podcast | Feat. Paul Granger

Most men have a version of faith that operates on expectation. They seek God sincerely, show up, stay faithful, and quietly assume that faithfulness produces a specific outcome. When it doesn't, the options are narrow: blame yourself, blame God, or quietly revise what you claimed to believe.

Paul Granger has spent two decades in inner-city ministry in Richmond, Virginia — living on donated income, raising a family in one of the city's toughest neighborhoods, asking one question every single day: where did you see God? He doesn't ask it as a spiritual warm-up exercise. He asks it because the honest answer exposes whether you were actually looking — or whether you were looking for a very specific thing and calling that seeking.

In this segment, the conversation gets uncomfortable. Not because the ideas are fragile. Because Paul is willing to follow them into the territory where they actually get tested — where faithful people do everything right and the outcome looks nothing like what they expected God to produce.

Peter is the case study. Peter, who had a front-row seat to three years of miracles. Who saw nature obey. Who walked on water until he started thinking about it. Who pulled a sword in the garden because he was ready for a blaze of glory — and then denied Christ three times before sunrise because the actual unfolding of God's plan bore no resemblance to his theology. Peter's framework wasn't wrong because he was weak. It failed because he was still operating from a human metric of what faithfulness is supposed to look like.

Jesus didn't have a perfect track record. Not by our metrics. He entered public ministry and died surrounded by fewer followers than he started with. His inner circle scattered. His most vocal defender denied him publicly. By every measurable standard, the conclusion is failure. What Paul confronts in this conversation is the discomfort of sitting with that observation — and why most men immediately explain it away rather than let it do its work.

Because most men do explain it away. They build theology that insulates them from the gap between what they believe and what they observe. And when the gap gets too wide — when the situation refuses to resolve, when the wilderness year becomes two, when the door they prayed open stays closed — the theology doesn't hold. What they're left with isn't a crisis of circumstance. It's a crisis of identity.

Proverbs 3:5-6 doesn't say trust God until it gets hard. It says trust with all your heart, do not lean on your own understanding, and in all your ways submit to him. Comprehensive, not seasonal. The steelman argument here is not that faith is irrational. It's that much of what men call faith is a transactional expectation with God's name on it. When the transaction doesn't close on their timeline, they either perform a crisis or perform a recovery — and neither is what Paul Granger is actually describing.

What he's describing is releasing your grip on what God does with your faithfulness. Not just seeking God. Seeking God and then trusting the outcome entirely to him — including outcomes that look, by every external measure, like failure.

That discipline is harder than the seeking. And this conversation doesn't soften it.

This is Segment 2 of a three-part interview. Segment 3 is where the value transfers. If you haven't seen Segment 1, start there.

The Church Is Keeping Secrets from Men The Jake Giffin Podcast | ft. Mark Osborne

Most men sitting in church pews on Sunday morning have never been told the full truth. They've been given grace without repentance. Forgiveness without accountability. A God who loves them but never one they should fear. The result is a generation of Christian men who are spiritually passive, morally drifting, and quietly wondering why nothing in their lives reflects the faith they claim to hold.

This conversation changes that.

Jake Giffin sits down with Mark Osborne — founder and host of The Valiant Forge Podcast — for a direct, unfiltered conversation about what biblical manhood actually costs and what the modern church has been too afraid to say out loud. Mark has spent decades working with Christian men, and his framework is built on one conviction that comfort-culture Christianity keeps trying to bury: men are not built through ease. They are forged through pressure, adversity, and the kind of fear of God that produces real obedience — not just Sunday morning attendance.

This is not a motivational episode. It is a mirror.

WHAT THIS EPISODE COVERS

The conversation moves through six major areas that the modern church has either softened, ignored, or gotten completely backwards.

The Fear of God vs. the Love of Jesus — Mark draws a sharp line between two things men tend to conflate. You can love Jesus and still not fear God. He walks through John Bevere's work on the awe of God and unpacks why reverence without accountability is not reverence at all. A man who stops fearing God doesn't stop believing — he just stops obeying. The consequences of that gap are everywhere.

Grace Presumption — The cotton candy gospel has produced a generation of men who treat grace like a hall pass. Sin on Monday, confess on Sunday, repeat. Mark and Jake go after the theology behind that cycle and why repentance that doesn't include turning is not repentance at all. They reference Romans 6 and the Paul question directly: are we going to keep sinning so grace can abound? The answer has not changed.

The Discipleship Gap — Mark shares his own 40-year wilderness story. Saved at 14, never properly discipled, and left to wander through decades of casual Christianity until God forced a reckoning. He connects his story to the broader failure of the institutional church to do what it was actually commissioned to do — make disciples, not just converts. Jake connects it to his own Calvary Chapel background and the model of showing up to services without the depth of real brotherhood.

The Church Softness Problem — Both men take on the cultural feminization of church culture — not as a shot at women, but as an honest diagnosis of what happens when men stop leading. The result is a church that preaches to the least threatened instincts in the room. Comfort. Inclusion. Niceness. The men drift. The families follow.

Leading vs. Bossing — One of the sharpest segments of the conversation. Biblical headship does not mean control. A man who has to tell his wife to follow him has already lost the plot. Real leadership is directional — you know where you're going, you've counted the cost, and the people around you trust you because you've proven it. Mark is transparent about his own failures as a husband and the work it took to earn that trust back.

Get Up and Fight Back — The episode closes with a word to men who keep falling. Get back up. But at some point, getting back up is not enough. You have to start punching. Mark uses the boxing metaphor with precision — resilience without counterattack is just slow losing. The call is to stop tolerating the cycles and start fighting the actual enemy.

ABOUT THE GUEST — MARK OSBORNE

Mark Osborne is the founder and host of The Valiant Forge Podcast, a weekly show built specifically for Christian men who want to leave a legacy that lasts. Mark is a husband, father, and grandfather whose content is shaped by four decades of lived experience — including a 40-year wilderness season as a casual Christian that ended with a sharp divine course correction. His show is not built on biography. It is built on the forge — the conviction that scars become wisdom when a man is willing to be honest about them. What's Living in Your Blood? Stan Kurtz on the Patterns Western Medicine Won't Look For

Most people are told what they have. Stan Kurtz wants to show you what's actually in your blood — and the difference between those two things might be the conversation that changes your health forever.

Stan Kurtz is an independent researcher, inventor, and founder of Quantum Research & Development based in the Los Angeles area. He is not a doctor. He doesn't diagnose conditions, and he doesn't treat them. What he does — and has done for over 22 years — is look at blood under a microscope, identify patterns that correlate with poor health outcomes, and work to systematically clear those patterns using natural protocols, laser technology, and remedies that predate most of modern medicine. The results he documents are extraordinary. The approach is methodical. The logic is hard to dismiss.

Stan's entry into this work wasn't academic. It was personal. His son was diagnosed with early autism — a condition he was told was irreversible. Stan refused that conclusion. He became obsessed with the science, the data, the motives behind the science, and the patterns nobody else was measuring. After helping his son recover, he turned that same obsessive, evidence-driven attention toward thousands of other families. What began as a parent's refusal to accept a label became a 22-year body of work that includes invented supplements, custom laser technologies, live blood analysis protocols, EEG documentation, and documented recovery cases across a wide range of chronic conditions.

In this episode, Stan and Jake Giffin go deep on what live blood analysis actually reveals — including the spider-webbing structures Stan identifies in plasma, what they correlate with, and how removing them changes the way people feel. They talk about the difference between naming a disease and addressing what's actually in the body. They talk about what "science" actually means when you factor in the motives of who's funding the research. And they talk about why the most important tool in Stan's work isn't a laser, a remedy, or a microscope — it's the willingness to look at evidence without deciding what it has to say before you look.

This is not a wellness episode. This is a conversation about how someone who cares more about outcomes than credentials built a methodology that has helped people a broken system had already given up on.

Topics covered in this episode:

  • Live blood analysis and what spider-webbing in plasma actually indicates
  • Why Stan doesn't diagnose, treat, or use the word "treatment" — and what he does instead
  • The difference between naming a condition and addressing root cause
  • Why science is a language, not a verdict — and why understanding researcher motives changes how you read studies
  • How hydrogen therapy, red light, and custom laser frequencies are applied based on what the blood shows
  • EEG documentation of brain activity before and after protocols
  • A 76-year-old with an Alzheimer's diagnosis — and what her blood looked like four hours later
  • A 12-year-old cancer survivor whose blood, and face, changed completely in three days
  • Why Stan believes there are things in human blood that evolution never built a defense against — and what that implies
  • The role of parental motivation in research nobody else is willing to do

Rick Lynch: The Constitution Is Already Dead

What if everything you thought you knew about the U.S. Constitution was wrong? In this episode, Jake sits down with constitutional researcher and author Rick Lynch — veteran D.C. speechwriter and author of Money and Liberty — to unpack four things almost nobody knows about the founding document that still governs every American life.

Rick argues that the Bill of Rights didn't protect the Constitution — it destroyed it. The men who actually wrote the Constitution voted it down, called it dangerous, and had a completely different system in mind. That system has been buried for over two centuries, and in this conversation, Rick pulls it all the way to the surface.

What you'll hear in this episode:

  • Why the Framers unanimously rejected the Bill of Rights — and why that matters right now
  • The enumeration: the part of the Constitution nobody talks about but everyone should
  • How paper money and America's first welfare program triggered the entire Constitutional Convention
  • Why your property rights are mentioned 17x more often in the Federalist Papers than free speech, religion, and the press combined
  • The real purpose of checks and balances — and it's not what your civics class taught you
  • Why Rick says, plainly: the Constitution is dead

This one will rewire how you think about government, liberty, and the money they take from you every year.

What does it actually take to go from chaos to clarity… from survival mode to purpose?

In this episode, Roosevelt Sergeant breaks down the mindset, identity shift, and raw truth behind becoming what he calls a "Victorious Underdog." This isn't a polished, sanitized story. It's real—gritty, uncomfortable, and honest. From growing up surrounded by instability to finding direction through faith, Roosevelt walks through the internal transformation most people avoid.

This conversation goes beyond inspiration. It challenges the belief systems that keep people stuck. You'll hear the difference between being an underdog and being undisciplined, why most people never change their situation, and how exposure, proximity, and mindset determine your future.

We also get into:

  • Why a fixed mindset keeps you trapped
  • How a growth mindset is actually built (not just talked about)
  • The role of identity in long-term change
  • Why some people stay stuck while others break out
  • The reality of faith lived out in imperfect people

If you've ever felt like the odds were stacked against you—or you've been using that as an excuse—this episode will confront that directly.

This is not motivation. This is responsibility.

People Are Having Sex in Their Sleep… Here's Why

What sounds like a headline designed for shock value is actually a real, clinically documented sleep disorder.

In this episode, Dr. Ben Long breaks down the science behind parasomnias — a category of sleep disorders that includes sleepwalking, night terrors… and yes, sexsomnia.

But this conversation goes far beyond strange behaviors at night.

We dive into what sleep actually is, why your brain never truly "turns off," and how sleep deprivation begins to rewire your decision-making, emotional control, and long-term health.

You'll learn:

  • What's actually happening in the brain during sleep
  • Why you can wake up exhausted after 8 hours
  • The difference between real sleep and being "knocked out"
  • Why sleep medications don't fix the root problem
  • How sleep impacts memory, learning, and behavior
  • The connection between sleep, stress, and identity

In 2012, Terry Tucker was told he had two years to live. Fourteen years later, he's still fighting — and still winning.

Terry is a motivational speaker, author, former SWAT Team Hostage Negotiator, and one of the rarest cancer cases in medical history. He's had his foot and leg amputated, outlived every other patient in his clinical trial, been sent home 48 hours after above-the-knee amputation during COVID, and most recently underwent a groundbreaking TIL procedure that has begun eliminating his tumors entirely.

In this episode, Jake and Terry discuss what real resilience looks like stripped of all fluff — the Navy SEAL 40% rule, praying to die and choosing to keep going anyway, the nurse he unknowingly saved, Fred Rogers' four-word life philosophy, and why the only three things that truly matter are faith, family, and friends.

If you or someone you know is going through hell right now — this one's for you.

Paul Musson was a professional investor for 25 years managing over $10 billion in assets. Most of his time was spent with Mackenzie Investments in Toronto. Today, he runs his own investment consulting firm called Paddington Capital Management and he has a free weekly blog called Paulitical Economy which discusses things that are going on in the world but in very easy to understand terms: pauliticaleconomy.com.

His book, Capital Offence: Why Some Benefit at Your Expense was published in 2025 and is also available on Audible. The goal in writing the book was to educate people with respect to how an economy really works and thus empower people to demand positive change from our policymakers.

His hobbies/pastimes include birding, cycling and soccer. He is also a steam train enthusiast.

Paul is married and has three daughters. He has lived in the Toronto area since 1990.

