Dr. V. "Issa" White is one of the nation’s premier scholars on Islam among people of African descent and Latinos in the Americas. He has appeared on national and international networks such as Al Jazeera, BBC, PBS, NPR, Good Morning America, CNN, and FOX to name a few. In addition, his works have been printed in the London Times, New York Times, Los Angeles and The Jewish Forward Magazine among others.
As a graduate of Bethune-Cookman University, Purdue University and The Ohio State University he has a stellar record in the areas of Constitutional and Legal History, Public History, Labor, and Social History, and Caribbean and Latin American History. Dr. V. "Issa" White was the last academic to interview Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. In addition, Dr. V. "Issa" White work in Public History and Historical Archeology has been illustrated in major documentaries on the History Channel, Discovery Network, C-Span, and several international networks. In this light, he served as the Head of the Ethnic and African American Studies Department at the University of Illinois and later the Director of Public History at the University of Central Florida

As Florida’s 44th Governor from 2007 to 2011, Charlie Crist led Florida through the Great Recession and the Deepwater Horizon Gulf oil spill, always keeping his word to fight for the people. He helped lower the cost of doing business and living in Florida, increase transparency in government, strengthen Florida’s economy and ensure the safety and world-class education of Florida’s children.
- He prevented massive teacher layoffs during the recession, working with the Obama Administration to use federal stimulus funding to save 20,000 teachers’ jobs.
- He stopped radical attacks on women’s rights, vetoing laws to restrict a woman’s right to choose.
- He led efforts to protect civil rights, taking action to automatically restore voting rights of non-violent ex-felons and to extend voting hours across the state for all Floridians.

Nikki Mims-McGee is an native Orlandoan and has been a West Orange County resident for over four decades. Along with her deep roots in the community, Nikki has over a decade experience in community leadership with a focus on diversity and inclusion. As a candidate for Orange County Commissioner for District 6, Nikki’s primary goal is to build a community focused on progress and prosperity for all; a place we are all proud to call home.
Nikki is the daughter of the prominent owners of Mims Construction, ranked as one of the top ten concrete and masonry service providers in central Florida. Like her parents, Nikki is an entrepreneur and community advocate at heart. Nikki is the mother of a handsome teenage son and beautiful pre-teen daughter. ABOUT ROBERTA WALTON JOHNSON Roberta Walton Johnson currently serves as the General Counsel for the Orange County Clerk of Circuit and County Courts. On July 6, 2016, Philando Castile was fatally shot by Jeronimo Yanez, a St. Anthony, Minnesota, police officer, after being pulled over in Falcon Heights, a suburb of St. Paul. Castile was in a car with his girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, and her four-year-old daughter when he was pulled over by Yanez and another officer. On November 16, 2016, John Choi, the Ramsey County Attorney, announced that Yanez was being charged with three felonies: one count of second-degree manslaughter and two counts of dangerous discharge of a firearm. Choi said, "I would submit that no reasonable officer knowing, seeing, and hearing what Officer Yanez did at the time would have used deadly force under these circumstances."
Yanez was acquitted of all charges on June 16, 2017. The same day, he was fired by the City of St. Anthony
