On this episode of Latina Confidential, I sit down with Carolina Aurora Márquez, a first-generation Mexican-American woman who has overcome tremendous obstacles and found success through resilience and determination. After a devastating car accident that took the life of her high school sweetheart and husband, Carolina turned her grief into motivation. She completed her Master's degree while also losing 60 pounds and becoming a wellness and motivational speaker. She starred in E! Revenge Body with Khloé Kardashian season 3 (which she manifested). Carolina shares her insights on mindset, self-love, and the power of manifesting your dream life. She also discusses her work with the CAM Women's Group, where she mentors and hosts events on self-care and self-love. Don't miss this inspiring conversation with Carolina Aurora Márquez.

In this episode, I was joined by Kelly Serpico (@nursekellita), a first-generation Peruvian American and a registered nurse with over five years of experience in the field. Kelly is currently pursuing her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at the University of Southern California.
My conversation with Kelly centered around her experiences as a Latina RN and the challenges she has faced as a minority in the healthcare field. We discussed the importance of diversity and inclusion in healthcare, and the impact that a lack of representation can have on patients and healthcare professionals alike. Throughout the episode, Kelly's passion for nursing shone through. Her insights and experiences shed light on the importance of diversity and inclusivity in healthcare, and the valuable contributions that minority nurses can make to the field.

In this episode of The Latina Confidential, I had the privilege to chat with Imelda Hartley, founder of Imelda Happy Tamales. Imelda's story is one of resilience and determination. She is a survivor of domestic violence and a mother of 14 children, and despite facing numerous challenges, she has managed to build a successful tamales business as she says, she doesn't sell food, she sells hope.
Imelda's journey to success was not an easy one. She immigrated to the United States accidentally at 14 and had to learn to navigate a new country and culture on her own. Despite the odds, Imelda persevered and eventually started her own business selling her delicious tamales.
Recently, Imelda had the incredible opportunity to sell her food at the Superbowl, a dream come true for any entrepreneur. But for Imelda, it was more than just a business opportunity. It was a chance to spread hope and inspire others to pursue their dreams, no matter how challenging the journey.
In this episode, we dive deep into Imelda's inspiring story and learn about the lessons she's learned along the way. We also get a glimpse into the passion and dedication that goes into making her delicious tamales. Imelda's story is a testament to the power of hard work and determination, and I am honored to share it with you. You can follow Imelda on Instagram @imeldahappytamales

In this episode I'm so excited because I welcome my first-ever guest, Jacqueline Villegas, to discuss the important topic of mental health in Latino families.
Jacqueline is a Latina born in Oak Cliff Dallas, she attended UT Arlington and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor's in Social Work and a minor in Psychology. Growing up in a Latino family with Chicano and Salvadoran roots, Jacqueline experienced firsthand the stigma and shame associated with mental health issues.
In this candid conversation, Jacqueline and I explore the cultural factors that contribute to the stigma surrounding mental health in Latino families, as well as the impact that this stigma can have on individuals and communities. We also share our own personal experiences with mental health and offer advice for others who may be struggling to open up about their own mental health challenges.
As the first guest on the Latina Confidential, Jacqueline sets the tone for a podcast dedicated to amplifying the voices and experiences of Latina women. This episode is a must-listen for anyone who has ever felt alone or ashamed about their mental health struggles, and for those who want to learn more about how to support loved ones who may be going through a difficult time.