After 30 years as a professional investor managing $10 billion in assets, I became frustrated watching policymakers repeatedly prop up asset prices at the expense of long-term economic health and fairness. So, I wrote Capital Offence: Why Some Benefit at Your Expense (also available on Audible), and run a free weekly blog called Paulitical Economy to help explain—in plain, jargon-free English—how money actually works, why wealth inequality is exploding, and why younger people are being priced out of housing. This is not a technical, academic deep-dive aimed at PhD economists or Wall Street quants. It's deliberately written for everyday people who've never studied economics but want to understand the system that shapes their lives. My goal is to democratise these ideas: no graphs, no Greek letters, just clear stories and examples that leave listeners empowered instead of angry or confused.

The hiring process has quietly changed. Most resumes are no longer read by humans first. They are filtered by algorithms, screening software, and automated systems designed to eliminate candidates before a hiring manager ever sees their name.

Which raises a serious question: if AI is deciding who gets an interview, how do you compete?

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake sits down with Abariechata, a developer and AI builder who created a platform designed to help job seekers navigate the new reality of algorithm-driven hiring.

After personally failing more than 100 job interviews, Abariechata began studying the mechanics behind modern recruiting systems. What he discovered was a system heavily influenced by automation, keyword filtering, and resume scoring models that determine who advances and who disappears.

Instead of fighting the system blindly, he built a tool that uses AI to strategically generate tailored resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation frameworks designed to align with the way modern hiring software evaluates candidates.

In this conversation, Jake and Abariechata explore:

• Why most resumes never reach a human being • How hiring algorithms evaluate applicants • The hidden math behind successful job applications • Why applying to more roles with tailored resumes dramatically improves outcomes • How AI can generate optimized resumes and cover letters in seconds • The STAR method for structuring powerful interview answers • Why the future job market will reward people who understand AI tools

This episode is not about fear of artificial intelligence.

It is about using the same tools that are reshaping the workforce to gain an advantage inside it.

If hiring systems are increasingly automated, the people who learn how to work with those systems will have a major edge over those who don't.

62 Robot Therapists: The AI Take Over of Therapy and Coaching Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the way we work, learn, and communicate. But what happens when AI enters one of the most human spaces of all… therapy?

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake sits down with Ali, the co-founder and CEO of AI Therapy, a digital mental health startup building an AI-powered cognitive behavioral therapy platform. The goal is simple but controversial: make mental health support accessible to anyone, instantly, through artificial intelligence.

The conversation explores one of the most important questions emerging in modern psychology and technology:

Can a machine help people understand their own mind?

Ali explains why his company chose Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as the foundation for AI-driven mental health tools, how structured therapeutic frameworks can work with algorithms, and why AI may serve as a bridge for people who would never normally seek therapy.

Jake, a coach with decades of experience using NLP and behavioral frameworks, challenges the idea head-on. Together they unpack the differences between therapy and coaching, the limits of AI empathy, and the ethical line between self-help technology and real clinical care.

You'll hear a fascinating discussion about:

• Whether AI will replace therapists and coaches • Why CBT works well with AI systems • The difference between therapy, coaching, and self-reflection • The stigma that keeps many people—especially men—from seeking help • How AI may serve as "training wheels" for mental health support • The ethical risks of monetizing mental health technology • Why therapy is less about advice and more about understanding yourself

Ali also shares a surprising insight discovered while building the platform: most users of AI therapy tools are not people already in therapy. They are people who have never spoken to anyone about their mental health before.

If AI can lower the barrier to starting that conversation, the impact could be enormous.

Whether you're excited about the future of artificial intelligence or skeptical about machines entering the world of psychology, this episode explores the promise and the limits of AI-driven mental health tools.

From Arrogant Operator to Servant Leader: The Leadership Shift That Built Billion-Dollar Teams What happens when a brilliant, driven operator realizes that talent alone isn't enough to lead people?

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake sits down with entrepreneur, executive, and leadership strategist Kurt Eller to explore the transformation that changed the trajectory of his career—and the companies he helped build.

Early in his career, Kurt was exactly the kind of leader many fast-growth companies celebrate: aggressive, confident, and relentlessly focused on results. But after scaling a company from $85 million to $1.44 billion in revenue and participating in multi-billion-dollar exits, he discovered something most executives learn too late.

Authority builds compliance. Servant leadership builds commitment.

This conversation digs deep into the realities of leadership inside rapidly growing companies—where ego, pressure, and high stakes collide.

Jake and Kurt explore:

• The leadership mistake that nearly cost Kurt his career • Why many successful executives struggle with people leadership • The difference between authoritative leadership and servant leadership • How transparency creates trust inside organizations • Why empathy alone can become toxic in leadership • The role curiosity plays in building high-performing teams • How leaders create cultures where employees actually want to win • The connection between faith, humility, and leadership growth

Kurt also shares hard-earned insights from working with companies across 100+ countries, participating in 80+ funding events and exits, and leading organizations through the chaos of hyper-growth.

If you lead people—or plan to—this episode will challenge the way you think about authority, responsibility, and influence.

Because real leadership isn't about control.

It's about developing people who can win without you in the room.

What if the biggest problems in America aren't failures… but features?

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake sits down with political thinker and libertarian voice Dan Behrman for a direct, unfiltered conversation about state power, sovereignty, and the uncomfortable questions most politicians avoid.

They tackle:

  • Why the War on Drugs may be creating the very crises it claims to fight
  • The pharmaceutical monopoly problem — and how regulation protects profits
  • The Epstein files and the question nobody can answer: why won't the government release everything?
  • The Federal Reserve and the hidden mechanics of inflation
  • Property rights, gun rights, and the slow expansion of federal authority
  • Whether "None of the Above" should be on every ballot
  • And what would actually happen if 90% of the federal government disappeared

This isn't left vs right.

It's a deeper question:

Are we still sovereign… or are we just managed?

Dan Behrman challenges sacred cows across the political spectrum — including conservative loyalty, federal overreach, and blind trust in institutions. Whether you agree with him or not, the conversation forces a sharper way of thinking about power.

If you care about liberty, constitutional limits, economic freedom, or simply understanding how modern government operates behind the curtain, this episode will stretch you.

Good Brain. Broken Body. Now What? What happens when the body breaks… but the mind doesn't?

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake sits down with Lubim Kogan — Winter Olympian, 9/11 survivor, former Wall Street professional, and founder of Wings for Heroes — to confront a question most people avoid:

What do you do when trauma rewrites your body but not your ambition?

Lubim survived 9/11 by accident. A missed bus saved his life. He later walked away from a career in finance, worked alongside leaders like Steve Forbes and Brian Tracy, and eventually found himself in Ukraine during wartime — helping rebuild organizations under collapse.

Now, through Wings for Heroes, he brings amputee veterans and first responders to Turkey for intensive rehabilitation, physical training, psychological support, and something unexpected: paragliding.

Because sometimes the fastest way to remember you're alive… is to step off a cliff.

This conversation explores:

  • What survivor's guilt really does to a man
  • Why many veteran charities miss the long-term problem
  • The invisible trauma of deafness and neurological injury
  • How structured community restores identity
  • Why fear can be therapeutic
  • And what it takes to rebuild purpose after catastrophic loss

This isn't a feel-good story. It's a responsibility story.

If you've ever wondered what happens after the uniform comes off… If you've ever felt stuck between strength and silence… If you've ever asked yourself, "Now what?"

This episode is for you.

About Lubim Kogan Lubim Kogan is a Winter Olympian, 9/11 survivor, international business executive, and founder of Wings for Heroes — a mission-driven public benefit corporation serving amputee veterans and first responders through intensive rehabilitation and community-based restoration programs in Turkey and the United States.

After decades in global finance and taxation, including co-authoring a national bestselling book alongside Steve Forbes, Lubim redirected his life toward rebuilding broken warriors — physically and psychologically.

What happens to a man sentenced to 80 years in prison for a single, irreversible mistake?

In this powerful episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Reginald Hicks shares his raw and unfiltered story—from a first-time offender receiving an 80-year sentence to serving 30 years inside one of the most violent prison systems in America.

At 19 years old, Reginald made a decision that changed everything. What followed were decades inside Texas prisons during the height of gang violence, racial segregation, and brutality. He describes living in a 6x9 cell for 23 hours a day, hearing screams through the night, watching men lose their identity—and nearly losing his own.

For 18 years, he lived without hope.

Then everything changed.

This conversation explores:

• What 30 years in prison does to a man • The psychological impact of hopelessness • The reality of Texas prisons in the 1990s • Why 70% of inmates return within 3 years • The shocking truth about reentry (including the $100 release reality) • How faith rewired identity and behavior • The difference between being disciplined and being delivered • Why prison ministry is directly connected to public safety • The 2% prison marriage survival rate—and how his survived • His vision to build transitional housing for men reentering society

Reginald now leads Brothers Keeper Prison Ministry, mentoring incarcerated men, strengthening families impacted by incarceration, and building a long-term solution for reintegration that goes beyond survival and focuses on transformation.

This episode is not about sentiment. It is about responsibility, identity, hope, and the hard truth about redemption.

If you care about criminal justice reform, prison ministry, second chances, faith-based rehabilitation, or the psychology of transformation, this conversation will challenge your assumptions.

About Reginald Hicks Reginald Hicks is the founder of Brothers Keeper Prison Ministry. Why are millions of Christians in Africa starving while the global Church sits on unprecedented wealth?

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake sits down with Roger Wheeler, co-founder of Shoulder to Shoulder, a Christian organization working directly with churches in Zambia to combat extreme hunger, malnutrition, and water scarcity. This isn't a conversation about abstract compassion or inspirational mission stories. It's about calories, protein, clean water, and the uncomfortable biblical reality of surplus and responsibility.

Zambia is one of the most food-insecure nations in the world, yet it is overwhelmingly Christian. Roger explains why hunger there isn't just an economic problem, but a theological one—and why the early Church's model of Christians feeding Christians may be the most faithful and effective response today. From corn distribution and well drilling to community farms and protein access, this episode exposes what actually works and why much of modern charity quietly fails.

The conversation goes deeper than Africa. It challenges American Christians to examine how wealth, comfort, and delayed obedience distort faith. Drawing from Scripture, Church history, and firsthand experience, Jake and Roger explore repentance, generosity, and the biblical standard of "works worthy of repentance."

If you've ever wondered:

  • Why Christian hunger exists in Africa
  • What the Bible actually says about wealth and the poor
  • Whether free food helps or hurts communities
  • How the early Church handled famine and poverty
  • Why generosity feels harder the wealthier we get

This episode will not let you stay neutral.

In Your Thoughts Eat First, Dr. Len Lopez joins Jake Giffin for a grounded, no-nonsense conversation about why most health, discipline, and spiritual failures don't start in the body. They start in the mind. Drawing from decades in chiropractic care, nutrition, and habit formation, Dr. Lopez explains his Five Steps system, a simple but confronting framework that tracks what you consistently feed your sleep, thoughts, body, movement, and spirit. This episode cuts through diet culture, shallow positivity, and outsourced responsibility, exposing how daily mental inputs quietly determine physical health, emotional stability, and long-term outcomes. If you've ever tried to "fix" your life without examining what you're rehearsing in your head every day, this conversation will feel uncomfortably clarifying.

Idols in Church Clothes exposes a problem most Christians assume ended with golden calves and stone statues. Idolatry didn't disappear. It evolved. In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake Giffin sits down with Jake Debernz to examine how modern Christianity often blends Jesus with cultural gods like nationalism, success, comfort, security, and moral superiority. These idols don't replace Christ outright. They stand beside Him, dressed in religious language, baptized with good intentions, and defended as "biblical."

This conversation challenges the idea that idolatry is only about secret sin or ancient rituals. Instead, it reveals how good things quietly become ultimate things and how fear, control, achievement, and certainty replace trust in God. Drawing from Scripture, church history, psychology, and lived experience, the episode addresses prosperity theology, performative holiness, social media-driven identity, and why the human heart continually manufactures substitutes for God.

If faith feels crowded, clarity feels distant, or Christianity starts resembling self-worship with Bible verses attached, this episode offers a hard but necessary diagnosis. Idols in Church Clothes isn't about outrage or deconstruction for its own sake. It's about honesty. And it forces one unavoidable question: when Jesus shares the room with our idols, who is actually being worshiped?

Jai shares his unfiltered journey from New Age spirituality, Eastern meditation practices, and occult experimentation into a grounded, Scripture-anchored Christian faith. This conversation dismantles the assumption that all spiritual experiences are from God and exposes how modern spirituality often prioritizes feelings, visions, and inner voices over discernment, repentance, and obedience.

Together, Jake and Jai explore spiritual warfare not as horror-movie possession, but as something far more common and dangerous: distorted thinking, misplaced authority, surrendering agency, and confusing peace with truth. They examine contemplative prayer, meditation, visualization, and altered states through both biblical theology and psychological insight, asking where Christians unknowingly cross lines they were never meant to cross.

