There is a ruthless killer is making it's way through the town of Cedar Creek! We can't stop it, we can't even see it! A deadly virus has made it way to the United States and doctors with both the military and the CDC need to try to contain the Outbreak! This is most certainly an action-packed, entertaining adventure, but how does the science hold up??
One of the first movies that comes to mind when you think weather related movies is the 1996 classic Twister! Sure the effects are great (flying cows yay!) and it is an entertaining movie from start to finish but how is the science??
A killer comet is headed toward earth, the only way to save it's is to drill a hole and put a nuclear device in the comet to blow it into pieces and divert its path! Sounds interesting? Well apparently Hollywood did because they pretty much made the same movie twice in 1998, Deep Impact and Armageddon! Although it wasn't as successful at the box office, Deep Impact is often regarded as the more accurate movie. But just how accurate is the science?
So there is a volcano near a new multimillion dollar resort on a beautiful island. Sounds like a terrible idea, but that's only the beginning of all of the bad things in this mess of a movie! The move is bad, but how bad is the science??!!
There's an explosion in the Holland Tunnel and only Slyvester Stallone can save those trapped inside. This 1990's disaster flick gets lost in the shuffle, but how does the science stand up???

The quiet tiny town of Dante's Peak is in the shadow of a large volcano, and after several years of staying dormant that volcano is threatning to make Dante's Peak quiet forever. This late 1990's action thriller may not be the best movie, but how is the science??
