Brave Conversations: Recent Episodes

Barbie Armenta

Everyone has a story, sometimes they just need a platform to tell it. Brave conversations are all about connecting with those who have stories of transitions, fear, loneliness, difficult changes, and life's trials and how they utilized faith and strength to rewrite their story. These stories are proof that although life doesn’t always go according to plan, there is always hope and joy to be found on the other side of struggle, and sometimes it can be so much more beautiful than we ever imagined. podcast website Brave1.net/podcast

Today's encore episode is one of my favorites, because my conversation is with one of my favorite people. Richard Armenta is an entrepreneur, an incredible dad, and my amazing husband. On today's episode you get the story behind the story. Richard and I have been married 10 years and have a big, blended family; but there is so much that happened along the way. We go back to his past relationships, finding God in a treatment center, and what it looked like when he surrendered everything including his dating life. Richard's story goes back to a dark place, but we find a lot of good stuff along the way. Join us for our adventure of finding love and life after divorce.

This is part 1 of Richards story, Join us next week for part 2 or our journey.

I love women entrepreneurs! They have courage, fortitude, and grit that is inspiring! If you know me, you also know that I love a good local coffee shop. Black Coffee FWis one of my absolute favorites! Not only for their amazing coffee, but also for the inspiring story behind the brand. The founder of Black Coffee, Mia Moss, is a Fort Worth native that learned the value of local business within a community that she loves. Mia has built her business on the East side of Fort Worth, in the hopes of continuing to provide a local hangout for people to come together. Her heart for serving others through community and coffee is a wonderful reminder of the power of supporting local businesses.

Her own journey with shifting to an alcohol-free lifestyle and guiding other women with their own relationship with alcohol is a prime example of the values of community and authenticity that we celebrate here in the Brave 1 community.

What an amazing first season of Brave Conversations! I got to have conversations with some of the most phenomenal women. On this episode our co-producer Jenn Pfahlert and I break down a few of our take-ways. One thing that everyone I spoke to had in common is that they each were resilient and courageous in every area of life.

Jenn and I had so much fun looking back on these stories while being inspired in our own life. I hope that you will enjoy this episode and go back and listen to the past episodes. You will walk away with the tools, encouragement, and inspiration to end this year strong and look forward with hope for the coming year.

I want to thank David and Jenn Pfahlert of Silent Stream Media for making our first season amazing!

You might recognize our latest podcast guest as one of the incredible hosts for @nbctexastoday . Although she has an extremely accomplished career in the TV-news industry, Kristin felt that there was more exploration to her faith that needed to be uncovered. Her and her husband started a storytelling faith walk by backpacking the 500-mile Camino de Santiago in Spain. On this journey, Kristin was led through a transformation physically, mentally, and spiritually. Kristen details her journey in her new book, My journey back to God.

Today's podcast is one that you don’t want to miss! I recently met Amanda May, and instantly loved her. She has an incredible story of fortitude and resilience. Amanda felt a call from God to leave her life in a small town in Ohio, and move to sin city, Las Vegas. As a single mom she traveled across the country with her 2-year-old son and her dog. Amanda is a model and Beauty Boss, working in the beauty industry that I love, and is leaving her mark in so many ways. She is a former HSN guest and a national trainer for America's top beauty brands. She has dedicated two decades to inspiring women to do the things that inspire them with a rarely discussed perspective on the marriage of inner and outer beauty. She and her boyfriend Chaun Williams have now launched Pays to be clean podcast. Of course, all of the good stuff we found on the journey along the way.

When I decided to start a podcast all about BRAVE women sharing their stories, I knew I had to ask my great friend and Brave Gathering 2022 speaker Staci Danford Staci is a CEO, Mom, TedX speaker, and gratitude expert!  With a master's degree in Mind, Brain & Education, Staci teaches others how to understand brain patterns and how they can make practical, scientific changes in their lives to improve their relationships, businesses, and habits. My favorite part of Staci's story is how she came to find this passion for gratitude later in life and learned how to rewrite her own story.

You can hear more from Staci at The Brave Gathering Oct 21st & 22nd In Fort Worth, Texas. Enjoy $10 off with promo code BRAVE1