This episode is essential listening for Christians wrestling with spiritual practices, former New Age seekers trying to recalibrate their faith, and anyone who senses that "feeling spiritual" isn't the same as being spiritually aligned. What happens when justice depends on who you are, not what you did? In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake sits down with Evan Turk, founder of the American Rights Alliance, to examine how the legal system is being weaponized through selective enforcement, narrative control, and political pressure. This conversation cuts through the slogans and asks an uncomfortable question: if the law is applied unevenly, is it still law or just leverage?

They discuss political prisoners, the erosion of free speech, media complicity, whistleblowers being punished instead of protected, and why questioning official narratives now carries real consequences. This isn't a left vs. right debate. It's a sober look at how power operates when accountability disappears and how silence becomes safer than truth. Whether you agree or not, the implications affect everyone living under the same system.

Guest: Evan Turk is the founder of the American Rights Alliance, a First Amendment–focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to defending civil liberties, supporting whistleblowers, advocating for criminal justice reform, and fighting selective prosecution. In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake Giffin sits down with Ahmard Vital for a direct, wide-ranging conversation on discipline, leadership, masculinity, faith, and the cost of becoming competent in a world that rewards comfort and excuses. This is not a motivational hype session. It's a grounded, intellectually honest discussion about how men are actually formed, where modern culture breaks them, and what builds strength when fear, emotion, and failure are unavoidable.

Ahmard Vital is a motivational consultant, international speaker, author, and performance coach known for helping athletes, young men, and leaders develop mental discipline and personal responsibility. With a background as a collegiate football recruiting analyst and years spent studying elite performers, Amard blends athletic mindset training, personal development, and faith-based leadership into practical frameworks that translate beyond sports. He is the author of Awaken the Baller Within, I Am More Than Enough, and Now What: 5 Steps to Get Up and Create the Most of Life, works that have been used in athletic programs, schools, and leadership settings across the country.

Throughout the episode, Jake and Amard explore why competition matters, why accountability outperforms affirmation, and why leadership is not optional for men. They unpack sports as a metaphor for life, the difference between emotional awareness and emotional slavery, and how discipline must exist before motivation shows up. The conversation also addresses cultural confusion around masculinity, responsibility, and authority, arguing that strength, boundaries, and sacrifice are not toxic traits but necessary ones when properly ordered and aimed.

Faith is not treated as a compartmentalized idea but as something that must integrate with real-world responsibility. Ahmard shares how Scripture, spiritual formation, and personal discipline converge in leadership, parenting, coaching, and community building, while Jake connects these insights to modern psychology, neuroscience, and his own coaching frameworks. The result is a conversation that respects intelligence, challenges assumptions, and replaces vague self-help language with clarity and structure.

This episode is for listeners who are tired of emotional fog, hollow motivation, and surface-level advice, and who want frameworks they can actually apply in work, family, and leadership. Expect candor, conviction, and ideas that demand responsibility rather than applause.

How Software Is Built in the Age of AI Most businesses still believe software has to be slow, expensive, and painful to build. That belief is outdated, and it's costing founders millions.

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake sits down with Dan Hafner, founder of Dapper No-Code, to break down how software is actually being built in the age of AI. They unpack why traditional development models are collapsing, what no-code and "vibe coding" get right (and dangerously wrong), and why speed of execution has become the only real competitive advantage left.

This conversation goes beyond surface-level AI hype. You'll hear:

  • Why most software projects burn cash before they ever reach market
  • The truth about no-code tools and where they break under real complexity
  • How AI is changing planning, design, and execution, not just coding

In a world of constant noise, speed, and distraction, many Christians read the Bible faithfully yet still feel disconnected from God. Why does Scripture feel informative but not transformative? Why do so many believers say, "I pray, but I don't hear God"?

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake sits down with Chaz Becker, co-founder of Storied, to explore the ancient Christian practice of Lectio Divina and its relevance for modern discipleship. Together, they examine the tension between biblical meditation and mysticism, doctrine and experience, neuroscience and spiritual formation.

This conversation tackles hard questions Christians are already asking:

  • Is Christian meditation biblical or dangerous?
  • How do we discern God's voice without drifting into self-made revelation?
  • Why speed, anxiety, and burnout are sabotaging spiritual depth
  • How Scripture was meant to be encountered, not consumed

This is not a rejection of theology or Bible study. It's a challenge to recover stillness, attentiveness, and intimacy with God without compromising truth.

If you've ever felt spiritually dry, overwhelmed, or unsure whether you're actually hearing God, this episode is for you.

Most people think the U.S. healthcare system is broken. It isn't.

It's operating exactly as designed.

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake sits down with Donovan Pyle, a former insurance insider turned whistleblower, to expose how employers, employees, and patients are quietly turned into inventory inside a massive sales funnel.

Donovan breaks down how hospitals built insurance companies, how brokers are incentivized to sell against your interests, why doctors only see a fraction of every healthcare dollar, and how "coverage" became an unlimited spending machine with no accountability. They unpack the medical loss ratio, vertical integration, pharmacy benefit managers, and why confusion is the most profitable feature in healthcare.

This is not a rant. It's a map.

If you're an employer, executive, or business owner paying for health benefits, this conversation explains why costs rise every year while care gets worse and what can actually be done about it without waiting on Washington.

Everyone Knows You're Faking It — And It's Costing You Most people don't fail because they lack talent, strategy, or resources. They fail because their identity is fractured — and everyone can feel it.

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Jake sits down with Deevo Tindall, founder of The Brand Storyteller and host of The Branding Laboratory, for a deep, unfiltered conversation about identity, authenticity, and why branding collapses when it's built on performance instead of truth.

Deevo walked away from 15 years in corporate America to help founders, leaders, and creatives stop hiding behind logos, buzzwords, and marketing tactics — and start telling the truth about who they are. Together, Jake and Deevo unpack why personal identity always bleeds into business, how unresolved beliefs sabotage leadership, and why companies like Boston Market didn't just fail the market — they failed themselves.

This conversation goes far beyond branding. It touches psychology, leadership, culture, trauma, personal responsibility, and why "being authentic" isn't a strategy — it's a requirement.

In this episode, you'll hear:

  • Why most branding problems are actually identity problems
  • How faking it creates burnout, mistrust, and business decay
  • Why culture is the real product every company sells
  • How personal trauma and belief systems quietly shape leadership
  • What happens when founders outgrow the identity they built their business on
  • Why customers always sense misalignment — even if they can't explain it

If you're a founder, entrepreneur, leader, coach, or creator who feels stuck, exposed, or disconnected from your own work — this episode will hit close to home.

Because if something feels off… it probably is.

The Ideas Destroying Modern Civilization | Apologetics, Morality, Identity & the Case for God Modern civilization isn't collapsing because of a single event. It's collapsing because of ideas.

In this full-length episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, host Jake Giffin sits down with Christian apologist and author Anil Kanda to examine the philosophical, psychological, and moral ideas quietly reshaping the modern world—and why so many of them are failing in real time.

This conversation is not a sermon and not a political rant. It's a deep, honest examination of worldview. We explore how concepts like moral relativism, Darwinian naturalism, secular humanism, and identity-as-accident have moved from academic theory into everyday life—and what happens when societies try to live as if those ideas are actually true.

For Christians, this episode offers language and clarity for things you already sense but may struggle to articulate: Why faith is not blind. Why morality needs an anchor. Why identity collapses when God is removed.

For atheists and skeptics, this episode asks hard questions without caricature: If morality is subjective, why are some things universally condemned? If humans are accidental products of biology, where does dignity come from? If truth is relative, why argue so passionately for justice?

Anil Kanda draws from Scripture, philosophy, psychology, and history—moving from the Book of Daniel and Genesis to modern cultural dysfunction—to show how worldviews shape behavior, institutions, and civilizations. Jake presses the implications further, connecting these ideas to modern identity crises, the breakdown of meaning, and why outrage has replaced wisdom.

This episode does not ask you to "believe harder." It asks you to think more honestly about the ideas you live by.

Whether you are a committed Christian, a questioning skeptic, or someone who simply feels that something is deeply wrong with the world but can't quite name it, this conversation will challenge you to examine the foundations beneath your beliefs.

Topics Covered * The ideas shaping modern civilization * Moral relativism vs objective truth * Atheism, Darwinism, and moral consistency * Why identity collapses without transcendence * The Image of God and human dignity * Why societies drift toward chaos without moral anchors * Apologetics, love, and intellectual honesty * Faith, reason, and the search for meaning

What do you do when your life collapses in slow motion? When your career, your health, and even your spouse are taken from you… and God doesn't intervene?

In this brutally honest episode, Laura Silverman walks us through a journey most people would never survive. A Stanford Law graduate and federal prosecutor, Laura was on the fast track—driven, brilliant, purpose-filled. Then, at 30 years old, a rare and still-undiagnosed neurological disorder struck without warning.

The world began to spin. Her body shut down. Her independence vanished. And for three years, she was fully bedridden.

Doctors threw out guesses but no answers. Treatments made her worse. Opinions shifted from "rare disease" to "maybe it's psychological," adding insult to devastation.

But the suffering didn't stop there.

In the middle of her illness, Laura met and married Matt, a man fighting his own battle with terminal intestinal cancer. Their love story is unreal—two people in the fire learning how to suffer together. Matt lived three years longer than doctors predicted, and his faith in the face of death shaped Laura in ways she's still uncovering.

This episode is not a sentimental Christian story. It is a theological gut punch.

Laura speaks openly about:

• Losing her legal career at the height of success • Fighting bitterness, anger, and spiritual confusion • Wrestling with God on a bedpan while the world spun around her • Watching her husband slowly die with joy on his face • Learning that God sometimes says "no" • The difference between prosperity thinking and biblical reality • Why suffering deepens theology in ways books never can • How her memoir, Singing Through Fire, became the redemption of her story • What it means to trust God when He gives you the opposite of what you prayed for

This is the theology of pain—not the sanitized version, but the one forged in hospital rooms, sleepless nights, vertigo, grief, and unanswered prayers. If you've suffered, are suffering, or love someone who is, Laura's wisdom will feel like someone finally telling the truth.

Suffering didn't destroy her faith. It refined it. And it will refine yours too.

Modern culture tells men to be soft, passive, harmless, and silent. Nico Lagan disagrees — violently.

In this explosive episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Nico Lagan lays out the hard truth about masculinity, faith, courage, danger, fatherlessness, feminism, and the collapse of Western culture. His message is simple:

A man who is not dangerous cannot protect. A man who cannot protect cannot lead. And a culture without strong men cannot survive.

Drawing from a life that includes addiction, drug dealing, Muay Thai championship fighting, sales engineering, political battles, and ultimately Christianity, Nico describes how becoming dangerous — mentally, physically, spiritually — saved his life and gave it purpose.

This episode covers:

🔥 Nico's transformation from coward to fighter Bullied as a kid, addicted as a teenager, and drifting without purpose, Nico found strength through discipline, lifting, and Muay Thai. He explains how stepping into the ring taught him fear management, emotional control, situational awareness, and the ability to stay calm in conflict — skills he uses today in political debates, hostile interviews, and content creation.

🔥 Why fatherlessness destroys boys — and cultures Nico and Jake talk bluntly about growing up without fathers, how boys learn manhood through imitation, and why women cannot teach boys to become men. The absence of masculine presence leads to emotional instability, identity confusion, poor impulse control, and cultural decay.

🔥 The masculinity war: feminism, weak men, and cultural hypocrisy Nico dismantles modern feminist talking points, exposes the hypocrisy of calling men "toxic" while depending on them for safety and infrastructure, and explains why society collapses when men are shamed for being masculine.

🔥 Why Christianity demands strong, courageous, dangerous men After more than a decade in Buddhism, Nico converted to Christianity because it calls men to self-sacrifice, courage, and truth — not self-focused "enlightenment." He argues that Christians must stop being lukewarm and rediscover the gritty, sacrificial, truth-telling masculinity of Jesus.

🔥 Conflict, debate, and public pressure: how fighting builds calm Jake and Nico break down why martial artists make better communicators, why cops lack de-escalation training, and why physical competence creates emotional stability.

🔥 Cultural collapse and the need for strong, dangerous, virtuous men If men stop being strong, nations decay. If men stop protecting, violence returns. If men stop leading, women and children suffer. Nico explains how to rebuild manhood through discipline, physical training, spiritual strength, truth-telling, and community leadership.

This episode is a war cry — a call for men to become dangerous on purpose so they can protect, provide, lead, and fight back against a culture determined to weaken them.

Most Christian men don't fall because of temptation. They fall because of comfort — the lie that says as long as your spiritual life is solid, your physical life doesn't matter.

In this powerful episode, Jake Giffin sits down with Sean McManus, faith-driven fitness coach and founder of McManus Strength & Nutrition, to expose the hidden epidemic inside the Church: men who are spiritually active but physically absent — leaders who pray for strength but never train for it.

Sean's message is simple and convicting:

"God gave you a body to steward, not to ignore. It's not either/or — it's both/and. Your spiritual life and your physical discipline were meant to walk together."

This isn't another "get fit" conversation. It's a wake-up call for Christian men to rise out of apathy, reclaim their masculine design, and lead their families from a place of spiritual power and physical vitality.

In This Episode: * The hidden programming of sons who grow up watching passive fathers. * How "nice-guy Christianity" neutered masculine leadership in the modern church. * Why serving everyone but yourself leads to burnout and moral collapse. * The moment Sean's mentor told him, "You matter — God made one of you because the world needed you." * Why self-discipline is a fruit of the Spirit — not toxic masculinity. * How lifting weights reprograms your mind to believe "I can do hard things." * The spiritual chemistry of strength: endorphins, confidence, and divine order. * The truth about "soft men, softer sons" — and how to reverse generational weakness. * The connection between nutrition, mental clarity, and hearing from God. * Why physical stewardship is worship, not vanity.

Key Takeaways ✅ Your son will model the man you are — not the man you preach about. ✅ Discipline isn't punishment; it's preparation for purpose. ✅ Stewardship of the body reveals stewardship of the soul. ✅ Men who take care of themselves lead stronger marriages, families, and ministries. ✅ You can't serve from an empty cup — God calls you to refill it through obedience, order, and self-control.

About Sean McManus Sean McManus is the founder of McManus Strength & Nutrition — a coaching movement helping high-achieving Christian men lose 10–30 pounds in 12 weeks or less while becoming stronger leaders in their homes, businesses, and faith. He's spent years developing faith-aligned training methods that fuse physical strength, spiritual discipline, and masculine leadership into one mission: to rebuild the modern Christian man.

In this powerful episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Dr. Mark Teague exposes one of the most uncomfortable truths in modern Christianity: the Church has turned salvation into a business model.

From megachurch stages to ministry marketing departments, the American Church has traded conviction for comfort, purpose for profit, and truth for transaction. Dr. Teague — a former executive for American Express, Toyota, and Lexus Financial, and author of A Working Man's Guide: Strong Values, Strong Life, Strong Legacy — joins Jake Giffin to reveal how money, materialism, and debt have corrupted the modern pulpit and suffocated the soul of the Church.

This isn't a conversation about prosperity — it's a confrontation with the idols of our time.

💥 In This Episode: * The Prosperity Gospel Lie — how Americanized faith turned God into a business plan. * Debt-Free Faith — why Dr. Teague says pastors should avoid debt at all costs. * You Can't Serve God and Mammon — the hard truth about divided loyalties. * The Price of Fame — why chasing influence destroys integrity. * When the Church Becomes a Brand — how marketing replaced ministry. * The Hidden Bondage of Debt — how financial pressure changes sermons, priorities, and even theology. * Faith as Stewardship — why money is a tool, not a master. * Financial Wisdom for Churches — the principles every pastor should follow before signing a lease or expanding. * The Battle Within — how the same greed that ruins businesses is corrupting hearts in ministry.

🧠 Dr. Teague's Message: "Most churches change the moment they sign their mortgage. They go from worshiping God to serving the budget."

Dr. Mark Teague brings decades of experience in economics, corporate leadership, and faith-based ethics to the table. He's not just calling out the problem — he's showing the way back. A way that begins with principles over preferences, truth over emotion, and stewardship over spectacle.

This episode will challenge pastors, business leaders, and believers alike to confront the question: 👉 "Who is your master — God, or the money you're afraid to lose?"

The Secrets of Reading a Room — Lessons from a 1,000-Mission Combat Spy | The Jake Giffin Podcast What if you could walk into any room—business meeting, negotiation, or conflict—and instantly read what's really happening? Today's guest, Pete A. Turner, doesn't just imagine that skill—he lived it.

Pete is a former Army combat spy, a counterintelligence officer who ran over 1,000 real-world missions in war zones across Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. His job wasn't to fight—it was to think. To observe, connect, and uncover truth in environments where one wrong read could cost lives.

In this conversation, Pete pulls back the curtain on the art of reading people, building trust, and finding ground truth in a world drowning in deception. Whether you're leading a team, selling a product, or navigating everyday relationships, the same human principles apply—and Pete teaches them with brutal clarity and surprising humor.

🔥 What You'll Learn in This Episode * How to see what others miss — The invisible cues that reveal emotion, intent, and deception. * The secret to instant trust — How a combat spy earns credibility in hostile territory. * Ground truth vs. perception — Why your instincts lie and how to recalibrate them. * Situational awareness 2.0 — Going beyond "never sit with your back to the door." * Cultural adaptability — How to move through any environment without friction. * Rapport that matters — How to connect authentically instead of people-pleasing. * The power of micro-connection — Why one text, handshake, or handwritten note can change everything. * How to stay calm under pressure — The psychology of composure when things go wrong. * Turning empathy into strategy — How emotional intelligence becomes a tactical advantage. * From spycraft to real life — How to use military-grade awareness in business, leadership, and relationships.

💬 Key Quotes from Pete A. Turner "If I can build trust with a warlord, you can build trust with your boss." "Ground truth is never on the surface—it's buried under comfort, fear, and ego." "The fastest way to influence someone is to let them be great." "You can't fake connection—you have to risk something real to earn it."

🧠 Why This Episode Matters Most people see but don't observe. They listen but don't hear. Pete A. Turner has spent decades mastering what most of us overlook—the subtle details that reveal character, danger, and opportunity. His mission-based lessons translate into everyday power: how to lead, how to listen, and how to create influence without manipulation.

This episode is part spy story, part human-behavior masterclass. It's for anyone who wants to operate with greater awareness, sharper instincts, and deeper authenticity.

Mel Duncan isn’t just another worship leader with a guitar. He’s lived through the highs and lows of church leadership, studied under John MacArthur, runs a family business in Ventura and Santa Barbara, and wrestled with what it really means to follow Christ in a culture that’s losing its mind.

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Mel gets brutally honest about church leadership failures, cultural compromise, and what the shocking death of Charlie Kirk reveals about America’s soul. Together, Jake and Mel dive into discipleship, politics, evolution, AI, pornography, insecurity, and the cost of standing for truth in 2025.

This is not a “safe” church conversation. It’s a wake-up call.

🔥 What You’ll Hear in This Episode: * Charlie Kirk’s Death & Cultural Fallout — why it matters more than mainstream media admits. * The Simplicity of the Gospel — stop chasing debates, start making disciples. * Worship Leader to Critic — how church politics, weak leadership, and hypocrisy nearly broke Mel’s faith. * Personal Struggles — pornography, insecurity, and finding identity in Christ again. * Faith vs. Politics — why Christians must stop hiding behind the myth of “neutrality.” * AI, Darwinism, and Truth — why only a Biblical worldview can withstand cultural collapse. * A Warning to the Church — Mel’s message to believers who are tired of compromise.

✝️ The Core Message: If Christians don’t return to their true identity in Christ, culture will define it for them. Mel calls out lukewarm faith, empty religion, and a church too afraid to offend. The solution is simple, but costly: die to yourself, live sacrificially, and make disciples.

From the battlefield to the barstool, from combat deployments to rock bottom, Ryan Reichert has lived it all. A 23-year Army Ranger with four Middle East deployments, Ryan’s story isn’t about medals and missions—it’s about the invisible war that followed him home. PTSD, addiction, adultery, divorce, and the crushing weight of failure nearly ended everything.

But 20 months ago, in a single night of brutal honesty, Ryan’s life turned around. He put down the bottle, faced his demons, and discovered that true freedom comes not from control, but from surrender. Today, Ryan is a coach, author, and founder of Our Protector Development, building men through discipline, faith, and unflinching accountability.

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Ryan and Jake go deep:

  • What combat taught him about spiritual warfare.
  • How PTSD shaped his nights, fears, and rituals.
  • Why sobriety began the same night he committed adultery.
  • The daily wins and spiritual practices that keep him alive today.
  • How pain, failure, and brutal honesty became his weapons of growth.

This is not a sanitized “success story.” It’s raw. It’s real. And it’s proof that redemption is possible when you stop hiding, stop lying, and surrender everything.

They Tried to Kill Me in South Africa — God Wouldn't Let Them | The Jake Giffin Podcast

What happens when you stare into the eyes of pure evil, blood running down your face, four men trying to smash your head in—and you realize, “If I die tonight, my soul is going to hell”?

That’s not the opening of a thriller novel. That’s the real story of Johnathan McLernon, a nanotechnology researcher turned Navy engineer, world traveler, and now National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach. His journey has taken him from the edge of death in South Africa, through betrayal by his closest friend and business partner, to battling binge eating addiction and depression that left him at 328 pounds.

Today, Johnathan is a coach, author, and addictions recovery specialist helping men and women overcome food addictions, break free from destructive habits, and reclaim their bodies, minds, and missions. And he does it through a brutally honest mix of neuroscience, psychology, and biblical truth.

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, we go all in on:

  • The Night in South Africa – when four men armed with machetes and shovels tried to kill Johnathan while he and his wife were serving at a youth camp. The terrifying hours that followed, the moment he thought he was destined for hell, and how God used that night as a wake-up call.
  • From Trauma to Food Addiction – how PTSD and unresolved emotional pain turned into binge eating, dissociation, and a climb to 328 pounds—and why food can be as destructive an addiction as alcohol, drugs, or porn.
  • Caramel Popcorn Christianity – Johnathan’s phrase for the sweet, fluffy, substance-free version of Christianity plaguing modern churches. Why men are starving for truth, not comfort.
  • The Betrayal That Left Him With Nothing – how his “Christian” business partner stole his identity, left him with mountains of debt, and why this crushing failure was actually the setup for his new calling.
  • The Science of Addiction and Change – from classical conditioning and neuroscience to biblical psychology, Johnathan explains how triggers, reward systems, and habits form, and how men can reprogram their flesh by setting their minds on the Spirit.
  • Marriage, Sex, and Discipline – why he texts his wife instead of giving in to lust, how he reframed intimacy after 20 years of marriage, and what it takes for men to channel desire into strength instead of weakness.
  • Strength, Fatherhood, and Mission – how a 43-year-old dad with a 2-year-old and 4-year-old stays mission-ready, lifts heavy, and refuses to let addiction or weakness define his legacy.

This is not a feel-good, surface-level conversation. This is raw. It’s messy. It’s real. And it’s exactly the kind of story men need to hear if they’re serious about breaking free from addictions, forgiving the unforgivable, and walking in the strength God designed them for.

Whether you’ve struggled with:

  • Food addiction or binge eating
  • Pornography and lust
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Self-hatred or imposter syndrome
  • The emptiness of “caramel popcorn Christianity”

…this conversation will hit home.

Because Johnathan doesn’t just tell his story—he exposes the systems of the flesh, the lies of modern culture, and the traps that keep men weak. Then he shows how the Spirit, the Word of God, and real psychological tools can break those chains for good.

Christian dating has a reputation: awkward coffee dates, cheesy pickup lines wrapped in Bible verses, and a whole lot of guys saying, “Let me pray about it.” But beneath the jokes lies something deadly serious: purity, self-control, and whether men are actually ready to step into marriage.

In this raw conversation, Jake Giffin sits down with Gio Arganaraz , a husband, father, and man who walked through the awkward phases, carried the weight of being a single dad, and came out the other side with a godly marriage. Together, they unpack:

  • Why so many Christian men delay dating until it’s too late
  • The uncomfortable truth about lust, purity, and baggage in marriage
  • How to actually spot a godly wife (and why most men miss it)
  • The role of the church in raising up young men who can lead
  • Real stories about awkward first dates, step-parenting, and marriage adjustments
  • Why self-control is the first test before God will ever entrust you with a wife

This isn’t the sanitized version of Christian dating you’ve heard in church. It’s messy, hilarious, and painfully honest. If you’ve ever wondered why Christian dating feels like a joke and what it takes to actually win at it this episode will hit you right between the eyes.

What happens when Christians stop asking Hollywood for permission to tell their own stories?

Craig Dehut, co-founder and CEO of Appian Media, did exactly that. After years in corporate video and tech at 12 Stars Media and Hitcents, Craig pivoted to biblical documentaries—traveling through Israel, Egypt, Turkey, and Jordan to capture the gospel on film.

In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, Craig shares the gritty, behind-the-scenes journey of creating world-class Christian documentaries without Hollywood’s backing:

✅ Why most Christian films fail—and how he’s raising the bar. ✅ How crowdfunding and donors fuel projects like Following the Messiah and Out of Egypt. ✅ The insane logistics: 7 months of planning, 18 days of shooting, and 12 months of editing. ✅ The responsibility of telling Jesus’ story accurately—and the weight of getting it wrong. ✅ Lessons from suffering, freelancing, and chasing passion over comfort. ✅ Why Christians must take ownership of storytelling in the digital age.

Craig’s work includes:

  • Following the Messiah
  • Searching for a King
  • Trial & Triumph: Revelation’s Churches
  • Out of Egypt
  • Lessons from the Land (children’s series)

This isn’t just about filmmaking—it’s about courage, conviction, and creating work that outlives you. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, creative, or believer, Craig’s story will challenge you to stop waiting for someone else’s permission and start building.

When you picture leadership, you probably imagine CEOs in sleek boardrooms, armed with strategy decks and quarterly goals. But what if the most transformative leadership lessons don’t come from Wall Street or Silicon Valley at all, what if they come from the pulpit? In this episode of The Jake Giffin Podcast, I sit down with Pastor Bobby Blakey of Compass Bible Church Huntington Beach to explore the surprising overlap between pulpit leadership and boardroom leadership.

Bobby has spent decades discipling men, planting churches, and guiding communities through turbulent seasons, including COVID-19. He’s seen what breaks leaders, what builds them, and what keeps them going when the pressure mounts. This conversation goes deeper than management tactics. We explore why character, honesty, and transparency are non-negotiable for true leadership, and why the best leaders are more concerned with being the right kind of person than getting the right position.

🔑 What You’ll Learn in This Episode Why the greatest leadership lessons aren’t taught in seminary or business school How 1 Timothy 3 defines leaders by character, not credentials Why being a pastor (or CEO) is less about a title and more about relationships The difference between chasing a stage and caring for people The danger of leadership as performance vs. leadership as authenticity Why many leaders burn out without genuine community and fellowship How Bobby navigated the COVID-19 crisis and stayed rooted in Scripture despite criticism The critical difference between making decisions and standing on biblical principles Why deacons, elders, and teams are essential for sustainable leadership How suffering and setbacks can refine leaders rather than destroy them

🚀 Why This Episode Matters Most leadership podcasts recycle the same corporate playbooks: vision statements, KPI metrics, productivity hacks. But Bobby Blakey exposes a deeper reality: leadership is about maturity, sacrifice, and building people. Whether you’re running a startup, leading a church, managing a team, or raising a family, these lessons are for you. You’ll see how leaders from the pulpit embody the same qualities every great business leader needs: communication, empathy, conviction, and resilience. By the end of this episode, you’ll understand why the boardroom can learn from the pulpit, and why the future of leadership belongs to those who combine character with competence, humility with strategy, and truth with courage.

🎯 Who Should Watch This Video Business leaders tired of recycled corporate advice Pastors and ministry leaders navigating leadership challenges Young leaders who want to avoid burnout and disillusionment Entrepreneurs seeking a purpose-driven leadership model Anyone who wants to grow in character-based leadership leadership lessons from the pulpit, pulpit vs boardroom leadership, faith-based leadership, spiritual leadership principles, leadership lessons for business, purpose-driven leadership, building communities through leadership, pastors as leaders, leadership communication skills, ethical leadership, transformational leadership, business lessons from church, what makes a great leader, empathy in leadership, vision and purpose in leadership Stay Connected Follow Jake Giffin for bold conversations at the intersection of faith, leadership, and psychology. What does it take to be a real leader in today’s world of corporate chaos, soft management, and AI disruption?

In this episode, Jake Giffin sits down with Yogi Mueller leadership expert, speaker, comedian, and author of The Great Slapping Book, to talk about the brutal truths of leadership, mentorship, and grit. From his early years in Disney hospitality to teaching classrooms, building talent development programs, and launching Craft Leadership, Yogi has seen it all. And he’s here to give leaders, entrepreneurs, and executives the proverbial slap in the face they need to stop pretending and start leading.

Yogi’s journey is anything but ordinary. He went from performing comedy songs on the Dr. Demento Show, to managing Disney attractions, to training and mentoring future leaders across industries. Along the way, he discovered that leadership isn’t about titles, perks, or spreadsheets, it’s about grit, accountability, and putting people first.

In this conversation, you’ll learn: * Why every great leader was once broken, and how failure transforms real leadership. * The “Sandpaper Analogy” and why leaders need to get roughed up before they can shine. * How Yogi developed the GRIT Mindset Framework: Get over yourself, Reassess with honesty, Invest in improvement, Treasure the lessons. * Why mentorship matters more than AI in the future of leadership development. * The harsh reality of new leader syndrome, and how not to lose touch with your team when you get promoted. * The brutal truth behind employee entitlement, corporate layoffs, and why the workforce vs. leadership battle is accelerating automation. * How to survive leadership roles at companies like Disney, where the “happiest place on earth” isn’t always so happy behind the scenes.

[00:00:00] Introduction and Guest Welcome

Speaker: Welcome to the Jake G.

Jake: you, how do you pronounce your last name?

Manuj: Agarwal.

Jake: Agarwal. Okay. That's, I could have probably guess I, I guess pretty good at your first name. And so I, I, I didn't want to, I didn't wanna, you know. Oh

Speaker 3: no,

Jake: I didn't want to gamble too hard. I don't know how to, but you are, man. You are a fascinating guy. I ran into you and I, and I read some of your stuff.

I find it fascinating. So many folks come here from India, middle East and they just, and they dominate man.

You've done so well in your career.

[00:00:36] Journey to North America

Jake: How long have you been in the States now?

Manuj: Well, I'm actually in Canada, which is, you

Jake: know Oh, okay. In Canada.

Manuj: Funny enough, I knew that, but

Jake: I, I knew that I was testing you 50.

Manuj: Yeah, 51st state now. So, but anyway I've been here since 1998, so that's like 27 years now.

Jake: Okay. How, what was the reason for leaving India,

Manuj: As [00:01:00] you do follow a girl, you know?

Um,

Jake: just like that, huh? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Did you end up marrying? Yeah. Most,

Manuj: yes. I was married I was married for, uh, 25 years.

Jake: Okay.

Manuj: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So we had a good run, yeah,

Jake: yeah. As they do.

Manuj: Yeah. 25 years, uh, is pretty, pretty decent these days.

Jake: Yeah. I read somewhere. Was it in, was it when you were.

[00:01:30] Early Career in Technology

Jake: When you were in India or when you got to Canada, where you read the book on technology or, or coding?

Manuj: Oh, I, I actually got into software and technology back in India. And that's how sort of my life started shifting. So this was 1996 around that time and computers were so new we didn't have an internet.

Uh, are we, are we now recording now or yeah. We're

Jake: going.

Manuj: Yeah. So what happened was, uh, you know, I was trying to figure out what to do with my life. I [00:02:00] wanted to get out of that small town and like experience life. Mm-hmm. And, um, computers were very new Internet. We didn't have internet in mar in our small town.

So we had like these sloppy discs. We used to write programs and then. Copy it on the floppy disk and then take the floppy disk to another computer, copy it there. And so that's how it used to work. There was so much fun that I said, okay, you know, this is, uh, something that I enjoy because I'm an ex, I'm an introvert.

And, um, being an introvert I, uh. Didn't like talking to people. So talking to machines is like, okay, you know, you give them a command, they obey you, they do exactly what you ask them to use. Yeah,

Speaker 3: yeah. And

Manuj: then and then you get to do it again because you just need to copy that code, uh, over.

And so that was my journey, and I got deeper and deeper and deeper into it. So here we are.

[00:02:52] Founding Tetra Noodle Technologies

Jake: Here we are Now you're the, now you're the Chief Innovation Officer at Terra Noodle Technologies. Yeah. Now you, you founded that company. [00:03:00] Yes. Tetra Noodle. Yeah, that's right. Tetra Noodle. What are you guys doing over there?

[00:03:05] The Depth of AI

Manuj: So, uh, you know, everybody wants, uh, to adopt ai. Everybody's talking about ai, but most people don't understand this AI thing is a miles deep ocean. Okay. Thousands of miles of ocean, and people are just like, sort of, you know, scratching the surface. Okay. You know, I wrote my social media. Post with it.

I wrote a, you know, a nice, uh, business plan with it. Nice, uh, email with it, but that's just scratching the surface. Imagine finding solutions to your life problems. Imagine finding, you know, uh, uh, ways to create generational wealth. Connect with your teenagers, uh, you know, finding cure to cancer. So these are some big challenges that can be solved easily with, um.

With, um, ai. Not only that, but actually a lot of these things are already underway, so mm-hmm.

Speaker 3: The

[00:03:58] Future of Work and AI's Impact

Manuj: big question becomes in five, 10 [00:04:00] years, you know, not to scare anybody, but there's gonna be a, there's gonna be a huge change in our, uh, society. Yeah, that's a fact. Yeah. There's gonna be like, uh, some unemployment, some short term pain.

So if you ask anybody. Anybody you meet today, you know, say who. Okay, tell me, uh, introduce yourself, who you are. The first or second sentence will be, okay. I'm, you know, a chief innovation officer. I'm, I'm deputy manager, I'm blah, blah, blah. Like, my identity is tied to the work that I do. My purpose in life is to, you know, like my, it's tied to my profession.

Yeah. That's how society is today. But imagine if 80% of the people, if 80% of the work is done by.

[00:04:44] Human Identity in an AI-Driven World

Manuj: Robots and ai, what identity will you have?

What purpose will you have in life?

Jake: Yeah.

Manuj: So these are big questions that we work on. How to, uh, help people find their true [00:05:00] identity, find their true purpose, find more creativity, more expression in their life as automation will take over the entire world.

Jake: So you're doing, you're doing that at Tetra Noodle to help. So while you're working on ai, while you're doing all these and your AI or what you're working on now are projects that are going to help people recalibrate a bit to this new society that's coming. 'cause it is gonna be revolutionary, right?

It's not, we don't even know the, we don't even know the magnitude of the impact it's gonna have. We just know it's gonna be, you know? Yeah, exactly. Yeah. We just know it's gonna be crazy. And Yeah, exactly. And so you're building, you're building stuff that's going to help, let's say a guy like me go, okay, now that you're not an entrepreneur anymore because all the robots have taken over, who are you really?

Yeah. So the ai, not only that,

Manuj: but entrepreneurship is actually not going to go away. Entrepreneurship is actually going to become the mainstream profession.

Speaker 3: Mm-hmm. But [00:06:00] now

[00:06:00] Bridging the Gap to the Future

Manuj: Think, okay, so let me give you a simple example, right? Like, uh, think about, primitive human beings, they saw, oh, there's another piece of land across the ocean.

Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.

Manuj: And probably there's more food there. More animals. How do I go there and find more opportunities?

Speaker 3: Okay. And you

Manuj: need a bridge. You need to build a boat. You need to figure out how to cross this ocean, right? So you need to, you need to work with somebody who has, who knows, swimming. Who probably has some knowledge of deep diving, some knowledge of how boats work or so, something along those lines.

And if you go to an advanced level, how to build bridges and all of that. So that's what we are doing. We are creating these bridges for anybody like you. And you say, okay, this is my business today. And I can tell you, but just by looking at your business. Okay. What it, what will it be like in five years, in 10 years?

And then build a ramp. Build a a plan. Build a a bridge. Okay. [00:07:00]

Jake: From here where you

Manuj: are today. To five years, 10 years and whatnot.

Jake: Yeah. Are you projecting out, I mean, are you, you, are you able to project out beyond five years with technology? What, what's gonna happen? Nothing. You

Manuj: know, nothing, nothing can be projected out, you know?

Yeah. As humans statistics, all of this can be like, you can mold them in the way that you want to mold them, but nobody truly knows what the future holds. But all you can do is I can rely on my 30 years of experience.

Speaker 3: I

Manuj: can rely on my experience of business about HU and my knowledge of human beings, my knowledge of how these algorithms work.

What will the world, uh, look like and just make a better decision than most people can. Yeah. So, yeah.

Jake: Well, and you have, uh. When you look at the history of mankind and you have, you know, a lot of things we've always adapted, right? It's like you said, we have to get across the ocean. How do you get across the ocean?

You know, you might observe a [00:08:00] leaf that is floating on the water and you go, oh, how can we float on the water? You know, how can we navigate and like, necessity is the mother of invention, right? But Correct, correct. Exactly. But these guys have, you know, when, when time is running slow? They have a long time to carve out a tree, test it on the water, figure out buoyancy science or whatever they're doing right to get across the water and then explore.

They have a generation or two that they can do that. The way that we're facing the future right now is that those changes are, boom, are just gonna, they're, they're happening like my gen. My mom or my grandparents worked at the same place for 40 years. They worked in factories or they, they had the same career.

The generation now is changing careers five or six times in let's say gen, gen X and other places, gen, you know, other [00:09:00] generations, millennials. Moving into the future, moving into the future, it's when AI has everything change is gonna happen, like. Yeah.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Jake: Lightning fast. Is that, is that what we're kind of anticipating coming and how to help

Manuj: people?

Yes and no because I believe this is my personal opinion, uh, we change careers because we don't know exactly what we want in life, and we notice other people having more fun, having more money, having more success, whatever we desire. And then we say, oh, you know what, like, I'm bored doing this thing, so let me try something else now.

Okay. And moving forward, our work, my work specifically, involves not just doing this hidden trial because hidden trial needed was needed when, you know, we, we, uh, we didn't know exactly what we wanted. We didn't know how to get there. But now imagine, within one or two [00:10:00] hours, you know exactly why you are here on this planet.

Yeah. What is your life purpose? You know, why are you, why are you. Going through life, uh, what, what made you appear on this planet. And then once you have that purpose, every decision you make, every decision for partnership, for you know, building a business, for investing your money where to earn money, how to earn money, who is gonna help you, all of this.

Yeah. AI can, can truly help you like a guide as a personal friend. And mentor or whatever you want to call it. Yeah,

Jake: sure. E

Manuj: every decision is made towards that goal. Okay. Imagine how powerful that will be because now you are not second guessing life at every moment, every day you wake up it's like, I don't know, what the hell am I doing?

It's like, okay, now exactly. I know what I'm doing and this is how I'm going to get it done.

Speaker 3: Mm-hmm. And

Manuj: this is where technology is helping me. And you know, you, you do this day in, day out. [00:11:00] You truly find fulfillment in life. You know? That's the whole idea.

Jake: Yeah. And you have, so it's like a, you're gonna have this pers this super powerful personal assistant.

That can help you navigate some of the most complex things that you can possibly navigate. And I, I always tell the young, young guys that listen to this podcast, I go, look, you guys should be the most intelligent people that's ever walked the planet. You have, you have information at your fingertips.

There's nothing you can't learn how to do, right? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. With ai, though, we're gonna kind of subcontract that out. Mm-hmm. And then they're gonna give us, let's say, a step by step, or they're gonna give us guidance. It's gonna say, here's what to do. Uh,

Manuj: le less so, because I think what we will as humans AI cannot do is observe the world and understand what other humans need.

Okay? Because if, if you see, if you see any science fiction or Star Trek, star, uh, you know, whatever, star Wars, anything, [00:12:00] all the work is done by machines. But the humans are observing the world and saying, okay, you know what? Like this is, these are the levers. We need to pull these. These are the moves we need to make.

Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.

Manuj: This is what other humans want. That's what an entrepreneurship and business is all about to understand what other people want. And that AI cannot do.

Jake: Yeah,

Manuj: not yet. Never.

[00:12:23] Human Emotions vs. AI Capabilities

Manuj: It'll never be able to do because the thing is desire, emotion, creativity, jealousy. These are deep emotions that are.

Innately human. And there is no algorithm that can create emotions. There is nothing like that.

Jake: Fair enough. But when you imagine a world that has that is, let's say you have this technological singularity of sorts where you have AI and you have quantum computing. I mean, if you had, let's say a quantum computer that was running, I don't know, a million qubits or something.

Which is [00:13:00] still, probably, still way far off. Mm-hmm. Does it need emotion to realize that you don't have a reason to be here?

Manuj: Um, here is the thing like, so I obviously have, uh, three decades of experience in technology. Yeah. AI and that, but also I have a very deep meditation practice, so I understand consciousness.

At a very deep level. So when I hear these kind of arguments that, oh, if you have a most powerful machine and then you know, you really need to truly understand what human consciousness is, what emotions are.

Speaker 3: Okay.

Manuj: Computation can mimic stuff. It can mimic language. Sure. It cannot mimic your soul, your heart.

There is no way to do that. Yeah. Yes, maybe it can mimic it so closely that it's indistinguishable from the real world. So let's say if you watch a movie in imax with surround sound and all of that [00:14:00] mm-hmm. Uh, or this new, um, place that has opened up in Vegas, like it's a dorm. It's called like, yeah, I think, I think it is called Globe or something.

Phe. Phe. Yeah. Something like that. So it's, it's massive. And then they play these realistic movies. Now it, they, they look so real that you can imagine your senses say, oh, you are in the real scene right now.

Jake: Yeah, immersed in it. Immersed in it,

Manuj: Momentarily you can enjoy that.

But your, uh, your mind. It cannot be tricked forever. Like mm-hmm. You know, so you, the reality is different now. You can choose to live in that environment 24 7 and say, okay, I'm going to live in a simulated life. That's perfectly okay, but the reality will never be exactly the same.

Jake: I mean, you wouldn't get a judgment from me if that's what you wanted to do, but kind of what we experienced, and I know Canada is a beautiful place.

[00:15:00] I'm currently in Southern California. So it's, I mean, you know, the idea is of the idea of plugging into a pod or, you know, I imagine at some point technology kind of will merge with, let's say, what Elon Musk is doing with Neuralink and create some kind of matrix like plugin where you know, it's ultra realistic.

And if you're in there too long. You might forget that this exists. Mm-hmm. You know, something like that. But when you're move, when you're thinking about moving people into the future, 'cause you're build, you're, you're checking buoyancy on the water, you're observing the floating leaf kind of thing, and you're, yeah.

Exactly. You're plotting this bridge to get from here to there. What's what's scaring you? What scares you the most?

Manuj: First of all, we have observed the, uh, the leaf. We have observed the buoyancy, we have built the bridges. People are [00:16:00] already crossing over by the way, just so it's not like, oh, science fiction or something.

Jake: Right. I believe it. We already doing it. Yeah.

Manuj: The scariest thing is that people are still you know, we have been conditioned for centuries and centuries and centuries to think logically, logical mind. It rules the world today. But people don't know the, the rugby is going to be like pulled out of their feet because logic will not be the realm of humans anymore.

We will not be able to compete in terms of thinking and solution building, uh, thinking of solutions with the machines today, chat, GPT or any other AI platform today, they, they have, um, IQ of about 150, 100. That puts them in a genius realm. Okay.

Jake: Yeah.

Manuj: Einstein had an IQ of 170.

Jake: Yeah.

Manuj: Alright. I just came back speaking at Mansa Foundation, which is like, you know, the top 2% IQ geniuses.

So they only accept [00:17:00] people above 135 in their organization. And, um, average IQ on this planet is 90.

Speaker 3: Right.

Manuj: Okay. So I, I'm giving you this context. By the end of this year, charge G, PT five is expected to come out any uh, day. It's ex, any AI platform by the end of this year is expected to have a IQ for around a thousand.

Jake: What? That's crazy. And and it's maturing exponentially. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah. Exponentially. Yeah. So, yeah. So, whereas like if say six months or a year ago, I think it was maturing 14 years every day.

Manuj: Yeah, absolutely.

Jake: So that's going to be like, now it's maturing 30 years every day.

A hundred years, every day. Yeah. What happens when you, you know, when you add in, when you add in super or quantum computing to that and [00:18:00] excited, is that brutal?

Manuj: And now you, can you imagine your life without the internet?

Jake: No. No, I can't. Yeah. So this is how, yeah. I see.

Manuj: Yeah. You know, this is how technology becomes part of your life and you become habitual to it.

Jake: I, I couldn't wait. And now that I, now that I have it, like I can't live without it, but then there's a part of me that resents it a little bit.

Manuj: Exactly. That's the human experience. That is always the human experience. We always create solutions to problems which create more, uh, you know, those solutions create more problems and then we continue.

That is part of our evolution. You know, this is, this is who we are.

Jake: What's the next phase of evolution when let's say, you know, like in your world where you're thinking five, 10 years ahead, what's 10 years from now look like?

[00:18:54] Merging Technology with Humanity

Manuj: Well, I think, uh, you know, we are sort of getting into the world of, of fusion of [00:19:00] technology with the humans.

You know, we already have prosthetic limbs and things like that. The only thing that was outside the realm of technology was our cognitive. Think like thinking processes with ai. That is also, now, this is the first time in human history that a technology is able to replicate cognition.

Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.

Yeah. Okay.

Manuj: So the only natural path forward here is merging the human mind and body with technology. So there's gonna be like, um. There's gonna be cyborgs or like mm-hmm. Partial human partial machine.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Manuj: These type of scenarios, which were science fiction, they are, these are going to be commonplace now.

Jake: Yeah. And so after, like, Neurolink makes it through human trials, and I'm not sure if they, I don't agree.

Manuj: I don't agree with Neuralink again. Okay. See, my, my practices are more about truly understanding what consciousness [00:20:00] is. So consciousness. In a western medicine world or, uh, you know, scientific, uh, world, people say, oh, consciousness is produced by our brain.

But when you read ancient wisdom, you know, uh, from the east, from the Greeks, from uh, uh, Chinese Indians indigenous people of North America, consciousness is the. Universe, that's everything. And we are just tiny s uh, you know, radios, radio antennas, catching a little signal of that consciousness.

Jake: Yeah.

Manuj: So when you flip that, thinking on that, on that aspect putting a chip in your brain is not going to make you intelligent. It's just going to catch the same signal that the brain is catching probably a little bit more. But not nothing. So in my opinion, these, these whole, uh, these practices of like, you know, figuring out, uh, what is the mind doing and adding [00:21:00] chips to it, like, I think that's gonna fail spectacularly.

Mm-hmm.

Speaker 3: Uh,

Manuj: it's more about really, truly understanding what a human being is, what, what our mind is, not brain, what our mind is, and then enhancing that with the technology.

Jake: Yeah. I think there's a, I think. You're, I think what you're thinking a about is the most beautiful part of the technology that's emerging.

It is the, it's the getting back. If it's a, getting back to it all. It's getting back to understanding yourself, getting mm-hmm. Grounded, taking, doing beautiful things again rather than, let's say, here in Southern California, if you stop for a moment. The economy, the competition that anything you can imagine comes and swallows you up.

Mm-hmm. So it's like there's a beautiful part of what you're talking about that just is like, okay, AI's gonna be here, it's gonna be [00:22:00] fantastic, and it's going to allow me the freedom to explore.

Speaker 3: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

Jake: Um, the world. Mm-hmm. Explore myself, understand who, who I am at a deeper level. You know that. Yep.

Yep. That's. That's the exciting, that's the exciting part for me. And I'm, I think I'm on that train with you. I, I really like that. Mm-hmm.

Manuj: Yeah, exactly. Exactly.

Jake: It.

[00:22:24] The Role of AI in Human Life

Jake: But with the beauty also comes like that little trepidation of, you know, at, we're gonna be able to do all those things and we're gonna use AI as a, as an assistant, or, you know, as a augmentation to our weaknesses, wherever those might be.

Mm-hmm. Um. I guess I don't imagine, I mean, I, I kind of imagine a time when AI or robots will just do everything. Yeah,

Manuj: yeah. Absolutely.

Jake: So what, what happens then? Like, you got 80, you know, 3 billion people in the world, 4 billion people in the world, whatever it is. Eight. [00:23:00] Eight? Is it eight? I'm really, I'm low.

Yeah.

Manuj: Well, uh, you know, uh. It doesn't take that much effort to sort of understand.

[00:23:12] Historical Context and Human Creativity

Manuj: You cannot predict the future, but you can like, sort of like make educated guesses on what is going to happen by looking at history. So, uh, in the 15 hundreds in Europe, there were, uh, there was a period called Renaissance period, and that was a period after the, uh, you know, crusades and all of that.

Like, when the dust settled, people were like, you know, they, they had a lot of time, a lot of money. They're like, okay, what the hell are, are we gonna do? So they started doing music, painting, poetry, and those were the kind of people who were at the top of society. They were the ministers and the, and the highly paid officials in the king's courts.

So when humans have more time and freedom it doesn't mean the world stops.

Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.

[00:23:57] The Pursuit of Connection

Manuj: We just look for new avenues to express [00:24:00] ourselves and find new, new things that we are curious about, you know, exploring space creating new ways of connecting with people that we haven't even like seriously thought about yet.

Like, if you think about it, 90% of technology and business is all about connecting people.

Jake: Yeah.

Manuj: That's basically it. Like, we just want to connect. With ourselves, with other, like, why do you think we go to space and all that? Like, we are wondering, Hey, is there any, anybody else out there like us?

Mm-hmm. Like we, we would like to connect with them or something like that, right?

Jake: Sure.

Manuj: So it's all in a pursuit of connection. It's all in a pursuit of understanding, deeper understanding of the universe. And it's not like, we are going to figure it out and say one day we are gonna say, okay, nothing to do.

Now we just. Done. Like I figured out everything there is to figure out. And for example, I think there was a meme I saw a while back, very, uh, funny meme. It's like there was one guy who was addicted to internet and uh, his wife [00:25:00] was not happy about it. And then I think one day he was just like surfing the internet.

And after like two or three days, like, he's like, wow, I'm done with the internet. Like I've. You know, I've done everything I've done,

Jake: I've done everything on it I can. Yeah, yeah.

Manuj: So imagine like, is that possible? No, no, it's not possible. So, um, so the idea is that as technology facilitates our exploration, we will find those ways to explore.

Jake: That's, yeah.

[00:25:31] Exploring Space and Technology

Jake: So even out, because even outside our own. Let's see. Outside our own galaxy or within our own galaxy. 'cause we haven't really made it very far. We've made it to Mars. I think we've been on Mars since like the seventies or the sixties, right? Mm-hmm.

Manuj: No, we've gone until one and Voyager two. Those were the two space sent out and I think seventies or eighties.

So now they basically think one of them crossed the threshold of the solar system. [00:26:00]

Jake: Oh, is that right?

Manuj: Oh,

Jake: that's like how many light years is that?

Manuj: How many light years is that? Oh, no, no, no. Light years is, uh, no, not light years. Light years will be

Jake: Oh, the galaxy. Uh,

Manuj: out of the galaxy.

Jake: That's, yeah.

That's, they haven't found life though yet. No, not yet. We have an audio problem, huh? Is there an audio problem on your end? Yeah, I think sounds, can you hear me? Yeah. It sounds like it may have resolved itself. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:26:36] From Humble Beginnings to Major Achievements

Jake: So it's, so you went from, you went from making like $2 a week in a factory in India to taking a company where you have four patents and $500 million, or is it 500 million in, in revenue?

Manuj: Our revenue, it's creation of some value. Like, you [00:27:00] know, we have built new technology, new startups cumulatively. Their value has been. Much more than that. Mm-hmm. But I conservatively, I will say 500 million we have generated over the last 30 years. Not th this doesn't by the way, go all in my pocket.

Most of it goes in other people's pockets, so

Jake: Yeah. As it is. Yeah. It's, uh, you, there is something, uh, I read some writeup or something. Was it like Microsoft, IBM or something? Are they, who's using your technology right now?

Manuj: Yeah. Microsoft, IBM T-Mobile, Pearson Education. Um, a lot of large companies, but hundreds and hundreds of uh, small to medium sized companies as well.

Jake: That's fantastic. That's like from $2 a week, $2 a day, or $2 a. Oh, okay. That's, well, that's not even, that's much now. It's much better. Yeah. Yeah, that's much better. Like five times better, you know, it's, uh, you know, it's five times better, but it's still only two. When was [00:28:00] that? Was that seventies, eighties?

Manuj: No, no, that was like around, uh, yeah, late eighties. Late eighties to early nineties. Yeah.

Jake: Oh, yeah. That's so good, man. What's, what do you and your, and your colleagues talk about this? That like nobody else is talking about. Quiet concerns maybe? Um,

[00:28:23] Unlocking the Power of the Mind

Manuj: yeah, I think you know, these, these are the typical things where the, there is a saying that as humans we have access to 10% of our, you know, the, the rest of the 90% is more accessible.

Mm-hmm. So what we talk about is what will happen if we unlock that 90% for 8 billion people.

You know, mind is a very powerful you know, it's, it's a machine to think, but also it's, um, way to, uh, finding ourselves. So I'll, I'll give you a couple of examples. I was talking to a very accomplished surgeon [00:29:00] and he works with kids.

So he says that, you know, I work with a lot of kids, like they have, uh. Many of them have terminal diseases and you know, I, I, I operate on them and I fix them physiologically. Yeah. But they go through such a big trauma mm-hmm. You know, going through surgery and all of that. Many of them, they lose the will to live or get healthy.

Mm. Yeah. So the mind is like, you can fix, you can do surgery and give medicine, but how do you fix the mind? Right. Uh, there's a lot of, uh, there's a lot of anxiety, stress. I mean, stress is the major, major, major reason of all kinds of diseases.

Jake: Yeah.

Manuj: So how do you utilize the power of the mind?

Like, you know, we are all talking about, hey, you utilize the sun's energy, or solar, solar energy, wind energy. But the, what about the 90% of the mind energy that is just sitting there? How do we [00:30:00] utilize that? That's what we talk about. That's what I talk about.

Jake: Uh, you guys just all sit around watching that Scarlet Johansen movie.

I forget what Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I forget what the,

Speaker 3: or something,

Jake: the name of, I forget the name of that movie. She got a hundred, she got control of a hundred percent of her brain. She. Eventually became one with the universe or something. It was like, uh, yeah, spoiler alert, if you haven't, it's a movie.

It's like 15 years old, but it's a, if you haven't seen it by now, it's a good movie. I'm talking to all the young guys out there, scar Scarlet Johansen, you can't go wrong. But it's a fascinating movie. Mm-hmm. It's, uh, if I, if you had, if you had, I got, if I, if you had $10 million to build AI that solved one global crisis, no strings attached.

Mm-hmm. What would you design?

[00:30:43] The Future of AI and Human Collabor ation

Manuj: I, uh, I, we are already sort of, you know, I told you like I'm hinting towards that. We are already working on merging the subconscious mind. We are, like my background is, uh, again, technology, but I'm fascinated with the subconscious mind.

Speaker 3: Mm-hmm. That

Manuj: is our 90% mind.

So whatever we [00:31:00] are doing, it will go into that. Like, you know, how do we connect people, like even in teams, even in organizations, if you think about it. All we are trying to do is logically connect people towards a common cause.

Jake: Yeah. Correct. Yeah, exactly right.

Manuj: Yeah. So when we do that, there are a lot of dynamics at play, jealousy, there is a backstabbing, there is politics, there is all that nonsense that happens in, in coming in the way of actually getting things done.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Manuj: So how do you. How do you use technology to flip that switch and bring people together? Like think about a, a soccer team. A soccer team has one goal, which is to score goals on the other side.

Jake: That's right.

Manuj: Of the, on their upper, they wear the same jersey. They go to the same, they eat at the same place.

They, they work with the same coaches. They are one.

Speaker 3: Mm-hmm. You know,

Manuj: even though there are like 15 or so players on a team, but they [00:32:00] behave like one.

Jake: Yeah. But.

Manuj: Can you say that about any other organization, like a corporate team or your own small business team, or your own mind for heaven's sake?

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Manuj: You wake up in the morning, one part of your mind says, ah, you know, I'm feeling lazy today.

And another part says, oh, you know, I need to go make some money for family. Another part wants to just just take off from this world and go to the mountains and just say, okay, don't bother me at all. You know?

Jake: Yeah. You just, you just outline my whole morning, like every morning. That's my thing. Yeah,

Manuj: exactly.

So this is a common phenomenon. Mm-hmm. Like it's, and so imagine if you can coherently tap into that and say, okay, I know exactly what I'm here to do. I know exactly who I want to collaborate. I know exactly what they want from me and what I bring to the table. And no mo no bs, no politics. You're just gonna get things done.

And, uh, and that's a beautiful life. And that's, uh, that's where I'm gonna put all, I'm already putting all my money into it. If there's [00:33:00] 10 million more, I'm gonna put it in there.

Jake: Yeah, that's, yeah. It sounds like you're doing a Fanta, I mean, I think you're. That's right. 'cause if you, you know, if you remove self, if you remove selfish ambition, if you remove fear and greed and politics and all these things from the equation and you're foc and everybody's focused on a central goal, then you can, you can move the world.

Like there's nothing you can't achieve when every, you mentioned earlier about everybody's kind of getting a, a little part of the signal. No, I take, I take my little part of the signal and I combine it with your little part of the signal and you know, a million other people, parts of the signal. And we have like a, this unity that says

Manuj: absolutely, absolutely

Jake: right where we, where we can accomplish anything if we just get out of our own greedy way.

And absolutely.

Manuj: I will, uh, make a little tiny adjustment there. Mm-hmm. I think greed is good. I think, uh, personal ambition is good, [00:34:00] but politics and jealousy and backstabbing and those things come because our logical mind is not able to align our goals with our team goals, with our, our organizational goals.

Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.

Manuj: With our community goals and national goals. But if there is a super intelligent, uh, companion, each one of us has. It can guide us on everyday basis and say, this is how you align all your goals along with the other humans that you care about. And everybody gets exactly what they want. Mm-hmm.

There is no more zero, zero sum game where we are fighting for the same resources. Yeah.

Jake: And maybe that's the, maybe that's the, the upside of this, of the AI revolution and what you're kind of building boats and bridges for and what you have been is that. All of those platforms, everything you're building is gonna be their IQs are in the thousands and they're growing exponentially, and then they're gonna connect, like we would connect to solve [00:35:00] exactly to solve the world's problems.

And they're gonna solve the world's problems in a second. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Assuming we have the power. You know, the energy to f to fund it, right. We're at some point we're gonna reach a bottleneck of energy where we have the computers and we have, they're all very smart, and they could accomplish great things, but we won't have the power to mm-hmm.

To power. Yeah. But let's say they do that, they're off, seeking out the universe and maybe we're on board that ship with them because they're mm-hmm. They have the ability to keep us alive. And then, and then we're freed up to just entertain whatever exploratory things we want to entertain as.

And then maybe that's what eliminates the greed or the selfishness or whatever else. Maybe it's like, yeah. We can't accomplish anything unless we do it together. The robots got all the hard stuff.

Manuj: And then here is the interesting [00:36:00] part.

[00:36:00] The Evolution of Human Nature

Manuj: There could be another version of greed that humans have not even experienced so far yet.

You understand? Yeah. Because the environment has not been there for us to experience something different because it has been always a zero sum game. But now if, if the environment around us changes. We may experience another form of selfishness or whatever that we have that we don't even know yet.

Jake: Yeah. That seems to be the way of human nature. Correct. Exactly. Take the, really take the great stuff and then figure out how to hoard it. Keep it for ourselves. Hoard it.

Manuj: But yeah. But, but see we, we tend to label things, but the first and foremost thing we need to realize, the most powerful phenomena in this universe is evolution.

Okay. So evolution doesn't care how things move forward. Greediness, like selfishness, doesn't matter mean That is part of the reason why we became the most dominant species if [00:37:00] we were so benevolent, so like giving. Yeah.

Speaker 3: You

Manuj: know we'll say, Hey tiger, you seem hungry. Okay, why don't you take my arm and just be satisfied?

Jake: Yeah. Why take my arm? Why would be satisfied? That's funny.

Manuj: Exactly. And we are selfish and we will say, okay, I'm gonna kill you before I freaking like suffer. Uh, uh, an iota of inconvenience. Like, I wanna not, I will kill you not only for today, but I wanna rest for the next. 10 days and not have to get up to feed myself.

Jake: You see, that's part of

Manuj: evolution.

Jake: Yeah. That's part of, yeah, that's part of evolution. But you guys are building AI predicated BA based on the neuroscience that we have, right? That correct. This is how the human brain works. So kind of we're building AI and programs to operate in a similar way.

Exactly. So can we expect that if we. If we build AI in our [00:38:00] image, that eventually they're going to become potentially selfish and greedy themselves. So, so there is, there is a,

Manuj: a difference here how I, again, I look at it, okay, so think about a billiards or a snooker table, right? Mm-hmm. When you strike a ball you typically strike the white ball, which strikes the colored ball.

Jake: Yep.

Manuj: The objective is not to. Dunk the white ball, the objective is dunk. The colored

Jake: ball. Yep.

Manuj: So the white ball is an intermediate object.

Jake: Okay.

Manuj: So AI is an intermediate object to create optimized life for humans. Rather than it becoming an entity in itself.

Jake: I see. Yeah. So in, in your world, AI is always gonna be somewhat dependent on humans.

Absolutely. For its existence. And there won't ever become a time where it's untethered from us,

Manuj: you know? Um, [00:39:00] an untethered person can take control of a certain type of AI and try to do certain things. But at the end of the day we, we have this notion that AI is its own entity or its own.

Organism. That is where most people mistake this to be because it's not another species. It's not a, a live organism, it's just an algorithm running on electricity. That's it. Yeah.

Jake: Tool.

Manuj: Yeah.

Jake: It's kinda a, in a, yeah. All you need to do

Manuj: is plug it off and then it's, it's off.

Jake: Well, yeah. Right now.

Uh, right now, but I'd like to be in some of those dark, you know, some of those rooms that you sit around with your friends and think about the future. I'm,

Manuj: I'm telling you, I mean, this is coming directly. I mean, you know, I, I interact with people, uh, from philanthropic, from open ai, from Microsoft, Google, like, you know, I'm telling you that because this is, these are the things that we talk about, and, uh, and truly [00:40:00] that's what it is now.

I can't say I know everything. Uh, what is going to happen in 50 years, 60 or a hundred years. Maybe there's gonna be a fusion of, uh, human DNA with some sort of another entity or whatever. Like, who knows? I, I don't know. Who

Jake: knows? Right. But yeah.

Manuj: Yeah. But as of today, what I'm, what I know about technology, which I know quite a bit about, and what I know about humanity and consciousness, again, which I know quite a bit about.

Speaker 3: Yeah.

Manuj: This is what I'm presenting you, my opinion.

And these are my true beliefs. But tomorrow if I see new data, I mean,

Jake: I'm happy to change my views. Super. That is man. It is. That is super exciting. I I, I am, I'm optimistic about it. I'm, you know, I have, you know, I'm learning. I'm learning.

Um. Gentech ai. I am learning how to get robots to do some of my more mundane tasks I'm doing, you know, I'm trying to learn, stay ahead of it as much as I can, but it is going super [00:41:00] fast. Mm-hmm. It is, you know, it's a full-time job almost. Trying to just stay on top of what we're actually, yeah.

Yeah. Trying to extend our employable lifespan. Now, I'm fortunate I own my own business, but. You know, there are a lot of people who don't, so it's, you know, you're trying to extend your employable lifespan by five or 10 years by learning technology.

[00:41:25] AI's Role in Business and Society

Jake: What do you see as being the future of business?

Manuj: Business? I think, again, as I said, like business has been you know, our economies have been shaped over centuries, and again, they are based on this principle of zero sum game. And, uh, there's only so much resources to go around, but I think with AI, there's gonna be almost unlimited wealth created.

So there's not gonna be a situation of, um, zero sum game. It'll be more about, okay, what value do I want to create in the world? And a lot of the kind of greed [00:42:00] and, and bad practices to like gouge people and all that. I believe we'll start to. Kind of melt away. Mm-hmm. Because everybody will be able to get to their heart's content.

Now some people may say that, you know, there is no depth to human greed, but I believe it's more about like, greed is all about proving ourselves to the world. And if there's a better way to prove ourselves to the world through expression, through creativity, I think people will do that more

So the business will change.

Towards more emotional intelligence, empathy, learning about other people's needs and wants, you know? Mm-hmm.

Jake: I hope you're right. Give one piece before I let you go.

[00:42:40] Advice for the Next Generation

Jake: Give one piece of advice for the young men who are listening to this podcast or who will listen to it in the future. What, what is the very next thing they should be doing or thinking about in regards to their futures?

Manuj: I think first and foremost. Really get good at communication, human communication. Okay. That, that, uh, skill will never go outta [00:43:00] style and it'll actually become more and more valuable moving forward. So communication, develop emotional intelligence empathy, uh, you know, travel the world, learn about culture in, uh, the, the human culture.

Like what is human species all about? Because everything else honestly is going to be. A real of the computer. So real world exp experience, experiential wisdom will be invaluable.

Jake: Well, that is, and and I think that in is, is the heart the heart difference between head knowledge and actual knowledge.

You can read a book on how to do things, but until you actually go out and put it into practice, you don't really know. Excellent. So that's some, that's good advice. Manu, I thank you so much for coming on here, man. I am, I'm psyched to have met you, and I hope that we can have more talks like this in the future.

It's a, it's really been fun and a great pleasure to meet you, man. You're, you're having an encouraging story that, that's inspiring. Thank [00:44:00]

Manuj: you. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, no, these were great questions. Uh, thank you so much.

Jake: Thanks, Maje. You have a great day and, uh. Uh, thanks for coming on again. I appreciate it.

Manuj: Thank you. Thanks. Absolutely.

Thank you.

In this podcast episode, we draw an intriguing parallel between the Hamas organization and the inner conflict within every individual: the struggle between the desires of the flesh and the call to live in obedience to the spirit. We explore the complex dynamics at play in both scenarios.

Hamas, a controversial and widely discussed organization, is known for its political and military activities. Most recently they have attacked an innocent group of concert goers and ignighted a war...but why?

At the same time, we relate this external conflict to the internal battle within each person. Just as nations and organizations wrestle with their goals and actions, we all grapple with our inner desires, passions, and the pursuit of a meaningful connection with the divine.

Our episode encourages contemplation on the importance of choosing the path of spiritual obedience over the temptations of the flesh. We explore the parallels and contrasts between these two realms, seeking a deeper understanding of the choices we make in our personal and spiritual journeys.

Join us for an insightful discussion that delves into the complexities of external and internal conflicts, ultimately encouraging a reflection on the path to spiritual alignment and obedience to the spirit.

The folsom street fair in San Francisco is the obvious example of what happens when people fully embrace an identitiy of "animal" and a culture decends into debauchery and lust.

Beware of Senetor Scott Weiner ( https://lgbtqcaucus.legislature.ca.gov/senator-scott-wiener-0) These are the types of people who are making laws about our culture and he specifically has attempted to pass legistlation allowing for the abuse of children.

You are the men that, if committed to the Spirit, will develop into loving, powerful men who can undo the damage that the pervert are attempting to pass.

Do not be decieved. If you continue to give into the flesh it will not be long before you desire to behave or at very least, look past, this type of behavior.

All Christian men have 2 sides to their mind. One that focuses on the flesh and the other that focuses on the spirit. When the flesh mind combines with the element revealed in this episode it creates a particular kind of result.

Fair warning. It takes a few minutes to get warmed up but it escalates and ends in some pretty heavy encouragement to escape and escalate your life with God.

The fact is that the bible struck me as I was reading and so began a audible meditation of sorts that I decided to record.

In 1 Peter 1:13-17, the apostle Peter encourages believers to prepare their minds for action and to live holy lives. He reminds us that we have been redeemed by the blood of Christ and that our lives should reflect that reality.

As followers of Christ, we are called to be set apart from the world and to live in a way that honors God. This means that we should be intentional about our thought life, our behavior, and our relationships.

Preparing our minds for action involves being intentional about what we allow into our minds. We should guard against the negative influences of the world and focus on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).

Living a holy life involves making choices that align with God's will. It means saying no to things that are sinful or harmful and saying yes to things that honor God. It also means treating others with love, kindness, and respect.

Peter reminds us that our time on earth is temporary, and that we should live in light of eternity. We should strive to make the most of every opportunity to serve God and to share the hope of the gospel with others.

As we reflect on these verses, let us ask God to help us prepare our minds for action and to live holy lives that honor Him. May our thoughts, words, and actions be pleasing to Him and may we be a light in a dark world.

Discrimination is an unfortunate reality that has affected various individuals and groups throughout history. Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, or religion is morally wrong and unjustifiable. While discrimination against marginalized communities has been recognized and widely condemned, it is important to also acknowledge and address discrimination against white people. Some people argue that white individuals cannot be discriminated against because they have historically held positions of power and privilege in society. However, this argument ignores the fact that discrimination based on race is wrong, regardless of the race of the person being discriminated against.

Discrimination against anyone is not only unjustifiable but can also have serious consequences. Discrimination against people can lead to feelings of isolation, marginalization, and resentment. When individuals are unfairly treated based on their race, it can negatively impact their mental health, well-being, and sense of belonging.

Moreover, discrimination can also contribute to social and political division, as individuals who feel discriminated against may become more resistant to diversity and social change. Discrimination against people can also perpetuate negative stereotypes and prejudice.

When people are treated unfairly based on their race, it reinforces the idea that certain racial groups are inherently superior or inferior to others. This kind of thinking can lead to further discrimination and prejudice against all members of that group, including those who may not fit the stereotype.

Furthermore, discrimination against people can have a negative impact on society as a whole. It creates a culture of intolerance and undermines the values of diversity and equality that are essential for a healthy and prosperous society.

Discrimination against any group of people is a threat to social cohesion, and it is our responsibility to work towards a more inclusive and just society.

In conclusion, discrimination against white people is wrong and has no place in our society. It undermines the values of diversity and equality that are essential for a healthy and prosperous society. We must work together to eliminate all forms of discrimination and create a more inclusive and just world.

King Asa kills a million men and the importance of leadership

King Asa was a significant figure in the history of the Kingdom of Judah. His reign lasted for forty-one years and was marked by several significant events. One of the most notable events during his reign was his war with Zerah the Ethiopian. In this episode, we'll take a closer look at this conflict and explore its historical significance.

According to the Bible, Zerah the Ethiopian was a powerful military leader who had amassed an army of a million men and 300 chariots. He marched his army towards the Kingdom of Judah, seeking to conquer and subjugate the nation. When King Asa heard of the impending invasion, he called upon the Lord for help and assembled his army to meet Zerah's forces in battle.

The battle between the two armies took place in the Valley of Zephathah, near Mareshah. Despite being heavily outnumbered, King Asa and his army emerged victorious. The Bible states that the Lord struck down the Ethiopian army, causing them to flee in disarray. King Asa and his troops pursued them and plundered their camp, taking a significant amount of loot.

The historical significance of this battle lies in its impact on the Kingdom of Judah. The victory over Zerah the Ethiopian was a significant boost to the morale of the Judean people, and it solidified King Asa's position as a strong and capable leader. It also helped to strengthen the nation's defenses and deter future attacks from neighboring kingdoms.

In addition to the military victory, the story of King Asa and Zerah the Ethiopian also highlights the importance of faith and trust in God. Despite being heavily outnumbered and facing a formidable opponent, King Asa did not waver in his faith and relied on the Lord for help. His faith was rewarded, and he emerged victorious.

In conclusion, the story of King Asa's war with Zerah the Ethiopian is a fascinating tale of military prowess and faith in God. It serves as a reminder of the importance of strong leadership, strategic planning, and the power of faith. The victory over Zerah the Ethiopian helped to strengthen the Kingdom of Judah and set the stage for a period of peace and prosperity under King Asa's rule.

The art of suffering well is often lost on 1st world people. We havn't had to fight like many others before us and we are fortunate enough to have been born in an environment that allows for its absence. Suffering however can have its benfits. People who have suffered much have a wisdom and power that many who have never suffered don't have. We can learn alot from suffering.

THE ART OF SUFFERING

How to suffer well is the strategy used by many an enlightened individual who has discovered the importance of it.

Broken hearts teach you about love and loss. Lessons that can be learned no other way are learned by suffering.

Many people ask... If God is real why is there suffering in the world? The question comes from a point of view that assumes that all suffering is bad. There are a great many lessons to learn in the act of suffering. Its a test of sorts to see what you really believe. Have you accomplished all that you set out to accomplish? Did you make the most of your time on this planet? These questions are often answered at the terrible diagnosis of cancer or any other disease.

Suffering can teach us where our hearts have really been and where we have really placed our trust. Do you trust God to teach you? Even if that lesson can be learned by no other means than suffering?

MINDSETS & OUTCOMES

What you set your mind to will determine the results that you get in your life.

We have all known people that seemed committed to making sure that they have a constant supply of drama in their lives. While talking with them it seems as though they hate it but as time goes on you realize that drama is what they invite into their lives.

On some level people are programmed by their environement. We grow up in a particular neighborhood with a particular type of parent and friends. Whatever that environement creates within us becomes the point of comfort and safety even if that environement is not healthy.

Our behaviors and decsions are all trying to lead back to that stasis, that which is familiar, even if it is not good for us.

Knowing how to control your mindset is the key to long term success and achieving all that you want in life.

Are you ready for 2023? So long 2022 here comes 2023 and we are prepared for whatever may come.

Back in the saddle after some health issues lets talk about what we want for 2023. You can't make progress without a vision. You need to be able to see, in your minds eye and feel in your heart, what you want and how you will feel once you accomplish it. Without a clearly definded outcome you will remain in the same pattern of existence that you have been in for many years. If you want to break free of the rut you are in it will require vision.

Once you have a vision for 2023 start thinking about all the ways that you will sabbotage yourself to keep from achieving it. What will get in your way, distract you, or throw you off course? You need to know this so that you can prepare contingencies for moving past them.

Now that you have your vision and know how your sub-concious will attempt to kill it its time to lay out the steps. Start with a time goal. When do you want your vision by?

Next what are the steps and when do each step need to be accomplished in order to reach that time goal?

How will you schedule these steps in your busy life and who do you need to discuss these changes in pattern with? You may need to talk with your wife to let her know that you won't be watching as much television with her.

God gave Gideon 300 men to take a land with a standing army, presumably , in the thousands. Me who were fearless, self aware and intentional. These men were men of faith. They trusted the promise of God and they lived lives that were in line with that promise.

How many men are actually living the lives that God has for them? Men are sacrificing real glory for comfort, security and laziness. More and more men are becoming cowards who will eventually be left with a life time of regrets.

Don't be those guys

Get your eyes off of my stuff!

If you want to destroy your soul and embitter your life than keep looking at what everyone else has and lusting after it. Craving other peoples things leads to all sort of madness that is difficult to get out of.

First you crave the neighbors house, car, wife and business. Next think you will be doing as the jealousy takes root and begins to infect your life is start slandering him to all your friends, in your mind building up animosity for all that he has accomlished.

Being content with where you are in your life is a tricky mental game. one way thing you do not want to do is crave other people stuff. Set your mind to achieve your own goals, develop new skills, and you will be able to obtain the same success as the neighbor without hating him for it.

There are a great many things that you could do without any judgement however...do they serve you?

I personally don't believe that many of the so called profane words are actually profanity but I don't say them. Why? Because they don't serve me. The circles I run in are professionals and many are Christians who believe that some words are profanity. Can I say them? Yes but I don't because in doing so I would be sacrificing my opprotunity to serve others for the sake of a stupid word.

Many men today are holding to things that don't serve them simly because they can.

Today is the day to decide what in your mind or machine is effecting your mission negativly and change it. Don't hold so tightly to silly things that will limit your influence.
